How do I delete my MobileMe mailbox

This is still showing as a mailbox alongside iCloud in ios5?
Thanks

Hey this is the problem "However it will continue to be accessible at http://icloud.com"
And every now and then I would need to check it
I ended up ringing them up earlier and the person I spoke to said he couldn't find a solution to delete it.
I've decided I'm going to keep it and forward e-mails from Outlook to iCloud as I like iClouds other features such as notes, reminders, calendars, work etc...
This is allowed, right? (forwarding)

How do I delete a MobileMe gallery? I open iPhoto where I created the album, right-clicked on the album to delete. Then I proceeded to watch an indicator dot with and arrow spin, and spin and spin. Finally the spinning stopped, but the album is still listed. Help! How do I remove these? This is also happening for Facebook albums I want to delete as well. Any thoughts?

under the MobileMe section in the source pane on the left drag the gallery to the iPhoto trash
    Same for facebook
If this is not working launch iPhoto while depressing the option(alt) and command (apple) keys and rebuild the library from the last automatic database backup

How do you delete a VIP mailbox from the mail app?

    From Mail help:
    Make a sender a VIP
To keep track of messages you receive from especially important people, make them VIPs in Mail. You can have up to 100 VIPs.
To make someone a VIP, move the pointer to the left of the sender’s name in the message header and click the star that appears. You can also move the pointer over the sender’s email address, click the arrow that appears, and choose “Add to VIPs” from the pop-up menu.A mailbox for the VIP is added to the Favorites bar. For example, if you make Dad a VIP sender, his messages are displayed in a VIP mailbox titled Dad.
To remove VIP status from a sender, click the VIP’s star in a message. The star is removed and the sender’s VIP mailbox is removed from the Favorites bar.
If a VIP has several email addresses in Contacts, messages from any of those addresses will appear in the VIP’s mailbox.
If you use iCloud Contacts, your VIPs are available on your other Mac computers that use iCloud Contacts and have OS X Mountain Lion installed.
So to remove a VIP mailbox, you would have to remove all its people, and then exit mail.

  • How can I Delete a MobileMe Email Account and Kill Duplicate Messages?

When I select "All Inboxes" on my iPhone 4s, I see duplicates of each and every message I receive. Furthermore, the duplicate can't be deleted and I get an error message informing so! I suspect this phenomenon is occurring because I have both an iCloud and a MobileMe account. I want to cancel the MobileMe one.
    Here's the deal:
My iPhone 4s lists three email accounts, including a "MobileMe" one that I want to delete because I believe it is delivering duplicate messages. However, I can't seem to figure out how to delete the MobileMe's email account or, for that matter, MobileMe itself. Apple support screens refer to cancelling a MobileMe account but are not clear on how to actually do it.
    1. On the iPhone 4s, I click on the "Mail" icon at the bottom of the screen
    2. On a screen under the heading "Mailboxes," under "Inboxes," there are two that read exactly the same (I think one is iCloud and the other MobileMe).
    3. On the same screen, under "Accounts," I see an iCloud account logo, a Bellsouth/Yahoo account logo and a MobileMe account logo.
    4. I want to keep the iCloud and Bellsouth/Yahoo accounts but delete the MobileMe one but I can find no way on this screen or any other iPhone 4s screen to do so. Nor do I see any path to do so in iTunes. And the MobileMe account doesn't even show up in the Apple email app on the laptop to which I sync my iPhone.
If I go to www.me.com and log into my MobileMe account, there is no apparent way to disable, delete or otherwise cancel it. Why?
I am convinced that the simultaneous presence of both iCloud and MobileMe accounts is responsible for the double email messages when I select to view "All inboxes" on my iPhone. (A workaround is to simply select just one of the accounts, say, the iCloud one. Then I see only one copy of each message. That's OK but surely there is some way to kill off this redundant MobileMe account AND the duplicate messages, yes???

First, thanks for the reply. And, I believe you are exactly right that the names are the same. However, when I go (on my iPhone) as you suggest to "Settings," "Mail, Contacts, Calendars," only two accounts are showing; my Mac account and my Bellsouth one. If I select either, I get an option to delete but the duplicate "MobileMe" account does not appear. It only shows up, as described above, if I:
It's nutso, I admit, but true. Any other suggestions would be most welcome.

  • How do I delete a MobileMe email account from iPad that has iCloud on it?

I Have an iPhone 4s that I installed iCloud on during the setup process. My iPhone, iPad and PC sync properly. However, my iPad email settings display both the MobileMe and iCloud accounts (with identical settings to each other).  Sometimes, the iPad receives duplicate emails, but not all of the time.  When I try to delete the MobileMe account through the iPad email settings, the delete/disable option does not appear.  My iPhone and my PC, with Outlook email, only have one email account setup, iCloud.  My PC is using Windows 7 (64bit) and Outlook 2010.   So, how do I get the MobileMe off of my iPad?

Also FIXED, after reading Ned the Nerd's solution to delete the iCloud account, which is actually the account I wanted to keep.  After I deleted the iCloud account in the Mail/Contacts/Calendar settings, I was able to go into the MobileMe account, turn everything off, and then I was asked if I wanted to delete the MobileMe account.  After deleting the MobileMe account, I clicked back on the iCloud icon, still displayed in the settings, and logged back into iCloud.  All of my email, contacts and caledars restored perfectly, and now there is only the one iCloud email account displaying in my email app.  Thanks Ned!

  • How do I delete a dismounted mailbox database........

I have a dismounted mailbox database on our Exchange 2010 SP1 that does not exist in the directory structure at all.  How do I delete it since it show a couple old user mailboxes that obviously aren't there since the database isn't on my hard drive?

    a small correction,
Adsiedit.msc>>Configuration>>Services>>MicrosoftExchange>>FirstOrganization>>AdministrativeGroup>>Exchange AdministrativeGroup>>>Databases>>Right click on Dismounted Database Name and Click on Delete.
    Özgür ÇEBİ
    I really don't think that's a correct answer.
Find the users in the AD that have the mailbox database assigned to them and remove the mailbox:
"get-mailbox -database <database-name>" or just use the EMC to search for the mailboxes in that database.
Once the mailbox has been removed from those users you can use the UI to remove the database.
Using ADSI for simple tasks is just wrong.

How do I delete a VIP Mail Box Apple Mail Yosemite

OK it may have worked.  I needed to revert to the default email view from the Classic. After clicking on the star all the emails left and the VIP box is now empty.  We will see if it starts to fill up.  I have no idea how the computer know who my VIP are as I certainly do not. Unless they are FaceBook good friends.

  • How do I delete hierarchy in mailboxes?

    People,
Just got a new iMac with Yosemite. I imported my mailboxes from my previous iMac (Leopard). Each of my mailboxes now has a hierarchy (i.e. mailbox name with an expansion arrow that when expanded shows another level with "messages" (see below)). I don't need or want the extra level. How do I get rid of the extra level and just show "Chip" as a mailbox?
    John

    Old Toad,
Okay, see if I did it right. There is a message with the subject: "next thoughts". I selected the "Albert Ros" mailbox folder and typed "next thoughts" into the search box at the top of Mail's window. I got two hits, one for the message I sent with that subject and a second one as a response (i.e. RE: first thoughts). I then selected the "messages" folder under "Albert Ros" and did the same search. Again I got the same two hits. Based on that, and the fact that I still have the "Albert Ros" mailbox on my old iMac as backup in case something went south, I deleted the "messages" folder under the "Albert Ros" mailbox folder. That seems to work, as the messages still exist in the "Albert Ros" mailbox, which is now just a plain folder with no hierarchy; just like I want.
I still don't understand why an import of my mailboxes from Mail under Leopard, (Mail 3.6), resulted in an extra level of indenture once they got into Mail under Yosemite (Mail 8.1). I can only guess that is is an artifact of an expanded feature of Mail 8.1. What expanded feature, I do not know.
So to resolve my issue, its looks like I will have to check each "redundantly indentured" mailbox to insure messages are indeed duplicated and then delete the "messages" folder under each. A helluva way to run a railroad, but okay, I give.
Thanks for your help. This certainly wasn't a major issue, like actually losing data, but it was one of those little annoying things that computer operating system/applications do to irritate the user. You've soothed my irritation :-)

  • In the Mail App how do I delete the MobileMe account after I've moved my second email account to iCloud?

I have moved two accounts to iCloud. Both iCloud accounts appear on my iPad's Mail App. The MobileMe account is still there, however. In Settings only the iCloud account appears. How do I get rid of the now redundant MobileMe account?

This works for me: In the iPod's Settings select 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' and delete the account that appears twice in the Mail App. The add same account. Go to Mail to affirm that the second account appears only once. Bingo!
Once the second account is in iCloud it can be deleted and added to iOS devices without worries.

  • How do I restore my mobileme mailboxes in iCloud's mail on iMac??

I've gone through the migration process fairly smoothly except for the loss of access to my mailboxes/folders for what was my mobileme account and that is now my iCloud one. The folders are all intact and accessible via iCloud.com, but I would really like to have them again in Mac Mail. Thanks.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Restore the selected item from a backup that predates the problem.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • How can I delete all MobileMe artifacts?

I tried MobileMe and decided it wasn't for me and deleted all data and MobileMe preference pane is empty. I don't even have an account anymore.
However, on the menu bar is an icon for Synch and from time to time iCal will inform me of synch conflicts with MobileMe. I tried to get rid of them by telling it to resolve all such by accepting the iCal data but it didn't like that as it wanted to sych with MobileMe.
What preference panes and plists do I need to delete or change to get rid of this error and menu artifact?

        baprawski,
Is there a particular reason why you want to delete the contacts all at once? The only way you can delete all the contacts all one time would be to wipe the device. This will complete erase all data on the phone including the contacts.
You want to make sure you backup your device uisng the desktop manager. Once you perform the wipe you can then backup your contacts using the desktop manager and just make sure to uncheck the Contacts when backing up so they are not added back to your phone.

  • How Can I Delete "Blocked Mail" mailbox?

Suddenly in Mail I have a mailbox for Blocked Mail. This is on my iMac where I am running Maverick.  I do not want to collect blocked mail; that's why I blocked it so I don't have to deal with it.  How can I get rid of this mailbox or how do I stop blocked mail from accumulating.  Thanks.

Somehow your question appeared in the Using Apple Support Communities Forum so I asked the hosts to relocate it to the iMac Forum.

  • How do I delete my mobile me account?

I updated to iCloud and now I have both MobileMe and iCloud accounts in Mail on my iPhone. I don't have the option to delete the MobileMe account so now I have two of the same account under different names. How do I delete the MobileMe and keep the iCloud?

Open the MobileMe preferences in System Preferences, sign out. Open the Mail, Contacts, Calendars preferences and either turn off the MM acccount or delete it. The MM account will disappear at the end of June 2012.
You can delete any MM account you have currently turned on in your iPhone's settings.
