How do I delete icons of old applications in the menu bar?
How do I delete icons of old applications in the menu bar? I've tried holding down all three keys, control, option and command as well as every combination of them in twos and three and then clicking on the menu bar icon I want to remove and I only get the option to use the software, not to delete it.
Hold command and drag them off the Menu Bar, drag them at least a couple of inches. (or 50mm)

I'm having trouble figuring out how to add the user name in the menu bar. I used to have it showing along with the time & date etc. But i've looked everywhere trying to figure out how to do it. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you.The following is old but may still be valid with Yosemite (it addresses how to remove the name but indirectly also how to display it): http://osxdaily.com/2012/01/10/remove-user-name-from-menu-bar-os-x/

How do you delete bookmarks in your favorites on the bookmark bar?
How do your delete bookmarks that you no longer want?
Lynn
Are you using Safari, or Chrome? Firefox? If in Safari go to Bookmarks then Show All Bookmarks, look for bookmarks bar, right click on the bookmark and select delete. Chrome and Firefox are similar. Go to Bookmark Manager see where your bookmarks are right click and delete. Hope this helps!

Joseph

System icons displayed twice (double) in the menu bar
Since I upgraded my MacBook Air (mid 2011) to Mountain Lion I noticed that my system icons were very often displayed double:
I don't know if AirPlay is the only cause but it's a fact that after rebooting my machine with the AirPlay option activated my system icons appearing as here above.
I wondering if I'm the only one to have this issue !?!if you drag and drop the duplicates to remove them do they come back upon reboot?

Where has the iCloud icon gone in the menu bar
When iCloud where in the trial stage they had a little cloud icon top right side in the menu bar to drag and drop files to. I recentlywanted to upload docs to iCloud and noticed it had gone. I never log into iCloud from the Internet, after reading the threads, it seems this is the only way to save files to the cloud now, am I wrong?
Are you sure you aren't confusing iCloud with iWork.com? In any event, there's no menu icon. To upload iWork documents, go to http://icloud.com and go to the iWork page, pick the appropriate of the three programs, and drag the file in the Finder to the web page.

How do I delete old wifi networks from appearing in the wifi icon in the menu bar.
Just bought a new Airport Time Capsule and is up and running OK.
When I click on the wifi icon in the menu bar all my old wifi networks appear
which are then viewable by neighbours although the networks themselves are PW protected.
In system preferences>network>advanced I have deleted all my old N/Works allowing only
my new one to appear.
How can I delete the old networks I no longer use from re-appearing in the list under the wifi icon?
AlanWhen you delete old networks in System Preferences > Network > WiFi > Advanced, be sure to click the OK button, then click the Apply button in the next window that appears.
You also need to delete the old networks in KeyChain Access as follows:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > KeyChain Access
Click on the name of an old wireless network to highlight it
Click the Delete key on your Mac
Do the same for other old wireless networks that you no longer use, then restart your Mac. -

How do I delete or remove an application from my iPad.
How do I delete or remove an application from my iPad.
Press and hold any of the apps and after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake. Then press the 'x' in the left corner to delete the ones that you don't want, and when you've finished deleting press the home button so as to stop the shaking. You cannot delete any of the Apple built-in apps e.g. iPod, App Store, Game entre etc. If you don't get the 'x' on any of the apps that you've downloaded then check that Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps isn't set 'off'
If the app is on your computer's iTunes then you should probably also either delete it from there as well, or un-tick it from your iPad's sync list when you next connect it, otherwise it might get put back on the iPad. As long as the app remains in the app store you can always re-download it for free in the future (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519). -

How do I get rid of the menu bar icon on Mac OS?
The Creative Cloud menu bar icon on Mac OS is pretty much useless since I already have icons for all the apps and don't use Adobe Cloud storage. Anyone know how to get it off my menu bar? The menu bar is MY space. I ought to have control over what goes there. If every application starts dumping stuff there it will quickly become a mess. I want the option to turn this off.
Thanks! Most videos play "inline", not full screen, on Safari on iPad. You can use a quick "reverse pinch" gesture (as if you were zooming in, but more of a quick flick than a slow zoom) on top of the video to make it full screen.

How can i delete my icloud account but not the password to turn off the find my phone
how can i delete my icloud account but not the password to turn off the find my phone setting
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPad and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device). -

How can I delete pictures from my moments off the new IOS8
How can I delete pictures from my moments off the new IOS8 when it doesnt give me the option to delete the photo itself? The icon of the trash doesnt appear what so ever. This is the only thing im dissapointed in the IOS8 update. Theres not even a camera roll where you can delete the photo like the IOS7
Try this:
1. Start from the homescreen of your Iphone/pod (for dummies: where all of your "apps" are).
2. Look for an app on your homescreen titled "Photos", when you find it - Click it.
3. When the app opens, go ahead and look towards the bottom of your phonescreen.
You should see a navigation with three different options;
"Photos", "Shared" & "Albums"; Why don't you just go ahead and click on "Albums", there we go - Very nice!
4. On the next screen that appears, it should display your different albums.
Look for "Recently Deleted", and when you find it - Click on it.
It should be on that list somewhere (or there's a problem!).
5. Now you should see a screen displaying all of the recent photos you've deleted.
The term we know as "recent" to iOS is thirty days (that's 720 hours in people-time!).
You will have to click to each individual photo, however at the bottom left-hand cornor of every photo take notice of the 'Delete' option.
You're welcome.
