How do i delete part of a song, ie spoken intro

how do i delete part of a song already in my music library.  ie  the spoken intro to a song.  i want the song but not the spoken intro part.

If you do Get Info for the song - then (in Options tab, I think) amend the Start Time of the track so it's the point where the music starts. iTunes will permanently 'remember' your change.

  • How do I put parts of multiple songs into one song?

I'm trying to make a mix of songs for my friends party and I was wondering how I could put parts of multiple songs together into one soundfile? If iTunes can't do this are their any other softwares that could do this? Thanks, appreciate it.

    Prosper,
That is beyond the ability of iTunes, and requires the use of an audio editor.
A free one that many people like is Audacity.
After you do the editing in Audacity, you can export an MP3 and add it in to your iTunes library.  The original files remain unchanged.

  • How can i delete a bunch of songs at once?

how can i delete a bunch of songs at once? Like the ones with the exclamation mark? without having to click control and click on all 1050 songs?

As long as they are in a continuous range, select the first, then hold SHIFT and click on the last. All in between will be selected. You can also use CTRL-click to add or remove individual songs from the selection. When you are ready you can delete the selection.
You might find iTunes Folder Watch useful if your missing files are scattered randomly through the library.

hold your finger on the part of the message you want to delete. This will give you the copy and more option. Choose more, and then you will be able to choose the message or messages you want to delete. Once selected you will be able to tap the trash can icon on the bottom of your screen.

  • How do we delete all the duplicate songs?

we have been coping our C Ds and found that we have tons of duplicate songs . how do we delete all the duplicates?

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)
Note also that I don't consider the same song appearing on different albums to be duplicates.

  • How do I delete the recently added songs "List is getting to large

I am unable to find ,how to delete the "RECENTLY Added" songs after having  moved them to the various ctegories I selected

The Recently Added playlists in iTunes is a Smart Playlist.  So in order to remove songs from this list you need to either wait until the song is no longer qualified to be listed in the Smart Playlist (more on that in a minute) or you need to adjust the rules out the Smart Playlist accordingly.
Either way though, this playlist hardly takes up any available hard drive space as it is just a list of pointers to your actual song files and not duplicate entries or anything of the sort that would be eating up significant amounts of drive space.
If you'd like, you can edit the rules out this Smart Playlist in iTunes to contain a smaller set of tracks or change the Date Added rule to only keep songs from a smaller time frame to help reduce the size of this playlist.  To do this, right->click on the Recently Added playlist and select Edit Smart Playlist. A new window show pop up.
In this window, you can the Date Added rule so that it contains tracks that were added in the past X (X being a number of your choice) number of days, weeks, or months.  You can also enable the Limit to X (X again being a number of your choice) rule to contain a smaller or larger number of items, GBs, MBs, hours, or minutes. To enable it, simply place a tick mark next to the rule.
When you are finished editing the playlist, click the OK button. If you did make any changes, the list should update dynamically immediately and will continue to do so as time goes on.

Not with Adobe Reader, but with a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat.

  • How do I select part of a song?

I am creating some voice overs using songs from iTunes as background, and am using the Podcast part of Garageband for that. When I drag the song into Garageband, I have the whole song showing as a track. If I only want to use part of it, how can I select that part I want to use? Once I do select it, what next? In my first attempts, I have used the cycling selection as one means of doing this, but it seems like there should be an easier way. Thanks.
    Joe

Sorry, but I am brand new to Garageband, and am finding it very complex compared to other applications. When you say to drag the ends, I don't know where to find those. Do you mean in the track itself?
I am confused by what should be done in the track itself, versus the big section you get at the bottom when you double click on a track, versus the Podcast track, versus the bar at top if you use cycle or arrange.
Thanks for the link, I will read all of those, but I am really struggling with this app.
    Thanks.

  • How do I delete multiple copies of songs on my iPhone when my laptop's iTunes only has one copy of each?

    Hi, everyone.
I've seen many versions of this question, but mine has some key differences.
The problem is that my iPhone 4S has multiple copies of almost every song that I've selected to copy from iTunes. The easy answer is to delete all the music from the phone and then re-sync from the iTunes library, except that I don't sync, I manually manage, because I have a 9000 song iTunes library. According to iTunes on my laptop, I have 835 songs on my phone, but there are actually over 2000 on the phone due to the duplicates. The fact that the duplicates do not show up in the iTunes library means I also cannot use the "Show Duplicate Items" tool.
I'm thinking that the only two solutions are:
    1. Manually slide and delete all 1200+ dupes on the phone
    2. Delete all music from the phone and then go back through the library and cherry pick what I want on the phone. This seems okay, but I don't know why this happened, so I'm afraid it will happen again.
I'd be thankful for any advice!

The cause was probably a USB glitch during a sync or when copying. The music resides on the phone in separate files. A master file contains a database with an index to the music, an entry for each track and a "pointer" to the file containing the track. Somehow the index got corrupted with duplicate entries. It's likely that the music itself wasn't duplicated, but some tracks had more than one entry in the database. I've seen this happen when syncing (rather than manually managing) also. In my case deleting the track from the Music tab in iTunes, syncing, then adding it back fixed it.
A related problem I've seen is an album may be split, with some tracks in each of 2 or more album entries in the listing. Fixed the same way.

  • How do I delete part of a column without deleting the whole column

I'm trying to deleting certain cells within the same column but I don't know how without deleting the entire column.  It sounds so simple but I'm sure I'm overlooking something.  Thanks.

Bummer! Thought there would be something similar to Excel.
Excel describes this in different terms, and the Excel user goes through a different set of steps, but the reality is that in Excel as in Numbers you are shifting content from one set of cells to another, not 'deleting cells'.
If you were actually 'deleting cells' from rows 2-11 of a column, then shifting all cells right of the deleted cells into the space left by the 'deleted' cells, one of the results would be that at the right edge of the table, rows 2 through 11 would end one column 'earlier' than the rest of the rows (from which 'cells' had NOT been deleted.
Excel: Select the cells whose content is to be replaced, tell Excel to 'delete cells'. Tell Excel which direction to move content to fill the cells. Excel moves that content into the emptied cells.
Numbers (method 1): Select the cells whose content is to be moved. Copy. Select the first cell that is to receive the content. Paste.
Numbers (method 1a): Select the cells whose content is to be moved. Drag the content to the first cell that is to receive the content. Drop.
Numbers (method 2): Select the cells whose content is to be moved. Press shift-command-X (or go Edit > Mark for Move. Select the first cell to receive the content. Press Shift-command-V (or go Edit > Move.
