How do I delete an app after using "Add to Home Screen"?

I used the "Add to Home Screen" option from Safari. Then it added the app on my home screen. How do I delete it? It does not have an 'X' symbol when I make my icons wiggle. So, does anybody know how to actually delete this app from my iPhone?
I've heard about dragging it to the tenth page...BUT, I am not interested in leaving it on my phone taking up space. I want it off. I was just testing out its functionality.
Thanks

If you plug in your device to the computer, the iTunes page will appear.  Click onto your device on the lefthand side, then select "Apps" at the top of the ensuing page.  You will see all your applications you have on the device.  Right click onto the app you wish to delete, and follow the directions.  That should remove it from your device.
Hope it works.

  • How do I move an app icon to my main home screen?

I just got my first iphone today, and downloaded my first app.  It appeared on a screen, but not the screen I see when I access my phone.  How do I move it to that screen if there is room for it?

Tap and hold the icon until it starts to wiggle. Drag it to where you want it.
    Best of luck.

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well.

  • How to permanently delete an app "Purchased" in AppStore?

How to permanently delete an app "Purchased" in AppStore? Apparently the deleted app remains in the Purchased folder and can't be deleted.

If it shows up in your dock, you can right click on it, select 'Options', then select 'Open at Login' to UNcheck it.
After that, if it remains on your dock after quitting the app, click and drag the icon off the dock and let go.
To delete it from your computer, open the Applications folder and drag the icon to the trash (or you can use something like AppCleaner, which I love).

I'm in the same boat as you -- except that I manage both a school lab (volunteer job) and macs in the enterprise (pay job).  What I think we need is the Education Volume Purchasing Program
    http://www.apple.com/education/volume-purchase-program/faq.html
Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software.  (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.)  The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance.  I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers.  When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install.  We did!  But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!

How can i delete an app on my desktop that says it won't delete because it's still open, even though i have done force quit numerous times? I even deleted it's files in my Finder and it just won't go away.  Help please!! TIA

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper 2.0.1
        2. AppDelete 3.2.6
        3. Automaton 1.50
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner 2.1.0
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash 1.8.2
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller 1.15.1
      10. Spring Cleaning 11.0.1

    Remove documents from iCloud
You can remove documents stored in iCloud by deleting them from any of your devices that have iCloud set up for Documents & Data. Removing your documents from iCloud reduces the amount of iCloud storage space you’re using.
Remove iCloud documents from your iOS device
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage.
Under Documents & Data, tap the app that has a document you want to delete, then tap Edit.
Remove iCloud documents from your Mac
Open iCloud preferences, then click Manage.
Select an app on the left, then select one or more documents on the right.
Click Delete (below the list of apps).
You can also remove documents from iCloud by moving them to your Mac with OS X v10.8 or later. For instructions, use go to the Finder on your Mac, choose Help > Help Center, then search for “save documents.”

how can we delete the request after compression? is it possible ?if so how?

    Hi,
    You basically have 3 options:
    1. Use selective deletion and delete the error records.
    2. Do reverse posting and negate the error records.
    3. This is my preference. Delete all the data from the cube. RSA1 -> cube -> right click -> delete data -> choose "fact and dim" from pop-up. Now reconstruct all the requests that you need i.e ignore the error request. But before all this make sure you have the PSAs for all the request.

  • How do I delete past app purchases?

How do I delete past app purchases?

If you mean from your purchase history then you can't currently permanently delete them - you can just hide (and unhide) them so that they are less visible : hiding and unhiding purchases.
If you just want to the delete an app from your iPad then press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. You cannot delete any of the Apple built-in apps e.g. Music/iPod, App Store, Game Centre etc. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'
