How do I delete disconnected thumbnails in Elements 11?
In previous versions, I could easily do this using Reconnect All Missing Files, but Reconnect no longer has an option to delete thumbnails, that I can see.

Just compare your catalog to the physical catalog book you get for an art museum : you have all sorts of information about the paintings, their authors, descriptions, indexes... and you are shown a small 'thumbnail' for each painting. That is to enable quick identification of the paintings.
In a catalog, each thumbnail is a very small reduction of the original. All those thumbnails are stored in the catalog folder itself, in a file named thumbs.5.cache.
Now, about 'disconnected' files.
There is some ambiguity here : 'disconnected files' are media files for which the path stored in the database is wrong. The reason is generally because the media file has been moved, renamed or deleted. There is still the old path in the database, but it is no longer valid.
For 'offline' media, that means that the physical drive is disconnected, but the paths stored in the database (catalog) are still correct. You simply have to plug in your external media to give the organizer or editor access to the real media file.

Simply right click and choose delete from the contextual menu. Remember that an album is only a list (a kind of 'playlist') of files. If you have deleted the files, the album list is empty. If you have not deleted the files, the list is deleted, not the files it points to.

I am trying to delete my photos from Adobe (I think Premier) Elements. I am also trying to delete the albums.
I think I have 667 photos on it, and may 30 albums.
When I select photos and then click delete, message comes up: The request operation could not be completed because the catalog is currently locked by another process.
Also, in selecting some photos to delete, it says to reconnect to photo source. It would take way too long to go through entire photo collection and reconnect photos to source.

Got it fixed! The Folder was set to Open With Terminal!
Maybe when you moved it over from your other system, the Open With got changed? To change this, in your Finder, select the iPhoto library from your User/Pictures folder and do a Get Info on it Command+I.
Then change the Open With to iPhoto application!
Then from the Finder, double click the iPhoto Folder and it will be opened with iPhoto! WALLA it worked!

This is not Adobe. Rather user to user. We are all visitors here.
Just a bit of history....back in the days of Premiere Elements 4, you could set a "poster frame" in what was called the Project area. You did this by right clicking a blank area there and, from the drop down menu that appeared, selecting View/Preview Area, and using the poster frame feature there.
As I said, when a video imports into Premiere Elements, the thumbnail of the import has been presenting as the first frame of the video. With this Preview area "poster frame" option, you could set the video's thumbnail in the Project area so that the first frame was another frame in the video. But, this "perk" was restricted to thumbnails of the video in Project area.
If you exported to file with the first frame modified video, the export's thumbnail in Windows Explorer would present with other than the real first frame or the poster frame as the first frame.
Also, in more recent versions, I have observed that the export to file does not display the real first frame of the video in Windows Explorer. Seems random, but I have not kept track.
And, remember, at the onset I wrote
As far as I have ever seen, Premiere Elements Windows uses the first frame of the video for its thumbnail in the program.
I know of no way within Premiere Elements to control what the program opts to do in this matter. In some compatibility
issues, it opts to give no image but a generic one.
I did not say that you can expect to have the Premiere Elements' export file's thumbnail in Windows displaying with its real first frame. And, the more you get into this, depending on the versions, more details need to be added to my comment about "...first frame of video for its thumbnail in the program..."
I would have to look into all this further to get perspective on the contributing factors.

I own the movies and I want them to stay in my iTunes library basically forever.
But in both cases the file name no longer shows in the movie list, so I don't know how to re-download it from the Cloud.
iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.
Actually, no it does not tell you that.
FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

Shift-click the photos or Ctrl-click them to select them, then right-click one of them and choose Delete from Catalog. They will all go together.

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

Which version of ELements you are using?
If it is ELements 12, are you logged into Revel from Elements? If yes, did you connect to Elements from a ps.com migrated account and using same upgraded catalog from previous version of Elements? Or have you used the same catalog in ELements 11 with Revel and now using with Elements 12?

When you select files to delete from catalog you get a dialog asking if you want to delete ALSO from disk : you don't. Simply don't check the check box.
