Right Click or Control Click FaceTime Icon in Dock > Select Options > Make sure Open at Login is unchecked
You can also do this by removing FaceTime from "Login Items" found in:
System Preferences > Users & Groups > Your User > Login Items ( Tab ) > Highlight FaceTime then tap minus.
Right Click or Control Click FaceTime Icon in Dock > Select Options > Remove from Dock
Or you can Remove the icon from dock by dragging it off.
Note if FaceTime is Running it will show in the Dock, even if you choose Remove from Dock.
If this is the case the only way to remove it is to quit the app.

There's nothing to fix, you're not understanding. I was not suggesting to delete the contact entirely, just remove its "Favorite" status and re-add it as a Favorite but this time designate it as a "Voice Call" instead of FaceTime.
I think people get confused when using the FaceTime app they set up a "FaceTime Favorite", not realizing that doing so adds that contact entry to your phone's Favorites too, but as a FaceTime contact. Either that, or when adding a Favorite from within the phone's contact list, they inadvertently select FaceTime as the way to contact the person.

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? You have to figure out where it is being launched from. The standard locations are your user/Library/LaunchAgents, user/Library/LaunchDaemons, or user/Library/StartupItems. In the first two, it will be a .plist file. In the third, it is a folder. They will be named with the company, program name, or both.

You can't. Purchased content is tied to your ID forever. But, you can hide the apps and they will not be able to download them again. You have to do this on a computer. You may have to sign out of the App Store on the iPad and then sign in again, before the apps finally disappear.

So I've got a folder on my hard drive, in my work in progress folder. I finished that bit of work, deleted the folder and its contents, just as I normally do. But then it came back. with just one empty folder inside. And it keeps coming back, every time I restart. Some of the content was created by Capture One - don't know if that's what's causing it.
Any ideas?

The outer folder I created. The one inside which I think is the culprit was created by Phase One Capture One Pro, a raw image processing application, which creates its own folders for each session. It's never done that before or since though.

I did this with about 100 songs, and the problem is everytime I connect my iphone with itunes, It will automatically sync back every single song I did delete on the phone by swiping.
I did search on google and found out that serveral people has this problem. The songs wont delete from itunes library.
So why do they even make this function if it only deletes the songs for a short time?

Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. Either let it complete the download (easiest) or contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the Contact page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) and ask them if they'll remove the item(s) from your queue for you.

You can only delete them one at a time on the iPad. If you have an IMAP email account, go to your email in on the server using a web browser and select as many as you can at a time and delete them that way. That action will be reflected on the iPad. In IMAP - whatever you do on one device syncs across all devices. If you have POP email - start deleting one at a time.

Try this as well - go to Settings>General>Restrictions. If you turned on restrictions you may have disabled those apps - or at least Facetime - and they/it will not appear on the iPad until you turn off the restrictions.
You will not lose anything if your restart your iPad.
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in FaceTime or PhotoBooth and hit go on the keyboard. If they show up - you will know they are on the iPad somewhere.
