How do I delete an iBook purchase from my account?

I need to delete a purchased iBook which is not suitable for my children to read.
How do I do it?

Hi Evan, in the iTunes Store on the right hand side there is a quicklink to Purchased. Click that, and it has a page which has links to click at the top (music, apps, etc) , one of these is books. Once you have all your books up on screen, if you mouse over any given book, an 'x' appears to the left of the book. If you wish to delete that book, click the 'x', it should then no longer be downloadable. At least that is my experience. Hope this helps!

It sounds like you are no longer getting text messages becuase your Apple ID is still using your phone number for iMessage. I would use these steps to unlink your phone number from your account:
Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

How can I delete permanently books purchased from ibooks

Is there a way to delete purchases permanently from iBooks? I can delete from the library, but you can still see them under purchases; I don't want them under purchases; I don't want to see them ever again.

I was unable to delete a book sample from my iPhone 5s running iOS 7. This seems to be what worked for me. I went to the Library and clicked "edit" in upper right side of the screen. I then tapped one time on the book I wanted to remove and a blue check appeared at the bottom right corner of that book (presumably you could tap several at a time) Anyway, when the blue check is on the book, you will see in the upper left of the screen the word "Delete" (mine was in red) I clicked that and then a confirming dialog came up from the bottom of the screen with the choices of "delete" or "cancel". I chose "delete" and the book was gone. Hope this helps.

You can only delete individual computers if you have access to them. When you five authorizations in total you can choose to deauthorize all, then reauthorize the ones you want to use. You then can't repeat that process for a year. In short there is nothing you can do until you have five authorisations. Change your password just in case you left yourself signed in on the old one with no confirmation for purchases.

If your system crashes or you reinstall your operating system without deauthorising iTunes first, even a single computer can use up your limit of 5 authorisations. You can't deauthorise those dead installations individually. However once you've reached your limit of 5 you have the option to deauthorise them all in one go from your iTunes Store account and start over again. *Just note that you can only use this option once a year*: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation
To deauthorise all computers associated with your account:
1. Click iTunes Store in the Source pane.
2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

You cannot delete Apps from the Purchased list. you can however hide them.
You can only do this from iTunes on a computer, it cannot be done on your iPad. It doesn't need to be your own computer. You can borrow one with iTunes and login with your account.

Simply open itunes, go to itunes store right above you can see your apple id click it, if asked write your password, click edit of payment information and select none near from the visa,mastercart and american express logos. Make sure your billing info is still there dont delete it.

Updating apps don't cost anything. If they have iOS devices, they're probably making in-app purchases. Many apps, particularly games, are free for the base game but charge for additional features such as levels, "coins" and other such add-ons. To prevent this from happening again, turn off "In App purchases" in the Restrictions settings on your device. You may also want to turn off the ability to install apps, to prevent purchases in case the child gets hold of your iTunes Store account information, and set the password to be required immediately. but I'd suggest just setting up the parental restrictions on the iOS devices and in iTunes on your computer, if applicable, so they just can't buy anything on their own.

You cannot do it online. Only speaking with CS or stopping by a Verizon store would you be able to do so.

If the book is also downloaded on your phone then you should be able to delete it in the same way, via the Select button at the top of the bookshelf in the app on your phone.
If the book is only in the cloud and not downloaded, then you can either hide all icloud books on your phone by tapping on the collection name at the top middle of the bookshelf on your phone and scroll down to the bottom of it and hide icloud books ; or you can hide individual books via your computer's iTunes (iBooks app if using a Mac with Mavericks or Yosemite on it) : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
