How do I delete photo albums or photos in photo albums from IPad 2?
If the photos that you want to delete are in the Camera Roll, just tap on the photo that you want to delete, then tap the trash can in the upper right hand corner and select delete. If you are in the thumbnail view, tap on the curved arrow icon in the upper right corner and then tap on the photo or photos that you want to delete, then tap on delete in the upper left part of the screen.
If the photos that you want to delete are on the iPad from a previous sync with iTunes, you have to sync to iTunes to delete them. Deselect the photos in iTunes while your iPad is connected and then sync and the photos will be removed from the device

Thanks for the question. The best way to quickly remove photos from your iPad would be to import these to your computer. Depending on the application you use, you may be able to quickly remove those photos that have been imported. The following article provides more information:

If you have created album with iPad say in Photos App then simply hit the edit button and an X will appear in the top left corner of the album icon and you simply tap this to delet. It does not delete the photos, just the album.
Recetly this stopped working for me and I had to do a complete shut down, not just a quick sleep, and when restarted iPad it was working again.
If you created the album in say iPhoto or Aperture and synched it to iPa via iTunes then you need to delete it in iPhoto/Aperture or remove it from synch list in itunes to keep on Mac but remove from iPad. -

charles altmanReplying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

Are you asking about albums created in the "Photos.app" ?
In the Photos app, click edit, then click the red minus icon that appears.
For albums you created on your computer and synced to your device using iTunes:
These albums can only be deleted by syncing again with your computer and deselecting the album when syncing.
All other albums in iPhoto are created automatic as need be (Edited, Flagged, Favorites, Custom (tags), iTunes, Beamed, Photo Box); these albums will be deleted, when the photos inside are no longer present - the edits and tags removed.

RegardsSame way they got there, through the iTunes sync process. Under the Photos tab, remove the checks for the photos you don't want on your phone, hit the "Apply/Sync" button.
