My Friend Got a new Number so I deleted his old number. But when I go to text messages and click on the box in the upper right corner for a new message and type his name in, Not only does his new number show up, but his old number does also that I deleted and replaced with the new number. When I go to contacts under his name only his new number is there. How do I delete his old Number from the text message History?

that's also my problem how to delete contacts history. try to go to message, select new message- then enter his/her number. u will see there the old number that was deleted already. then tap the ( i ) symbol at the right side, then you will see there "remove from recents". and it will not appear anymore. deleted contacts will not appear anymore. it worked for my iphone 4s w/ the latest ios 7 update.

If you are only wanting to reduce the visual clutter and make scrolling through the list faster, you could set up a group on the computer containing only the contacts you want to see on my phone (called, for example, "Show on my Phone") and enable only that group inside Contacts on the phone. You might even have one or more existing groups that you could enable that way (maybe "Family" and "Personal").

iMessages are not stored in iCloud, they are stored on the iMessage server. If you want to delete them from the server, you'll have to delete them from your phone. (SMS messages are stored on your carrier's server.)

t am trying to delete the history of the most used contacts on my iPad mini, which had been updated to to the new iOS 8.
I know I can delete the history of the apps I use on my iPad by pressing the home button 3 times quickly and then flicking them upwards. When my iPad is in this modus, I also see the pictures of the people that I contact via FaceTime and Messenger. But I can't seem to get this particular information deleted from my iPad history. How do I do this? (I know I can erase full conversations in each app. I want to erase the history of the contacts itself).

You're welcome. If you use your iPad primarily in landscape mode like I do, you have to remember to always swipe down the entire page as well when you are looking for certain features. Sometimes I forget to do that myself.

I deleted the message exchanged with that number, yet the phone number still pops up as "Hubby" when I try to type in a a contact. How do I download pics & videos from text messages to my computer?

I have tried a couple seemingly obvious workarounds in an attempt to get some photos and videos from my text messages on my phone to my computer, but it's not working. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

First suggestion, read your owners manual. How to hook your phone to your pc or mac is in there.
You have a few ways to transfer first is take your usb cable and hook to your computer. Make sure its set for usb mass storage. If the photos are on internal storage the folder for photos/pictures are in DCIM. Videos should be in the Video Folder.
If your photos and videos are on a microSD card tge computer while hooked will show this sd card as another drive.
However if you have a sd card reader which most companies include with the sd card today, you can simply place into your computers sd card reader slot. No slot no problem. The sd card readers today are also able to hook via usb. If you don't have one you can buy one for cheap.
You can also use bluetooth via paring to your computer. However this method is a little quarky so use the other two.

You need to hook up your iPhone, select it under Devices, and then go to the Photos tab on the Device Profile, and uncheck Sync Photos, then sync. That should delete all photos that were downloaded from your computer.
When you say you have 2 separate albums of the same sets of pictures, what 2 albums are you referring to? Can you provide us with names of those "duplicate" albums?
