How do I delete Facebook contacts

I'm trying to get rid of Facebook birthdays and contacts on both my iPhone 4S and ipad.
Settings- FB- Allow these Apps to use your account is turned off and updated but nothing changes

Settings>Facebook...turn off contacts.

Hmmmm...maybe try deleting them again (I know it's a pain) and then doing a manual icloud backup (unless you already did this). Icloud may be putting them back on there. I never allowed FB to put the contacts on my phone lol. Also try going into Privacy and Contacts...make sure FB isn't on in there. Might be a few other spots to check under settings to make sure too. And...you might want to try deleting the FB app, do a icloud backup, and then reinstall FB

Deleting facebook contacts?!

When I signed up, skype gave me the option to merge my contacts with facebook, I clicked yes but now allll of my facebook friends are contacts, even those without skype! ive tried to right click and delete contact but they keep appearing back when i next log in! how do i remove the facebook link completely off my skype? im using windows 8 now so lots of help is appreciated!!

Unfortunately, you cannot delete Facebook contacts within Skype application.
try this.
Disconnect Facebook
In Skype, Click View >> Skype Home >> Click the blue (gear) button on the right
Remove Skype from your Facebook account (delete all Skype activity)

Try to reset skype settings
Exit Skype : From the system tray >> right click on the skype icon and click "Quit"
Click Start >> Run Type: %appdata% Rename folder "Skype" to "Old_Skype"
Re-run Skype
Note: You will need your password to re-log on, and re-set any options from default

Hi Cynthia! If you are syncing from something like Gmail you can go into the iPhones Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn off contacts. It will ask you if you want to delete them from your phone - just click delete. Exit Settings and turn phone off by power button (not all the way OFF). Then re-open Settings>mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn Contacts back on - This is where you need to be careful - When you turn contacts back on you will be prompted to delete or save the contacts already on your phone. CLICK DELETE. You should now have only your synced contacts on your phone! Hope it helps!

Is there a particular reason why you want to delete the contacts all at once? The only way you can delete all the contacts all one time would be to wipe the device. This will complete erase all data on the phone including the contacts.
You want to make sure you backup your device uisng the desktop manager. Once you perform the wipe you can then backup your contacts using the desktop manager and just make sure to uncheck the Contacts when backing up so they are not added back to your phone.

Cards for Facebook contacts that exist in your other account(s) will be linked but not compbined.
In otherwords, if you decide you don't want to turn off Facebook, you can turn it off and be right back where you started.

Under "contacts" "Groups" I have the "All Contacts" option at the top, underneath that i have 3 empty subfolders that have come in from my PC Outlook program. I've deleted these from Outlook, shut Outlook down, shut iTunes down, re started both programs and re synced my iPhone4 and iPhone5. They are still on the iPhone 4, just given to my wife, but have disappeared from my iPhone 5!

The fact that those internal contacts lists aren't editable is an irritation to many. I've submitted feedback to Apple several times on this, asking that in a future OS release they should either
Provide a way to directly access that list of 'Recent Addressees' and Delete unwanted ones, or
If not that, then at least mode it so that addressses selected from that list bubble up to the top, therefore over time moving the unused ones down out of sight.
Other have added their own ideas, and the more they hear on this topic the more likely a future fix will become. If you feel that you would like the change, then put together your best case for it and make your wishes known directly to apple via their established Feedback links:

There has to be a better way than gong through and deleting one-by-one.

Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one

Delete a contact from the iphone from the contact book : on top of the contact slide from left to rigth , press delete
NOTE : if you use the general search by sliding from left to rigth on main screen you are opennig a kind of search that will seach everything that as to do with what you type in the search will give results from : Contacts , messages , mail , apps ,etc
So if the contact that you delete can be found on a previus message or call or mail it will appear again ...
