  • How do I delete podcasts from my list, how do I delete podcasts from my list

How do I delete podcasts from my list after they are deleted from my hard drive?  Some old ones have been deleted but the ones since February are still in my list waiting to be downloaded once again.  There are 2 delete options and I'm wondering which one to use.  It no longer gives me an option to delete from my hard drive.  After deleting from my list.  It seems to delete from my hard drive and then sits there.
I would like to use automatic delete, but I need to know if I can change that to 'Save' during the 24 hour period after I'm done listening to the podcast.
This morning everything came back in.  I noticed the settings at the top were all changed to d/l all instead of just 1.  I'm confused about this whole thing and cannot find anything in the way of a tutorial on the Apple/iTunes web site.

Swipe left-to-right across the podcast, hit delete.

  • How can I delete the titles of no longer subscribed podcasts from the iTunes library?

I am using iTunes 11.0.3 on my Macbook Pro. In the Podcasts tab of the iTunes library, the left panel has the titles of podcasts you have downloaded, and the right panel shows all the episodes of the selected podcast. If you unsubscribe to a podcast and delete all the episodes, the title still appears in the left panel, and it causes a great deal of clutter. I have tried everything I can think of to delete those titles without success. Has anyone got the solution?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, John. That was my first instinct, but that menu contains no delete option. This is the menu that pops up:

  • Zen V Plus - how do i delete (podcasts and mus

Hallo, am newbie to MP3 - bought Zen V Plus v ..0e 4GIG - very happy, small enough to fit into my bra. HOWEVER, disappointed with the manual - all of 6 pages of rubbish and have spent hours trundling through 'Help' without much success. Problem == podcasts downloaded to ....\Desktop\Podcasts are added to existing list already on ZEN. I now have 3 documentaries on ZEN.Question == How do I delete 9 of the 3 i no longer want What have I done to help myself ==a)Spent ages reading bits in Help. b) Done a 'cleanup' but it has not helped c)Have tried fiddling with the Settings in Zencast Organizer followed by Transfer, Sync but to no avail. The Transfer simply adds new podcast to what is already on ZEN with an 'i' if it finds a duplicate. 'Synchronize Manager'
I do not trust as i am not sure whether or not it is doing anything: there is no hour glass or a progress report window so i have no idea what it going on. Left it for two hours but no joy, still added to existing podcasts. Thing is i do not know which files on my laptop it uses to 'sync' with the ZEN either during the transfer or the sync phase. This applies also to CDs copied to ZEN: how/where do i delete one once i get fed up with it's Does anyone know of a class i can join that can actually show me how to use this ZEN thinggy properly There are 3 bits to it: Creative Media Explorer/Creative MediaSource/Zencast Organiser and i am struggling to get to grips with them. Why does it have to be so complicated Would appreciate assistance if this makes sense to someone - thanks Sue

Thanks, reply much appreciated. But under My Computer there are 2 x Creative Zen V Plus folders :Creative Zen V Plus with subfolders Data and Media (with and empty My Playlist subfolder) and Zen V Series Media Explorer with subfolders Creative Zen V Plus (My Zen) and lots of subfolders including a populated My Playlist - populated by my efforts. Confusing or what Moreover, when i plug in the Zen unit, I am invited to use Synch Manager which says "Creative Zen V Plus is ready for synchronisation " --- so WHICH of the two Creative Zen V Plus forlders is it referring to I shall experiment and report back but this may take some time.

  • How to recover deleted podcasts from trashcan to iTunes?

    Hi,
I deleted several video podcasts, which are now sitting in the Trashcan, and I would like to 'undelete' them back into iTunes so I can sync them back to my iPod. How do I do this? Thanks. David.

Draging from the trashcan to the podcast icon doesn't work, nor does opening the podcast icon and attempting to drag a deleted podcast into the particular podcast folder within the iTunes library. Hmm, I may finally have an excuse to visit the local Genius Bar.

  • How can I delete podcasts from the Apple TV podcast menu on my television?

There are podcasts that I prefer my kids not know I listen to...they are gone from iTunes yet they appear on the Apple TV menu and I can't seem to figure out how to delete them?  Is it possible?  Thanks!

    Helo utahskierdave,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you would like to delete podcasts from your Apple TV that have already been deleted from iTunes. In this situation, I would recommend reading over the following post and using the troubleshooting steps within.

  • How do I delete podcasts on the iPad?

I downloaded loads of videos from a podcast last night, and now my iPad only has just over 400 MB so how do you delete the podcasts you don't want any more?

When looking at a list of episodes swipe your finger right to left on the right hand side of the entry. You should reveal a delete button which does just that.

  • How can i delete podcasts in v 11.1?

Any solutions yet for deleting podcasts in iTunes v 11.1?

Previously it was possible to delete non-downloaded episodes from the List View, but this has been removed. However in 'My Podcasts' view you have an 'old episodes' button to show un-downloaded ones. When you click 'Done' these disappear again, but you can choose to show selected episodes in the main view by clicking on the grey circle at right of the title.
Of course downloaded episodes and entire podcasts can be deleted in the usual way by clicking once and hitting the delete key.

  • How can I delete podcasts from my Mac without them deleting on my iPhone?

I'm trying to free up some space on my office Mac, and there's only one podcast out of several I actually listen to at work. So I deleted one of the other, bigger podcasts from the list in iTunes.
Unfortunately, when I go into the Podcasts app on my iPhone, that podcast has now been deleted from there too. How can I unlink them so that the podcasts I have on my iPhone don't automatically download on my Mac?

when I delete photos in iPhoto will it delete the same ones on my iPhone via iCloud or the next time I plug in my phone?
If you send the photos to your phone using iTunes Photo Sync (iOS: Syncing with iTunes), yes then the albums  and photos that are no longer available on your mac, will be remove from your synced IOS device. To keep them permanently on your phone, save them to the Camera Roll.

  • How do I delete podcasts I have listened to from latest version of iTunes?

I am not able to keep up with the new versions of iTunes and IPod (now on iOS 6.0.1). It seems you have to completely re-learn things almost every month!
I download podcasts from a lot of sources, but virually never direct from iTunes (I find the search bar in iTunes almost useless and can rarely find what I want, whereas I know the home sites of the podcasts I do want, and want to manage all the downloads manually).
I listen to them and afterwards manually delete them directly on my iPod.
Before the latest version, I never used to sync my iPod and so it didn;t really matter to me what was in my iTunes library.
I now find it very difficult to manage the iPod manually (transferring things individually into iTunes and then to iPod, so yesterday I (accidentally) deleted everything in iTunes and iPod and started again. I now find that I cannot delete things from iTines and am scared that when I next sync my iPod, all the podcasts I have already listened to and deleted directly on the iPod will be re-loaded into the iPod.
    Please could someone help me?
In an ideal world, without losing what I have re-loaded into the iPod I would go back to the previous version of ITunes and to the pre- latest update version of software I had on my iPod as I learnt how to do things undr those conditions!
Many thanks, and with apologies for being too old and tech illiterate to keep up with these constant changes.........
    tks,
    Nick

  • How to : auto-delete podcasts from itunes

How can i make itunes to auto-delete a podcast once i have watched it either within itunes or watched it on the iphone? The file is no longer on the iphone when it has been watched but still is in itunes.I have checked podcast settings and set them too "only save not played podcasts"(free translated) for that particular podcast, but they never seem to be deleted from the mac's itunes library and i always have to remove them manually....what am i missing here?

I was also having this issue. I decided to just stop using iTunes for podcasting. For me the way iTunes handles podcasts isn't exactly how I would like it. There are a few things I don't like about it and the bug you mentioned is one of the them. Hopefully we will see improvements on the podcasting feature in the next iTunes release.

  • How to not delete podcast...?

I am doing a term paper and one of my sources is a podcast. How do i keep my podcast without it being deleted every time i update it?

There's an option under podcasts on the ipod menu. Unclick the box that says delete after listening.

  • How do I delete podcasts from the cloud?

I have a number of podcasts that I subscribe to.  With my upgrade to the newest version of iTunes (11.1), it now wants to list everything in the cloud and I when I try to delete individual podcasts, the listing remains within iTunes with the "download from the cloud" icon visible.  Obviously, I have listened to this content and don't care for it to be in my library anymore, but there doesn't seem to be any way to remove these listings.  What I've ended up with is a ton of podcast episodes that I've already listened to and don't want anymore clogging my playlist.  Anyone have any idea of how I get rid of these things?  I've even turned iTunes Match off in an effort to get rid of them, but nothing.  The iTunes cloud thing is worthless to me.  Stuff like this is super annoying.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Agree, this is really a bad thing. Podcast RSS feeds should generally only have a limited number (10s) of recent episodes to make the update check efficient. But many producers of podcast feeds include their entire archive of episodes going back years. I am speculating that they do this because iTunes is often the only way to interact with the user because iTunes doesn't support a link through to the originating site the way it used to.
I also got caught by the the new preference "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings". I don't remember turning it on and my wife complained that all my podcasts were appearing on her iPhone (we share an apple id). I deleted them from her iPhone only to find out they were gone from iTunes on my desktop. Thank goodness for Time Machine, but I had to disconnect the computer from the internet long enough to disable the sync until I could turn off that setting. Otherwise it immediately deleted the podcasts from my restored iTunes.
This is the kind of random side effects of using poorly designed cloud services that try to avoid. Apple should have at least provided a first time popup to warn me it was synching with the cloud and was about to delete most of my subscriptions.

  • How do you delete podcasts from ipod touch?

I tried to delete a couple of podcasts from my ipod touch but it only deleted the ones that were on my itunes not the ones on my ipod

    Swipe left and select delete.

  • How do I update podcast title, artist & artwork without affecting URL or subscribers?

Is this possible? I currently produce an iTunes podcast entitled "The Drop" (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-drop/id491023811).  The listing is currently as "The Drop" by "15 STEP & mass7." I'd like to update this listing to "The Drop Radio" by "The Drop." However, if this creates a URL change or affects subscribers, I'd simply want to change the artist to "The Drop." I'd also like to replace the artwork, and update our description.
Just to reiterate - I would need to do all of these without affecting our URL, subscribers, and ideally the ability to search for us on iTunes and google. Again, not sure if this is possible, but any insight is much appreciated.  Our feed URL is thedropoffical.podomatic.com.
Also, is it possible that I can simply make these changes on my host's site? If so, again would that change or effect our current URL, subscribers, and ability to search for our show?
    Thanks!

You can only make changes in Podomatic, which creates your podcast and feed. The feed URL is
    http://thedropoffical.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
so it looks as if 'thedropofficial' is the login, and the feed URL won't be changed if you change the title. If Podomatic have any support you should check this with them.
Assuming that changing the title doesn't change the URL you can change the description and title by going to wherever in Podomatic you entered them in the first place and changing them there. You can change the image but you should give the new image a different filename.
Changes will take a couple of days to show in the Store - the image will probably take some days to change - subscribers will see the changes immediately and will not be adversely affected by them.
