How can i delete an additional email address that is linked to my apple id?

When I first created my Apple ID Gmail address was my primary address. I have made purchases using the Gmail ID. I have since added an outlook.com address to the ID and made the outlook.com address the primary. The Gmail is now just a secondary email. I want to delete the Gmail address. If I delete the Gmail address will I lose all my purchases?

If you haven't already removed the email address from your contacts in cloud, you may want to start there. If that doesn't work, then you may be out of luck. Unfortunately, smartphones remember things we don't want them to :-(

Edit the list the comes up when you go to the Window menu and select "Previous Recipients".

If that AüpleID has been disabled for security reasons, you may not be able to access it. Then you need to give Apple Support a call: only they will be able to help you. See this webpage on how to contact Apple Support in your country: There are either telephone numbers given or an email form:

I would like to delete obsolete email addresses from appearing in the Address line of my outgoing email. My address book only has the current email address of each person. Why does the old addresses appear?

Check Window > Previous Recipients for that user name and see if the old addresses are there. If they are delete them.

I created an appleID account to use with the mac AppStore without realising i previously had an appleID account from my first iPod touch.
Now with OSX 10.8 I want to use the email address from the old account with the new account for Messages.app without having to manage 2 logins.
I've followed the steps found on the support page http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68 under the section "How to add an additional email address that is already associated with another Apple ID" but each time I attempt to add the removed email address from the new account to the old account the input box shows the error: Email address is already verified for another Apple ID.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?

Every time I start writing an email address I get this list of suggestions of any similar addresses I have ever used - many of which are either wrong or not wanted & have never even been in my Contacts list! Its really annoying as the "wrong" ones are usually near the top of the list!!

The only way that I currently know of to remove old or incorrect email addresses is to restore the device back to factory defaults, which is somewhat extreme. You can try leaving feedback, and hopefully one day we'll get a way of editing them http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

From what I understand is that your brother no longer has access to the email being used for the Apple ID. He will be able to change his Apple ID if you follow the instructions in the article below:

Hello to everyone on this great forum,
I have been having trouble trying to find out how to delete the old typed email history. For an example, if I go to send a picture to Bob, I start typing Bob and it comes up with 3 old emails of his. Not a big deal except it's hard to keep track of what emails are current.
In other words, after deleting the old emails in the contacts it still shows up when I start typing a person's name.
