How do I delete applications?

Hi everyone,
I know this is probably the stupidest question you've ever heard, but how do I delete the applications on my Tour that I didn't download? I don't use AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, or anything like that, and I can't figure out how to delete them. When I select the app and hit the menu button, there's no "delete" option. I also have some NFL app that was installed after the update, which I definitely don't need. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it! =)

If they are what I am thinking, those are actually icons pushed from your carrier and not applications. If thats true the best you can do is hide them. You can also do the following if they are indeed applications:
Go to options > applications > menu > view modules > delete all modules that show the application name.
If you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to click the "Accept as Solution" button so that others can more easily find it. If anyone has been helpful to you, please show your appreciation by clicking the Star on the left of their post.

If you mean from your purchased list, you can't.  The app store keeps a permanent list of your previous purchases so you can redownload them if desired.

    Hey shethompson,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you want to uninstall an application. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
OS X Yosemite: Install, update, and uninstall apps
Apps downloaded from the Mac App Store: Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock, hold down an app’s icon until all the icons begin to jiggle, then click an app’s delete button . If you later want the app, you can reinstall it from the Mac App Store.
If an icon doesn’t have a delete button, it can’t be uninstalled in Launchpad. For more information about Launchpad, see Use Launchpad to view and open apps.
Apps that have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. If an app is inside a folder, it might have an Uninstaller. Open the app’s folder. If you see Uninstall [App] or [App] Uninstaller, double-click it and follow the onscreen instructions.
Apps that don’t have an uninstaller: In the Finder sidebar, click Applications. Drag the app from the Applications folder to the Trash (located at the end of the Dock), then choose Finder > Empty Trash.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a great day,
    Mario

  • HT4082 How do I delete application

I need to know how to delete applications on my ipad

Press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. You cannot delete any of the Apple built-in apps e.g. Music, App Store, Game Centre etc. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

    Yes,
in 6.1 it is possible to delete an application via console.
Just right click on the deployment and use the delete option to delete the app

  • How Do I delete Applications I don't use from my iTouch

    Hi there
Can anyone guide me on how to remove applications from my iTouch?

Touch any app until all the apps vibrate. An "x" will appear in the upper left hand corner of purchased apps. Touch the x and the app will vanish from the screen. When you've finished editing, press the Home key to register the change and stop the apps from shaking.
Any apps without the x are Apple apps and can't be deleted. You can however, move them out of the way to, say, the last screen so at least their out of sight.

  • How to retrive deleted applications?

I accidentally deleted iPhoto off of my Launchpad, but neither the files or the application itself appeared in my trash. Is there a way to retrive both the files and the actual application? I have OS 10.7.5 (Lion). Thank you!

Retrieving the Application can be done via a reinstall of Lion since it comes with iLife Applications.  Check your App store account first.  It may be listed there.  Or if you have Time Machine, it should be available there.
As far as the files go, they should be in your Pictures folder.  If not, Time Machine or any other backup should have them.  Otherwise I fear the worst.
    Ciao.

  • How i can delete Apps Cash ?

Hello everyone, How i can delete Application Cash, My iPhone 4S Storage is full !!!, When i log to the Usage i see the Applications take huge size, for Example: App Size: 46.7 MB , Document & Data : 230 MB , See this image:

If you delete an app, it's data is also deleted.  But apps take a relatively insignificant amount of space. You would do better to delete films, photographs or music, which take up far more space.

  • Delete applications on ipod touch

How can I delete applications from the ipod touch? Thanks

By the way if you remove the app through your iPod you will also have to delete it in iTunes by going to the Applications tab, selecting the app in question and pressing delete to completely delete it or else every-time you sync the app will be reinstalled.
If you have a problem with a specific app, I usually just uninstall it through my iPod then just sync it with iTunes. It will reinstall the app and that has always fixed any problems for me.

I tried to use the attached command through TERMINAL :
    sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/Dock/*.db "DELETE from apps WHERE title='Help';" && killall Dock
sqlite3: Error: too many options: "DELETE from apps WHERE title='Help';"
Use -help for a list of options.
But i didn't work as I got the above error message.

I'm in the same boat as you -- except that I manage both a school lab (volunteer job) and macs in the enterprise (pay job).  What I think we need is the Education Volume Purchasing Program
    http://www.apple.com/education/volume-purchase-program/faq.html
Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software.  (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.)  The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance.  I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers.  When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install.  We did!  But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!
