How do I delete/hide app purchase on the iPad?

Subject is the question/problem.

I don't believe you can do it directly from the device anymore but need to do it through iTunes:

How do I delete past app purchases?

If you mean from your purchase history then you can't currently permanently delete them - you can just hide (and unhide) them so that they are less visible : hiding and unhiding purchases.
If you just want to the delete an app from your iPad then press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. You cannot delete any of the Apple built-in apps e.g. Music/iPod, App Store, Game Centre etc. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'

  • How to permanently delete an app "Purchased" in AppStore?

How to permanently delete an app "Purchased" in AppStore? Apparently the deleted app remains in the Purchased folder and can't be deleted.

If it shows up in your dock, you can right click on it, select 'Options', then select 'Open at Login' to UNcheck it.
After that, if it remains on your dock after quitting the app, click and drag the icon off the dock and let go.
To delete it from your computer, open the Applications folder and drag the icon to the trash (or you can use something like AppCleaner, which I love).

  • How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad?

How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad?  These files were created on my MBA and when I changed the media type to iTunesU and then copied it to my iPad via iTunes, they did not appear.  I can see them using 3rd party software, but they don't have delete functionality.
    Thanks
    York

Interesting note:  I can see the files when I use the search function, but when I tap either file, I return to my home screen.  The video does not open.  I can transfer the file to my MBA, and it plays fine, but I cannot figure out a way to delete them.

  • How do I delete from app purchases an unwanted or unusable app (not being supported anymore)?

I have purchased apps that are not needed and I want to remove them from my purchases. How can these be deleted from my purchased app page? I know how to delete them from my device, but they stick around forever in purchases.

They stick around because that's a record of your purchases. You can, from iTunes on your computer, hide purchases. You can't unpurchase them, though.

  • How do i delete an app stored in the cloud?

i want to preeminently delete some old app out of my cloud account so i don't waste storage space with something I'm not using.

It isn't stored in your iCloud account and doesn't use any of your storage, it is only stored in the App store.  The iCloud download icon is just an link to your previously purchased apps in the App store, and it cannot be deleted.  If you don't want to see them on your purchased list you can hide them in iTunes on your computer as explained here: iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.

  • How do I get my apps purchased on the app store if I had to replace my Hard drive on my Macbook Pro?

I recently got a new hard drive for my laptop and lost everything, so I was wondering where i can go to retrive my apple purchases or if its even possible.

You can re download previous purchases for free using the same Apple ID they were purchased with originally.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
If you have problems, you may need to authorize the Mac.
Launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer
Then try re downloading previous purchases from the Mac App Store.

  • How do you enable in-app purchases for the iPod Touch?

I have apps like Puzzle Quest and Arena 9 on my iPod that have content I can buy from within the app, but whenever I try to purchase the said content, my iPod keeps saying "In-app purchases are currently disabled". I tried to find it in setting or on iTunes but I can't find a way to enable them.
    Assistance please? Thanks.
    Notes:
I have enough money on my account to purchase the content.
If ever I should have to deauthorize and reauthorize my iPod to fix this, doesn't that mean all my app data will be deleted? (e.g. game progress, files saved on my apps, etc)

First, what version of iOS do you have on your iPod touch? You need iOS 3 or iOS 4 for in-app purchases to be available.
If you have an appropriate version of iOS, go to Settings -> General -> Restrictions. If you can't get it, Restrictions are enabled and In-App Purchases may be set to "Off". You'll need the passcode set by whoever turned on the Restrictions to verify and if necessary change the setting.
    Regards.

  • How do i delete all my data from the ipad 4 from my PC?

I know what my password should be but when I made it I guess I put it in wrong. so basically, I don't know my password. I tried putting it in but now everything is disabled and it says "connect to itunes" . now I just want to restore it but  everytime I try restoring it, it says "The iPad software update server could not be contacted." "Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active or try again later." This happened last night and ive tried about 30 times. the method I have been using is disconnecting the USB, turning the iPad off, then turning it back on while the USB is plugged back in. After that it says "connect to itunes" on the iPad. So what should I do now? I just got it for Christmas and I don't mind all the data being erased cause its not hard to put back on. so PLEASE just tell me how to do it. I also never synced it to my computer. so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me! And if you could tell me, how much would it cost to bring it into apple and they unlock it for me? id rather not do this, but if I have no choice, I will.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!!!! :S

For more secure reason, I'd suggest to double check whether the data is removed cleanly with Erase All Content and Settings. The data is still recoverable as my pass experience. And no all devices are capable of using this method. Privacy is much more important. I highly recommend this method instead to permanently delete everything on your iPad by overwriting random digits to existing data. And there is no chance to get those data back.

  • How do I get my apps back on the iPad after OS upgrade?

I upgraded to OS 5 and all my apps are now gone from my iPad.  I can see them all in iTunes and all the data/photos are on the iPad, but none of the apps.  How do I restore or transfer the apps back to my iPad?  Help!

Understood, I do the same, but only as a backup since I no longer synch the iPad to iTunes which is not an unusual situation for iOS users these days. The implications of the origianl post are that the poster is looking to download directly to the iPad. No way of knowing since that user posted in Oct of last year and probably hasn't been back since.

  • How can I search different App Stores on the iPad without creating accounts for them?

I'm doing some research on the contents of different App Stores, and the only search feature that gives me all the data I need is the iPad store under iOS 5 or earlier. However, I cannot search a different store without creating an account and signing in, and to create an account I have to have a billing address in that store's country. iTunes on my Mac will let me search various stores without signing in (as long as I don't try to download), but iTunes doesn't give me all the information I need. Does anyone have any ideas for using iPad to search different stores without signing in?
    Thanks!

This will make a permanent change to the store location for that ID (at least, until I change it back). That *may* be useful (I won't know for a few hours because I don't have the iPad with me right now), but it's not what I want. Within the App Store I want to search a different store without having to sign in. I can do this easily enough in iTunes on my MBP and would really like to do it on the iPad too (because the iTunes app search doesn't give me all the info I need).
Thanks for the idea; stay tuned. I'll get back to you as soon as I get the chance to try it.

  • How to delete an app permantely from the ipad

does anybody know the answer to this question

Do you mean more than just deleting the app, where you hold your dinger on the app until it jiggles and you tap the x to remove the app from your home pages, but also from your purchased list in the App Store?  If that is your question, once apps are purchased, they are yours forever, which is why they stay in the purchased list.  But, if you want to hide it, you can hide it in iTunes on your computer.  This link will show you how:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4919
If you want to delete a native app, such as Videos, Music, iTunes, etc., you can not do that.
