How do I delete apps from iTunes

I have a number of apps listed in iTunes (not on my iPhone or iPad) that I no longer use.
How do I get rid of them from the list of Apps it wants me to sync.

Click on Apps, under Library ( left side of the itunes screen).
Click on the app.
Hit your delete key.

If you have the left-hand sidebar showing click Apps under Library, if you don't have the left-hand sidebar showing then click Done at the top right of the screen to go back to your library and then select Apps via the selection button top left.
You will now be able to permanently delete apps from itunes - Select app - right click - delete - send to recycle bin

  • How do I delete apps from iTunes for iPhone?

Okay, I delteted the app from my iPhone, but iTunes wants to reinstall it. No obvious way to delete the app from iTunes. Of course, when I find out how, it will be facepalm time.
    Thanks,

    Thanks for the responses!
Path to get to iPhone Apps in 10.6.7 is:
    Users::your_name::Music::iTunes::Mobile Applications
It would have been easier to just search for the App name, duh. Hindsight is so 20/20.

Hello.  I have some apps that I purchased from the App Store and transferred to my iPad.  Having now tried all the apps, there are some I wish to delete. How can I delete them from the apps section of iTunes?

Thank you very much.  All is now well.

  • How do I delete apps from itunes history and stopping autodownload to laptop?

I've seen this discussion thread a million times over on the apple support forum. I want ot delete a game I downloaded for free on my ipad that are over a GB each in size. All I can do is hide them on my itunes account on the computer, but they keep on autodownloading each time I start itunes.
I have unticked the automatic downloads boxes for music apps and books under preferences->store in itunes but they keep on downloading each time I start itunes. I DON'T WANT THEM APPLE! Just cos I made the mistake once to download them and then changed my mind, you're going to keep insisting I have them?! I have a limit on my broadband usage so don't want to download 5GB each time I open itunes thanks.
    Ridiculous....

  • How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad?

How can I delete apps in iTunes and have that sync to my iPhone and iPad? I don't want to delete 3 separate times for each item. I just carefully chose 30-35 apps to get rid of via iTunes, hoping it would sync to my devices, only to find I have to repeat the process on my iPad, take notes, then repeat it on my iPhone. It wasn't always so tedious was it?
Here's the "Help" I got from Apple. They even quoted my question back to me then proceeded to answer with something very different and completely missing the point.
I understand that you would like to delete the Apps. I know how eager you are to get the required information and I will be happy to assist you.
You can remove individual songs, audiobooks, and videos from your iPod, iPhone, or iPad. Removing an item from your device doesn't delete it from your iTunes library.
To remove items from a device other than an iPod shuffle, first make sure that iTunes is set up to manually manage items.
    1. Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer.
    2. When the iPod, iPhone, or iPad icon appears in iTunes, select it.
    3. Unless your device is an iPod shuffle, click the Summary tab and make sure "Manually manage music and videos" or "Manually manage music" is selected.
    4. If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod, iPhone, or iPad (below Devices) is closed, click the triangle so that you can see the device's contents.
    5. Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
This was not helpful in any way and I am still unable to delete apps on my devices in a global, iTunes based way. Each device still requires its own independent process.

Match was off.  I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option.  I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back.  This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work.  It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes.  However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

How do I delete apps from my iCloud storage that I no longer want or use?

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them via your computer's iTunes so that they don't show in the Purchased links for redownloading : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

How can I delete apps from my computer and subsequently have this filter to my ipad, iphones?

If you are syncing through iTunes to manage content on your iPad and iPhones (not using iCloud), you can "filter" what goes on each device in iTunes.
To do this, select the device in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES).  Over to the right, go to the Apps tab.  On that screen, select the apps you want on the device.  Apply the change.
So each device can have a different set of apps, from your overall library in iTunes that has everything.  There is no need to delete the app from your iTunes library in order for it to be delete from a device.
But if you DO want to delete an app from your iTunes library, select Apps in the iTunes sidebar (under LIBRARY).  Over to the right, find and select the app you want to delete.  Right (or Control) click on the app and select Delete.

Tap on the app you want to delete until the icon starts to shake, then tap the little cross to remove it from your device, press the home button to stop the shaking of the icons.
Or deselect the app you don't want on your phone in the app pane in iTunes and sync after that.

Instead of removing the music from the cloud or the iTunes library why not shuffle your music using a Smart Playlist which excludes the holiday music, or tracks that are not checked. For example, use this very simple Smart Playlist:
