How do I delete apps from my iPod touch?

seemingly simple question but I have searched and haven't found an answer. How do I delete an app (or anything else) from my touch 2nd gen? Also I'm trying to get an app loaded from my iTunes (on MBP) onto this new touch-can't figure it out. It syncs but still no new app. what obvious thing am I missing here? Thanks.

you can delete apps from your Touch by tapping once (and keeping your finger) on the touch screen until the screen goes wobbly. an "x" will appear on the apps and if you tap that, the app will be deleted.
another option is to deselect the app(s) when your device is connected to iTunes, then initiate a sync.

on your home screen, swipe to left to see more screens with apps. or use the search function on the Touch.

How do I delete apps on my Ipod touch, it wont give me the little x option to delete them, could it be because my Ipod has restrictions?

To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to Restore the Device as New...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
You will not be able to perform a backup as this would include the Restrictions passcode... which is what you have to remove...

    - You can't delete the apps that came with the iOS.
    - You can set Restrictions to prevent deleting apps. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions to check.

Apps that came with the iPod/iOS can't be deleted. You can set a Restrictions which prevents deleting apps.
    You can redownload apps by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
I do not know where you are looking when you say the iCloud icon.

  • How do i transfer apps from my iPod Touch to my iPhone

My friend is upgrading to the iPhone 4 and is giving me his iPhone 3G, what I want to know is, once he has reset it to factory so that is needs to be plugged into iTunes to work, can I just plug it in and sync my apps over? and how do I do this without losing the data on them?

You can restore the iPhone 3G from the backup of your iPod Touch and "most settings" will transfer.
From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414, "If you upgrade or otherwise replace your device with a newer device, you may be able to restore the previous backup to the new device....You can upgrade one device with the backup from a different type of device; most settings will transfer to the new device."
None of the app data is stored in the app itself, but in the iPhone or iPod backup.

  • How do I delete albums from my Ipod touch

hi really dim question I expect but my husband loaded loads of albums on my ipod touch that I really don't want - how can I delete single albums to free up memory for the ones I do want.

You can either delete them from your iTunes library and the next time you sync, the content will be deleted from your iPod. Or you can choose to manually manage your music (the option to do that is on the iPod preference when you plug your iPod in the computer). If you do manually manage, you can click on the triangle next to the iPod icon in iTunes, after you plug it in. Go to the library of your iPod and find the songs and delete them. This option is god if you don't want to delete the songs from your iTunes and only from the iPod.

im trying to download oovoo to my ipod touch and i cant figure out how exactly to do it

Unless you initially setup the account without a credit card, Apple requires a valid payment method even for free apps. You can:
    - Try purchasing and redeeming an iTunes gift card,
    - Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
    Note:
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

iTunes is not seeing your iPod:
    See
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Then do the other actions of:

paying special attention to item #5
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

How do I delete audio from my ipod touch?

    Hello ListenIt,
While the following was written for the iPhone, the process should be the same on your iPod Touch.
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

  • How do I delete unwanted built in apps from my ipod touch ios 5.1.1

How do I delete unwanted built in apps from my iPod Touch, ios 5.1.1?  I want to conserve memory on my device.

Well, you can't delete them totally...but you could stop using them or reset them. Just erase everything you use in those apps. You could also block them using parental controls, this will take them off your home screen but no, you cannot completely delete these apps.
    Hope this helps you
