  • How can I delete photos from iPad but not iCloud?

Before setting up iCloud, my girlfriend downloaded photos from her camera to her iPad.  We now have iCloud set up, but the photos on her iPad remain in the "Photos" album instead of Photo Stream.  I would like to delete the photos from the iPad to free up storage space, and move them to the Macbook.  I'm guessing that I would need to somehow move them to Photo Stream then delete the old album where they were stored on the iPad...  Any ideas?

  • How do I delete document from ipad but not iCloud?

I looked at the help on the iCloud page where I can log in from my mac. It says I can delete a document off my ipad but not the cloud by going in to settings and selecting the file in there. All I can find is a toggle switch to turn iCloud on/off for pages. I can't find access to individual documents there.

Ok tried again, figured it out.
Apple, wouldn't it be easier for the user to have a check box in pages/numbers/keynote on the thumbnail of each document for

  • How do I delete photos in iPad not currently in ITunes?

I'm doing this for wife who has iPad, (1st gen; not new iPad 2). When she got it she wanted, "her photos," from her computer in her iPad. Happy to accomodate, I managed to load all 3,000 photos from her Nikon Picture Project software into her iPad. Now she does not want that many and I've been trying for a month to delete all of them. They are not in iTunes or I'd uncheck them there and re-synch, which, I'm told would wipe them out.
I simply don't know how to delete them.
    Can anyone help? Thanks,

HERE IS THE ANSWER: Use your Mac computer and open the "Preview" application. 1. Connect your iPad (and/or iPhone).
    2. Open the application named "Preview" on your Mac (Click on the Macintosh HD icon or open the Finder application and search for the application named "Preview," then click on the application to open it. Or look under Macintosh HD > Applications > Preview.)
    2. In the Preview application toward the very top of your screen, click File > Import From Camera (then click on the name of your iPad or iPhone)...
    3. Near the lower left corner of the Preview application, click on the icon with the four tiny squares. That will give you a better view of all of your pictures.
    4. Select the pictures you want to delete.
    5. Click on the red delete icon at the bottom of the screen. (Looks like a red circle with a slash through it.) That will delete the pictures.
This works for iPhone, but not iPad.  No pictures show up in preview as they do with iPhone.
BTW, Command/Click, as usual, allows multiple photo selections and then click Delte button to delete many photos.
Too bad this doesn't work for iPad.

  • How do i delete photos on iPad?

how do i delete photos on iPad?  i cannot delete ohotos in the photos folder of the ipad?  i took the photos using the iphone, they synced with the ipad and imac thourhg icloud, but they will not delete on the ipad.  i have been succesful lin the deleting them on the iphone and imac, but the ipad will not allow me to delete them!

Your terminology is a little confusing.
If you "synced" the iPad with iCloud - to me that means that you use Photo Stream and that the photos are in the Photo Stream album of the iPad, if they are in the Photo Stream - you can select the photo in Photo Stream and tap the Edit button - and then delete the photo. It will delete that photo on all devices from the Photo Stream.
If you "synced" the photo to the iPad via iTunes, then Diavonex post above will answer your question. But you could not have synced the photo to the iPad via iTunes without importing it to your computer or dragging it from the Photo Stream folder in iPhoto - then onto the desktop - and then place it into one of the folders in iPhoto that you include in your sync.

  • How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from a computer?

How do I delete photos on iPad that were copied from another computer or SD card?

If they were synced from a computer then you can't delete them directly in the Photos app on your iPad, you will have to connect your iPad to your computer and use the iPad's Photos tab in your computer's iTunes to change your photo sync selection to exclude them
If the photos were copied onto the iPad from an SD card via the camera connection kit then you should be able to delete them in the Photos app e.g. via the Select button top right if viewing the photos in thumbnail view in Photos.

How do I delete photos on iPad Air

    don butler,
Sync them off maybe a little confusing because there is no menu selection or button that says, "Sync Off Photos"
When you synced with iTunes you went to the photos tab and selected albums to copy to your iPad.
To remove whole albums, start iTunes on the computer, connect and select your iPad and go to the photos tab.
Then DESELECT the albums you no longer want on the iPad.
Clicking on Apply or Sync will then remove the unwanted albums.
To remove only certain photos that are inside albums is a little different.
Before using iTunes on your computer find the folder or album that has the photos you want to remove. Then move those photos to some other location on you computer or, if you want, delete them entirely.
Finally start iTunes on the computer, connect and select your iPad and go to the photos tab. Make sure all of the albums you want on the iPad are still selected. This includes the albums that you just edited by moving or deleting photos. The click on Sync or Apply.
The sync process wil examine each album, compare it to what is on your iPad and make the necessary changes. If you added photos to the folders on your computer they will be added to your iPad. Conversely, if you deleted photos from folders on your computer they will be removed on your iPad.
    Hope this helps.

how can i delete my icloud account but not the password to turn off the find my phone setting

Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPad and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

How can I delete useless memory on both my iPhone and my Macbook Pro?

I don't know much about iPhones but when you write "memory" do you mean the data on your hard drive on your MacBook Pro? If so, simply drag the items you deem as useless into the Trash and empty the Trash. DON'T fool around with any of the system items, just your own documents that you feel that you no longer need.

  • HT1535 how do i delete photos from ipad mini that were automatically synced from my laptop

How do I delete photos from an ipad mini that were automatically synced from my laptop.Apple told me to reset my daughters ipad mini to factory settings because of a fault but when it was reconnected all the photos on laptop were transferred and we cannot get rid of them Pse help

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing - so you will need to re-connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 and you don't have the sidebar showing then you can enable it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the right-hand side use the Photos tab to de-select the folders that you don't want and then sync (if you want to remove all synced photos then try selecting and syncing an empty folder).

How do I delete photos off camera roll on iPad without deleting from other albums? Will this action also delete the photos off my mac?

Album photo entries on the iPad are only pointers to the actual photo file which is stored in the Camera Roll. There is only one copy of the photo.
Deleting a camera roll photo on the iPad will not delete the photo from your Mac.
