    Hello aweirandyski.1975,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From what you're describing appears to be Activation Lock, a security measure provided by Apple that makes it harder for people to use a lost or stolen device.  You will need to enter the password for the Apple ID the device is prompting you for.

  • How to turn off "find my iphone" when all the buttons are disable about on/off in my icloud account?

MY APPLE ID AND ICLOUD ACCOUNT HAVE BEEN HACKED COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. ALL THE CONTENTS OF MY IPHONE HAS REMOVED. SO I HAVE RESTORED MY IPHONE BY USING MY OLD BACKUP. AND MY OLD ICLOUD ACCOUNT HAS RESTORED TO MY IPHONE AGAIN BUT THERE WAS NO ICLOUD ACCOUNT WITH MY EMAIL BECAUSE IT'S BEEN HACKED AND MY APPLE ID HAS BEEN SWITCHED TO HACKER'S EMAIL. SO I WAS NOT ABLE TO DELETE ICLOUD ACCOUNT, TO TURN OFF FIND MY IPHONE OR TO ERASE MY IPHONE. SO I M NOT STILL ABLE. I MEAN ALL THE BUTTONS IN MY ICLOUD ACCOUNT ARE DISABLE TO TAP. I WANNA ERASE MY IPHONE OR ERASE THE ICLOUD ACCOUNT.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
    WAITING FOR YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS...

According to Apple support, you cannot remove the phone on the device list under "find my iphone" until you turn it off and it goes offline.  (It also says the device will go back on "find my iphone" when it goes online again, which seems to mean you can successfully remove it, but as soon as you turn it back on it will be back on the list, and thus you will not be able to restore it.)  It's a bit of a conundrum.  In my case I couldn't for some reason turn off my phone  with the home/sleep buttons - nothing happens, the phone stays on.  While on a chat with Apple support, they got my iphone offline (I was able to turn it off by pressing the sleep button and swiping where the red "turn off iphone" arrow would have appeared) and removed it from "find my phone", but when I reconnected to itunes it turned on and reappeared in the "find my phone" list.  Luckily, the screen suddenly appeared (it had done this several times yesterday, just briefly), so I was able to turn off "find my device" from the phone.  I was then able to restore.  Unfortunately, this does not answer the question of how to remove the device from "find my iphone" and keep it off while connecting with itunes to restore (unless you have my good fortune of having the screen suddently reappear).  Apple support seemed puzzled that it had reappeared on the device list under "find my iphone".  Time will tell whether the restoration fixes the blank screen issue.

  • I had to change my apple ID due to someone else using it and changing the password, so now i can't sign out of icloud as the email is wrong and i dont have the password to turn off find my iphone. Help!

Basically, someone was hacking my apple account for a while and kept changing the password so i kept resetting it, now i've had to change my email as icloud still wouldn't accept my new passwords - even after being updated. Now i can't sign out of icloud due to it being the wrong email and an unknown previous password, as i can't turn off find my phone.ipad. How do i solve this without losing everything as i can't just delete the account and the usb ports on my laptop have gone so i can't back up to my laptop. I'm running completely on icloud but desperately need it to update so i don't lose all my uni work as well off my ipad.

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • How to turn off find my iphone without knowing icloud password

I just bought an Iphone 6+.
Backed up data and settings from old Iphone 5 onto Itunes and used Restore on new Iphone 6+ but contacts from old phone did not appear on new phone.
Tried backing up data from old Iphone 5 again onto Itunes.  However, when I tried to Restore again on Iphone 6+, I got a message saying I need to turn off Find my Iphone.  Unfortunately, Iphone requires Icloud password in order to turn off Find my Iphone feature and I am locked out of Icloud due to too many failed attempts.  I also cannot use the Icloud account associated with the old Iphone 5 as I cannot remember the answers to the security questions and I do not think I entered an alternate email address.
Anyway, short of wiping my new Iphone 6+, is there any way of turning off the Find My Iphone feature without keying in a icloud password?
On another note, I tried erasing all data and settings but could not because I had to key in a Restrictions passcode and I do not even know how a Restrictions passcode even got into my new Iphone 6+!.  1 way I am trying now is to key in my normal passcode wrongly more than 10x so that whole phone will be wiped but I am now at the stage where I have to wait 1 hr before entering another wrong passcode.
If anyone knows how to contact Apple so that I can ask them to reactivate my icloud account so that I can try some more passwords, that would be helpful.

  • I need to turn off 'find my iPhone' so that I am able to restore my phone but my screen is not working. I logged into my iCloud but was not able to turn it from here. How do I do this?!

My iPhone 4 screen stopped working. The phone is still on but the screen is not working at all, it is juts black. I was told restoring my phone might solve this problem so i plugged it into iTunes. When I click on the restore iPhone button a message popped up saying I needed to turn off 'find my iPhone' in phone settings for the restore to be go ahead. Problem is I cant access my phone!
I went onto my cloud account to see if i could do it from here but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Any ideas?

From your iCloud account, you can go to Find My Phone and remove the iPhone from your devices list which will release it, or you could do a remote erase of the iPhone from iCloud.

my phone is in for repairs and the shop say that I have to turn off "find my iphone", because otherwise they can not make it. How do I turn it off when I'm on computer?

    Hi josegrøn,
    Apple Help says:
Remove an iOS device or Mac on which you can’t turn off Find My iPhone
If you can’t turn off Find My iPhone on the device, turn off the device so it goes offline, then remove it from Find My iPhone on iCloud.com.
    Turn off the device.
Sign in to icloud.com/#find on another computer with your Apple ID (the one you use with iCloud). If you’re using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window, then click Find My iPhone.
Click All Devices, select the offline device, then click Remove from Account. If you don’t see Remove from Account, click All Devices again, then click the Delete (x) button next to the device.

I have tried to restore thorugh itunes but i have to turn off Find my iphone through setting on my iphone before i can - but I can't.  I have tried deleting the account through icloud.com but that hasn't worked eitheir. Can any one help? Thanks

  • Turn off Find My Iphone that had changed new email

    Dear all,
I want to delete iCloud from iphone 5s. I had changed to new email account due to someone hacked my email. However, my iphone didnt refresh to new email. When I want to log out it ask your password to turn off Find My Iphone with old email. Even though i try to use old password as well as new password, I doesn't work. Is there any ways to solve ? Please tell me. Thanks in advance.

You need to change to old email for apple id just long enough that will allow you to sign out. You will have about two three minutes to log out and as soon as you do change it back, It will ask you to verify, don't. Just log out and change it back.

  • HT201263 i cant restore my phone, I keep getting a message to turn off find my iphone, cant get into it b/c my daughter change the password and doesn't remember the password

help, i need to restore my phone, I keep getting an error to turn off find my iphone,  I can't get into the phone b/c my daughter change the password and doesn't remember what she changed it to.

Remove an iOS device or Mac on which you can’t turn off Find My iPhone
If you can’t turn off Find My iPhone on the device, turn off the device so it goes offline, then remove it from Find My iPhone on iCloud.com.
Note:   If you have an iOS device, you can also remove your device by first erasing it—just follow the instructions below to remove a device you don’t have. You can later restore the device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
If the device comes online again, it will reappear in Find My iPhone. To make sure your device doesn’t reappear, turn off Find My iPhone on the device (follow the instructions above to remove an iOS device or Mac), or if you have an iOS device, you can erase it, then remove it (follow the instructions below to remove an iOS device you no longer have).

  • HT201365 how do I turn off find my iphone?

I'm trying to restore a backup, but I keep getting a request to turn off Find My iPhone. It says that I should go to iCloud Settings and turn off Find My iPhone. However, on the iCloud Settings, Find My iPhone is greyed out.
I don't want to restore my iPhone to factory settings and Restore from backup because I get an error message at the end (saying that either the device - 4S - is not compatible or the backup is corrupt). I restored it once to factory setting and then managed to restore from an old back up (April). Now I'm stuck at this point. Why is it so difficult to find simple instructions from Apple?
