How do i delete all my emails from my ipad

How can I delete all of the messages in my email? It keeps telling me its unable to delete. I would like to be able to mass delete instead of deleting one at a time.

The only way to mass delete would be to go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and remove that email account.

How can I delete all the email from a user's account?

I have a user account with a huge amount of mail (around 50K messages) that Apple Mail can't deal with... it constantly hangs and/or crashes whether I use POP or IMAP to try and delete all the mail from the client.
How can I delete all the mail from the mailbox on the server? I don't want to delete the account entirely, I just want to empty everything out of it.

I am trying to delete the many emails from my outlook account which I can bring up on my ipad mini. I want to keep the outlook email on the ipad. So far all I have been able to do is bring up the email list, touch edit, then touch each email then move to trash. I have a lot of email and would like to delete them all at once. The Apple instructions state:
Edit a mailbox.
While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select certain messages or tap Mark All, then:
Tap Mark to Flag, Mark as Read or Move to Junk
Tap Move to move selected messages into a mailbox
Tap Trash to move them to the trash
If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.
Unfortunately, the MOVE and the Trash buttons never activate ... is there a fix for this or is this an oversight?

How can i delete old outdated emails from my ipad?

Ipads and Iphones remember every email I have ever used. Even if I make a typo or if I have deleted an old email. There seems to be no way of deleting them. Now I find that when I was in a hurry and sent an email to "Teresa" the choices that come up are the new AND the old one. Also, my husband thought his gmail was [email protected] but it REALLY was [email protected] The devices remember both so when I copy him on an event i am offered both choices and have to debate with myself which is correct. Any know a way to fix this???

Hi Ritahyde - There is a way to remove recent email addresses that you have used on your iPad and iPhone as long as they are not in your contacts. To do this, create a new email and start typing the email address that he would like to delete. As soon as it pops up, there will be on the right-hand side a circle with the letter "I". Tap on that circle and you will be taken to your recent email address and at the bottom you can click on "remove from recents".
Now, if you do not see that circle icon to the right of that email address, that means that you have saved this email address in your contacts and you need to delete it from there first.

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it. and there should be.
Try this, I never have but it should work.
on your touch go to
1 Settings
2 Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3 select your email account ( the one with 1500 emails)
4. scroll down and select Advanced
5. select Remove
6. select After one day ( the default is never)
tomorrow your 1500 emails should be gone. any new emails should be there.
You may want to keep the setting at one day, one week, one month or never. BUT you should probably cleanup and delete some of those 1500 old emails.

If I've understood you correctly and if you've used that exact same command It's not surprising it won't work. Perhaps you've forgotten but Cyrus is not part of 10.6 Server. It was replaced with Dovecot. I've not used 10.6 Mail Services yet so I'm not certain but I think deleting the User deletes the mailbox?
Perhaps someone who is can verify?

I know what my password should be but when I made it I guess I put it in wrong. so basically, I don't know my password. I tried putting it in but now everything is disabled and it says "connect to itunes" . now I just want to restore it but everytime I try restoring it, it says "The iPad software update server could not be contacted." "Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active or try again later." This happened last night and ive tried about 30 times. the method I have been using is disconnecting the USB, turning the iPad off, then turning it back on while the USB is plugged back in. After that it says "connect to itunes" on the iPad. So what should I do now? I just got it for Christmas and I don't mind all the data being erased cause its not hard to put back on. so PLEASE just tell me how to do it. I also never synced it to my computer. so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me! And if you could tell me, how much would it cost to bring it into apple and they unlock it for me? id rather not do this, but if I have no choice, I will.

For more secure reason, I'd suggest to double check whether the data is removed cleanly with Erase All Content and Settings. The data is still recoverable as my pass experience. And no all devices are capable of using this method. Privacy is much more important. I highly recommend this method instead to permanently delete everything on your iPad by overwriting random digits to existing data. And there is no chance to get those data back.

If you are syncing your iPad with your computer, one way to delete all your contacts might be to connect the iPad to the computer, then in iTunes select the iPad in the sidebar. Once you've done that, go to the Info tab. Uncheck the box for syncing Contacts, then in the lower right, hit Apply. All the Contacts on your iPad will be gone.
You haven't asked for solutions to use Snow Leopard with iCloud, but there are some solutions for Mail, Address Book and Calendar.

Mail Mac has deleted all my emails from the server..how to get them back?

Mistakenly, I've changed the options in Mail app in Mac, which says "Remove copy from server after retrieving a massage" Immediately, and it deleted all my emails from the server. Is there anyway to return all my 3000 emails back to the server? cuz I want to access them from anywhere :S it's a hotmail account.

You can create a new IMAP account in Apple Mail, and move all the messages to the IMAP folders. They are synced with the server.
I don't know if hotmail supports imap though, I would prefer Gmail.

IIf you want to remove them from your device, remove the email account through Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calenders. Select the email account & tap Delete Account.
if you want to delete the emails permanently & in one go, you may be able to by logging into your email account through your browser from a computer.
