How do I delete pictures that are not on "camera Roll" that I transferd from my computer?

I have tried everything..I have pictures on my phone that I transfered from my computer...they are old vaca pics and I want to delete them..They are not on the "camera roll"..I have tapped on edit, delete, ect everything and they won't delete..Please I hope someone can help me..

Delete them on your computer then sync your iPhone.
Or make sure when syncing your iPhone you remove them from the sync instructions.
You cannot delete them directly from the IPhone.

Where are the videos?
If WhatsApp supports sending videos from the Camera Roll only and that is your only option, that is it.

Be aware, they were reduced in resolution when synced to your phone, there is no way to recover their full resolution.

If you want to remove all of your synced photos .....
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes.
Select your iPad under the devices tab in the upper right or in the left sidebar, if you have the sidebar enabled.
Click on Photos at the top of the iTunes window on the right.
Uncheck the "Sync Photos From" heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
IF that doesn't work, create an empty folder on your desktop and call it "Empty Folder". Select that folder in the "Sync Photos From" heading in the photos tab of iTunes and then click on Apply. That will also remove all synced photos.

Hi there. can someone please tell me there is a way of doing this because I was on the phone to 121 for two hours and they couldn't help in the way I wanted.
I have a customer who took his iPad on holiday and with a cable adapter used it to back up the photos from his campact camera.
Whilst he was out there he took the time to separate all the photos into albums using the standard iPad 'Photos' app. There must be 50 or so albums in there.
So now he wants to get those photos off but keep the organisation the app has allowed him to do but if we plug it up to either his Macbook pro or Windows neither the hundreds of photos or thier albums are nowhere to be seen.
The only way I can find to get them out using Macbook or Windows is to transfer photos back into the camera roll or to share them via the cloud but both ways lose the album organisation.
Obviously if there is no way to do this (which seems bonkers for a modern device) then we shall have to painstakingly do just that. It would be nice not to have to endure the hours of work is all.

Getting photos from my ipad back to my Mac that are NOT in camera roll.

Our hard drive failed and my back up files were corrupt so I lost my entire digital life including my iphotos. I had set up my ipad to sync several folders from iphoto to my ipad when I did an itunes sync. All of these photos and folders are currently viewable on my ipad. When I plug the ipad in to sync, i can only transfer the photos that are currently in the camera roll (355 photos) There are 5000 photos on the ipad via the folders I previously synced.
How do I get these photo back to my mac? Is it even possible?
Image caputer doesn't work because it only looks at the photos in the camera roll (ie taken by the ipad).
To sum up: Basically starting with a new mac and trying to get photos from the ipad back on the mac.

If you have iPhoto on your iPad, you can save the photos back to the camera roll: you can select complete albums or events at once to do that.
Save photos to the Camera Roll on your iOS device
Tap a photo, album, or event and tap > Camera Roll.
Tap Selected, or change the photos you want to save:
Select different photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap up to 100 photos, and tap Next.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
Tap Done.
To use your photo in another app, open the app and select the Camera Roll album.

But a third-party app, like Terence Devlin suggested wll probably quicker and safer, since you have 5000 photos to transfer.

I have been on vacation in Costa Rica for about 3 months ! About a month ago I lost my iPhone and all of the photos , however when I checked my ipad the photos were all in photo stream ! *yaaay* , however I was unaware that photo stream automatically deletes all photos after 30 days .. So you can imagine how devastated I was to find that once again all of my photos were gone ! ): I didn't have access to a computer to download the onto and the iPhone is still missing ! Purchased content MAY be available for redownload - Music for sure. I think books are NOT available for redownload (not sure).
Best practice is to keep the content on a desktop computer to be able to resync when necessary (or use a cloud service like Drop Box).

Wtih iPhoto 9 when the iPhoto Trash is emptied the files get moved to the Trash bin in the Dock as a second chance to change your mind. Look in the Dock's Trash bin.

There is an option, under Advanced, on the Info Pane in iTunes to replace all contacts on your phone with what's on your computer for the next sync only. So, edit everything on your computer & use that method.

Open multitasking by double tapping the home button (at the bottom), a row of apps you've recently used should appear, tap and hold the photos app until it wiggles and displays an x, tap the x to close and then reopen the camera roll app. Let me know if it works. It's odd and frustrating, I know.

I bought iphoto to help me organize pictures on my Ipad and Iphone. I especially like the idea of being able to compair two or more similar pictures and save the best photo and delete the copies that weren't as good. I liked this feature but then discovered that it was not deleting the pictures off the camera roll.
I would love someone to tell me how to delete pictures in iphoto so they are removed from my Camera Roll at the same time. Being able to look at two pictures at the same time and decide which one you want to keep is great, but if I can't delete the one I don't want it is a waste of time.

I agree that the iphoto for the ipad might not be the best place to organize, but when you are retired and traveling you would like to select the pictures you want to keep and not wait until you get home. The camera roll doesn't let you compair two or more photos to see which one is best, Iphoto does but I want the poorer photos off the ipad so I don't have to wait until I get home and I want to use the memory for the best photos. I'm trying to figure out a round about way so I know which ones to delete on the camera roll.

If your pictures and video are not on the camera roll, I do not think your iPhone is taking pictures and video.
You have already tried resetting and restarting your device. Next, check whether your camera has been disabled in Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera. It is very important I find out how to get the other music onto my iPhone as I can no longer plug it into my pc since it blue screens the pc every time (No idea why)
