i changed the email address for my Facebook account and I'm trying to log on with my ipad but cannot and cannot delete account either. any suggestions? thanks!

This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. When I try to delete the account from my iphone it requires a password to authorise this, but the password doesn't work with old email ID. You will need the password. If you can't get it reset via http://iforgot.apple.com (if you remember the answers to the account's security questions then you should be able to reset it via them) then try contacting Support in your country, they should be able to reset it.

It requires i log into FindMyiPad to delete the iCloud account however the Apple ID has changed therefore the username/password no longer exists.
This is just sending me in circles to log into to a non-existant apple id with no password to delete my iCloud so i can log in with my updated apple ID.

Settings/iTunes and App Store log out then log in with new ID. you might want to change ID in iMessage, FaceTime and Siri and delete the cloud account and create one with new ID. remember apps are forever linked to the ID used to download them and can only be updated with that ID

You can't delete an account, you can only stop using it. If you're getting that error message you won't be able to create a new account on your device. Your only options are to re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

To delete a mail account in Mail, open Mail, and go to Mail menu > Preferences > Accounts. Then, select the account you want to remove and press the - button.

Can't delete old iCloud account from new phone

Have trouble deleting old iCloud account from my new phone keep getting a message saying can not delete cause in use

iCloud accounts can be deleted in Mail, Contacts and Calenders in System Preferences from the Apple sign menu on your Host or Main mac.
I had heaps of trouble with this - i fixed it by going back to my host imac and clicked on apple sign - system preferences - then under the Internet and Wireless heading clicked on Mail, Contacts & Calenders. from there you can select iCloud amongst your other stuff in the left window - delete the old one by hitting the (minus) - sign down the bottom after selecting iCloud. Keep your calenders and contacts on your mac when asked.
Once you've deleted the old one and its gone from the window reselect iCloud from the right window of options. Use your new apple ID (current e-mail) to set this one up.
Once you sync all your devices it should all be good.
Took me ages to work this out but minutes to fix once I had.
