I have a huge itunes music library, over 900 GB, and as it turns out I have a huge number of duplicate albums. Is there a way to automatically get rid of the duplicate albums so I am left with only one of each? If not, what is the best way to identify and remove my library's duplicate albums? Thanks!

iTunes does not have any automated way of deleting duplicates.
You can identify the duplicates by
View > Show Duplicates
or
Alt + View > Show exact Duplicates
(or if you are on windows Shift+ View > Show Exact duplicates
There is a third party tol which is free to download and then register. Although the copy I tried worked fine as a trial download

I have an iPod that was synced to another iTunes library on another PC. The PC died and I replaced it with a MacBook Pro but it keeps saying the iPod is synced w/ another iTunes library. How can I get the songs on my iPod on the new iTunes library?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Sorry, but audiobooks cannot be downloaded more than once without charge, so if you don't have a viable backup, you may be out of luck. You can, however, contact the iTunes Store, explain the situation, and see if they can make an exception for you.

Well first off you have to title them all with the same album name. Then make sure you have them set to like disc 1 of 3, 2 of 3 etc. so they will all fall into the same folder. Then make sure that you have the same album artist and leave artist blank or it will separate the files. If Various artists then title it various artists.

How can I download the old songs that I've lost from my iTunes Library?

I've bought some songs 10/15 days ago but, right now, I've lost it from my iTunes Library due to total backup of my MacBook.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; only apps, books (not audiobooks), music, and t.v. shows (not movies).
If you're in a country that doesn't have this feature yet for music you can wait and hope they eventually have it, or you'll have to rely upon backups.
I believe some people have successfully asked Apple to let them download a second time free but they do not have to allow it and they do not regard it as a substitute for maintaining a backup.

On any iOS device go to Settings > Music and turn off Show All Music. This should turn off cloud items. You may sometimes need to reset the device.
Swipe to delete the tracks if they were automatically downloaded to the phone.

Standard problem of having non-itunes-purchased songs on my ipod which I can't transfer over onto my new laptop, or not at least without taking a day off to read Apple's convoluted instructions and try to swap files here there and everywhere. There is no way to delete songs from an iPod.
Nothing will be touched on your iPod in regards to iTunes content with the first sync with iTunes on your new computer if you transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer following the simple instructions included with the link provided. Certainly as a Windows user you maintain a backup for all important data which should include your iTunes library? Important regardless the platform but even more so with Windows due to constant virus, adware, and spyware concerns. iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only from an iPod - really. As the largest distributor for music and as #1 by far in MP3 player sales, this is required by those who own the distribution rights for the music. Part of an effort to prevent or minimize stealing music by those who own the distribution rights.

The exception is itunes purchases: File>Transfer Purchases
You should always maintain a backup copy. This is very important.

How can I create a list of albums from my iTunes library?

I want to share some of my albums with a friend, so she asked for a list of the albums that I have in my iTunes Library. I know that I can "copy and paste" (or export and import) my entire list of songs into Excel and then start deleting rows, but that method is taking me forever! With all of the radom songs I have, plus the fact that each album has multiple songs, trying to end up with a list where there is only one entry for each album has become a real chore.
Is there any 3rd party software that would do this for me, or is there a relatively easy workaround that anyone knows of? I'd really appreciate any assistance...

No, that's the only file necessary.
Double-check that you put the folder in the correct place and that it's named correctly. The folder must be in the iTunes folder in your user Library folder, and must be named Scripts - no varations (case, extra space at the end, etc.) allowed.
Other than that, all I can suggest further is, if you are indeed on 10.4.2 as your profile suggests, you try updating to the latest version, 10.4.8. Perhaps that will get it working.

I am adding songs to my ipod touch from my itunes library and a lot of the songs that i tried to add are faded on my ipod and will not play. it is like they weren't added to my ipod even though i can see it is there.

The songs will play in my itunes library but they won't transfer onto my ipod correctly. For some of the congs, I just have to locate the file and readd the song to itunes, but a lot of the songs, I don't know what the problem is.

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

You can select some files in iTunes then right click consolidate.
Then delete the original files not in the iTunes media folder.
This way you don't have to do it all at once.
Note that when you add files to iTunes, they are copied into the iTunes media folder so anything you added in the past is already in the iTunes media folder. Consolidating wont do anything to those. Likely all you need to do is delete the original.
