just bought a new phone and downloaded everything from the cloud along with 2000 gmail messages i deleted from gmail a year ago. How do I delete them from my icloud backup?

My phone was stolen a couple of weeks ago and I deactivated it before I attempted a remote wipe. I then requested a wipe that continues to say pending. I then got a replacement phone and backed it up with iCloud. I am now getting text messages from the thief commenting on pics I just took with my new phone. To remove the apple id from the device, go to Settings>icloud>delete account. NOTE: this will only remove the account from the iPad. It will not delete the account.

Thanks for your reply, deggie, but as I stated in the original question I do not have a trash can. However, I went to the Verizon store and after many attempts to locate a trash can the sales rep turned off the phone with both buttons held down. When the apple came back the trash can came back. He had never seen that problem before so we both learned something !

I mistakenly deleted an important text conversation - swiping and deleting the wrong conversation.   My iphone is backed up to icloud, but not on my conputer. Are there steps I can take to restore the deleted text messages from the icloud backup? If so what are they and where will I find the restored messages after the process?   Any help would be very much appreciated.

As for the actual process, the most recent back up was prior to my deletion.   Three last questions (I hope...):
1) How will I know what I need to redownload from itunes?

How do i retrieve my text messages from an icloud backup?

I updated my phone to ios 6.1.3 6 days ago and last night i noticed when i looked at my phone all my text messages were erased. I had messages going back 3 years ago and ive lost it all. I noticed my Phone had updated to the Icloud in the morning and in the evening everything disappeared so im hoping i can still get it all back if i can restore from my Icloud. When i go to restore on Itunes it wants to restore from my computer which was 6 days ago. HOw do i switch it over to resotre from my Icloud backup?

You cannot retrive individual peices of data from an icloud backup. You will have to go to settings>general>reset>erase all content and settings. Then during the setup assistant, you will have to Restore the device from the Icloud backup.

I was asked to update a password to our company email account and I updated. Then I had to update the password on my iphone. Now my iphone won't send any emails out because it is asking for an update to an email account that was never associated with this iphone (the email account was from a former employer). It must have been restored or synced to my iphone or tied to iTunes through syncing. I deleted the old employer phone from itunes when I left the job and purchased a new iphone.
But now my new iphone is not sending emails because it says that the old email account does not recognize the new password. And there is no old email account to delete. I've looked in my itunes acccount to try to delete there as well and can find nothing to delete from the old account.

I would next reset the network settings on the phone, in case there is some info there that is stuck and causing the issue:
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords

VPN and APN settings

If not I would as a last resort, backup your iPhone with this article:

Your Apple ID is used for several services through your iPhone. To replace the previous Apple ID you will need to sign out of it in a few different spots and sign in with the current Apple ID (depending on what Apple ID you choose to use for each individual service). The services you may need to sign out of old Apple ID and into new one could include iCloud, Messages, FaceTime, and iTunes & App Stores. You can see what Apple ID is currently signed in and sign out of it in the following areas: Settings > iCloud, Settings > Messages, Settings > FaceTime, and Settings > iTunes & App Store. If you purchased apps under the old ID, they are forever locked to that ID. You will need that information to update the apps, or you will need to delete them and redownload them.

I have a few accounts in my name on my mac which are the accounts I had on previous hard drives before upgrading them. When I upgraded I used Time Machine and it always asked to set/create a new name and account.
My question is, how do I delete the old accounts?

When I upgraded from iphone 4 to 5s, my new iphone automatically set the messages account to that of an old apple id. The old apple id is from college, the email account no longer exists, and I have forgotten my password that was associated with the apple id. My goal is to set my new apple id in messages on my iphone so that I can sync my iphone messages with the messages on my macbook pro. Does anyone know how to delete the old apple id?
