How do I delete my old user completely?

It's more complicated than just deleting a user.
I've just upgraded my Mac to Yose mite and deleted my old User and created a new user.
I went to preferences and Users & Groups and I've checked it, i only see my new user as Admin.
Though when I shut down and turn my mac back on the first thing it opens is my old "deleted" user type in its password and wait a while for it to load then it goes to my new user and i have to log in with that to get to my Desktop Screen.
I've even tried this website (http://support.apple.com /kb/TS3981) and went to where to told me and find my old user but it's not there. I've even went into my User folder and my old user isn't there.
How do I delete my old User so when i turn on my mac and it goes straight to my new user and then i would type in the new users password etc and go into it skipping my old user?
Please help! Thanks.

Open the Sharing pane of System Preferences and change the computer's name.

  • How do i delete the old users account on my second hand imac g5 without the origonal disc

im new to imacs and not sure how to delete the old users account without the origonal disc

First of all, you need to make sure your current user account (the one you intend to keep) is an administrator account (not standard).
Go to System Preferences Accounts pane.  Click the lock, if it's locked, and enter your authorization, to unlock.
In the sidebar, you will see the list of user accounts.  To delete a user account, select it on the list and click the minus sign.

  • How can I delete my old user ID from my iPhone?, How can I delete my old user ID from my iPhone?

I have changed my provider so have a new address.  My iPhone automatically gives my old apple ID and wants me to put in the password.  I don't have a password for it but I cant use my ner username and password.  Any ideas how I can delete my old username off my iPhone apple ID?  My new name and password works on my desktop and my iPad.

Did you update your Apple ID, or did you create a new one? To change the Apple ID signed in on the phone, see this support document. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
If you purchased apps under the old ID, they are forever locked to that ID. You will need that information to update the apps, or you will need to delete them and redownload them.

  • How do I delete the old user accounts from my Mac?

I have a few accounts in my name on my mac which are the accounts I had on previous hard drives before upgrading them. When I upgraded I used Time Machine and it always asked to set/create a new name and account.
My question is, how do I delete the old accounts?
Not sure if the accounts are taking up space but I am about to upgrade to a SSD and would like everything as tidy as possible.
    Thanks
    Phil

Delete them in the Accounts pane of System Preferences.

  • How do I delete an old user account?

About 8 months ago my dad gave me his Macbook Pro. He had used up about 150 out of the 250 gb available on the computer so I deleted his account, but while deleting the account my computer crashed. Ever since then my computer has not had the free space it would from deleting everything that was on his account. I have run out of space now and can't find a trace of his things anywhere. How do I delete all of these old files?

The applications are stored in a global folder to be used by everyone, so deleting a user doesn't delete the programs installed.
If you don't want to do it manually, you could backup what files you do want to keep off the machine and erase OS X and everything in it's entirety and then reinstall it with the programs you want then files last.
How do I delete data from the machine?
How to reinstall just OS X or erase/install OS X

i use migrate assistant to move files from my old pc to the new Mac , but it creates the user account. How can i delete the unwanted user account.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
That's the classic behaviour after using Migration Assistant and that's normal.
To transfer the data from the new user account to your old user account, you can follow some steps. Here is all the information you need to do this > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-5472

  • HT1311 How do I delete an old Apple ID for the sake of updating?

I have managed to change my Apple ID but when my ipod touch updates it still comes up with the old ID. Ive checked in my iTunes & App Store and it has the correct ID. How do I remove the old ID completely?

Photo Stream and Calendar will not sync to your new Apple/iCloud ID. They are tied to the old one. You cannot delete an Apple ID, all you can do is stop using it. However, the iCloud account associated with that ID and all of its contents will not be accessible using that new Apple/iCloud ID - two different accounts.
Also, any purchases you made with the old ID will remain tied to that old ID. They cannot be transferred to a different Apple account.
Your best bet is to go to Manage your Apple ID and change the email address for your existing Apple ID to whatever it is you want it to be (unless it is an Apple Domain email address - @me.com, @mac.com, etc.). However, if you have already used that email address for the new ID you set up, it won't be available to be used for your updated one: Apple - My Apple ID
If you want to use the email address you set up the new Apple ID with, you can contact Apple Support to see if they can delete that new account so you can use the email address you assigned to it:
    ACCOUNT SECURITY CONTACT NUMBERS
If you are having issues signing off your old ID because you don't remember the password, you can reset that password by going to the first link listed above and clicking on Reset Password. If you don't remember the answers to your Security Questions, you can contact Apple Support at the second link posted above to have them reset.
    Cheers,

An old User ID keeps popping up and I have had this old ID deleted almost a year ago How do I delete this old ID again?
    Thank you.

How to change the Apple ID on my iOS Device
Settings > iTunes & App stores.
Tap your Apple ID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
    Settings > Facetime.
Tap your Apple ID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
    Settings > Messages.
Turn off iMessages, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.  Go to 'Receive messages at' and then tap your Apple ID.  Sign out of the old ID, then sign in with new Apple ID.
    Settings > iCloud.

Also, delete any apps that were downloaded with the 'old' Apple ID, then reinstall them with your 'new' ID.

  • How do I delete and old apple account on my App Store

iI've created a new apple user name and password.. How so I delete the old one?

You can't. All you can do is stop using it. Anything you have purchased using the old Apple ID is permanently connected to it and cannot be updated or re-downloaded when using the new Apple ID.

  • How do I delete an individual text completely off my phone

How do I delete an individual text completely off my phone, so that the timestamp of the deleted text doesn't appear anymore.
ios 8, seems to keep deleted texts on the phone, if I delete a text message it will be removed from the message app but the person who I texted and the timestamp of the message still stays. this ends up showing the person in my messages with a timestamp for a message that doesn't exist.

Well you can try this, but I'm not sure it's going to work if this is an entirely new ID.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I delete an old iCloud account for which I do not remember the password?  The email address linked to that account is no longer active.

The email linked to that account is no longer active.  How can I delete this old account and use a new one?

Although your profile says you're running iOS 5.1.1 it sounds like you're running iOS 7 (otherwise you would not need your password to delete the old account).  Assuming that's true, and your iCloud ID has changed but you need to delete the old account in order to change to your new one, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I delete an old file from my library on iTunes

Occasionally I have to replace PDF manuals with ones that have been updated.  But after I sync the new file the old one remains on my Mac itunes library.  How can I delete the old file?  So far all I do is deselect the old file but it's still there.  Sooner or later there will be more old files then current ones making it hard to manage.
    Thanks in advance.

You can do this with or without the iPad connected to your Mac.
Launch iTunes on the Mac. Click on Books under the Library heading. Click on the PDFs. Then click on the PDF that you want to delete in order to select it, and go to Edit>Delete and follow the on screen prompts.
if you are using iTunes 11 and do not have the sidebar enabled, and wish to do so, go to View>Show sidebar or use the keyboard shortcut OPTION+Command+S.
If you do not want to enable the sidebar, the library items can be accessed in the button in the upper left corner of the iTunes window.

  • TS1702 How do I delete an old Apple ID?

When I attempt to update my Apps the password window pops up but my Apple ID displays a discontinued email adresss no longer in use. I've reset, updated and signed off of my Apple ID but nothing changes and the old email address keeps popping up.  How do i delete the old address permanently?

ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.
Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.
