How do I delete some history but not all without it crashing?

I remember that Firefox used to allow deleting of only some history but not the most recent. For example, I was able to go into Options and under the Privacy tab, I could choose for Firefox to remember the last 7 days, 30 days, etc. Now, it seems that I can only choose "Remember history", "Do not remember history", and the custom option does not allow me to choose how long I want Firefox to remember the history while deleting everything else.
When I press Ctrl-H to open up the history on the side, it shows all the history from a very long time. I remember I used to be able to right-click on a folder (say several months back) and delete it all. Now if I try to do the same thing, it takes a long time and essentially crashed.
I do not know why these features were removed but Firefox is very difficult to use as a result of that now. Could you please help me out with this?

If you have problem with deleting the history in the Library then you can delete the places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.<br />
Note that this will remove all history (you can copy/paste or drag history items to a bookmarks folder).
Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

Current Firefox versions do not have a time limit for the history.
Firefox determines automatically how many pages can be kept without affecting the performance.
You can see the current value via the read-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages on the about:config page.

I have photostream set up on my PC and all photos in both mine and shared photostreams are successfully being synced to my PC automatically. Your my photo stream folder should operate the same way other folders do. First go to the iCloud control panel for Windows and click Options next to Photo Stream. Here, note you photo steam location (listed at the bottom). Navigate to the photo stream folder at that location, then open the my photo stream folder inside. Right-click on the my photo stream folder, select copy, navigate to a location of your choice, then right-click and select paste. Click on the copied folder, press your F2 key and rename it something like Photo Stream Backup. Then you should be all set.

There are two types of Backups that I can make for iDevice (for a example for iPhone - backup to iCloud or/and to the local PC/Mac.

It's easy to rename each unit. When you connect your iPad and it syncs, the unit will appear on the left of the iTUnes screens just click on the unit there and you can rename it. You should do this immediately so you can see which unit was backed up by it's name. You can sync as many decices as you want in one iTunes library and you can even share Apps as long as you're going to sync both from teh same iTunes account. My household has 2 iPad 2s and we share our apps, and we also share downloaded books, magazines, music, etc.......

Is it possible to use migration assist to migrate SOME Apps but not all of them? If so, how?

No. Migration Assistant will transfer the entire folder but you cannot selectively transfer individual applications. However, you can simply copy items from the Applications folder to the other computer via Target Disk Mode without the use of MA. Although this will work just fine it will not automatically include any other associated files needed by the applications transferred such as Applications Support files, preference files, or other installed files. Therefore, it would be better to simply reinstall the individual applications or transfer all of them, then delete what you don't want.

If you purchase a new iPad Air, you can choose which apps you want to put on the new device by downloading them from the App Store to the iPad Air.
Use these instructions to download apps you've previously purchased on your iPad Air:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Apps
Tap App Store.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Tap Updates.
Tap Purchased on the resulting screen.
Locate the app in your Purchased tab.
Tap the download icon.
The app will begin downloading and you'll be taken back to your home screen.

Problems with Home Sharing - works with some users but not all

Hi all,
On our Mac we have 3 different user accounts. Among the three, home sharing seems to work for two of them, but not three. For example, if I'm logged into User A's account, I'm able to access the library for users B & C. However, B & C are able to see user A's library, but items do not play or transfer. B & C can use each other's shared libraries without a problem.
Previously, all three users could use the other's libraries. I've done the obvious: restarted the computer, made sure sharing was turned on on all 3 accounts and synced the Apple ID and password on all three iTunes so that they're runing on the same Apple ID account.
The error I get when trying to transfer songs from A to either B or C is: "There was a problem downloading "[song name]". The URL "" could not be found on the server."
We're using iTunes 9.0.2.

Iphoto imported some photos but not all

I was able to import 45 of the 229 (approx.) photos off my SD card yesterday. I took the photos all on the same day (battery was getting low but managed to fill the card). When I looked on my camera (Canon) I saw that it showed no photos on the camera and I had not deleted them off the camera's SD card. at the same time missing photos were in iphoto ("loading, please wait" was the message). I waited overnight. Still nothing. They are visibly present in my iphoto application but not finishing the load process. I have been receiving (and not paying enough attention to, shame on me, error messages coming up in iphoto saying iphoto needed repairing. I repaired or followed instructions each time but did not explore further. Don't know if 2 events are related or not.
What to do? I have imported over 100k photos and never had a problem at all. Don't know if it's a bad card, probelm with iphoto or what. Also imported Java and Adobe reader (updated to use an application I had been running called Snagit).
Think I just got ripped off with freshcrop (MediaRECOVER Mac), apparently a non-reocognized media recovery app (didn't open it, just paid $60). I've done so many things as of late to my imac (7) running latest OSX version that I'm wondering if it will be difficult to pinpoint what happened.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, my photos are all in iPhoto. I mentioned other things that I've updated on my computer in case those updates and purchases of new software in any way affected my iphoto. So in the end the card updated all the photos - in 3 stages total over a period of days and during that time it would not allow me to log out of iphoto so had to do a manual reboot of my system. The problem was solved but I still don't know the reason for its occurrence or why it corrected itself. The last thing I'll share was that I saw a twirling blue ball (not the usual multi-colored ball that sometimes twirls on the screen when you are waiting for something to go to the next stage. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for your time. I hope I never see this again.

Restored some pages but not all, had 2 groups of tabs, only restored 1 group, after using sessionstore.bak trick.

I opened Firefox after restarting my computer. I normally press the Restore button and get my 2 groups of tabs back up, one which contains its own Restore page. However, I accidentally opened another tab while the Restore page was loading, and all of sudden there were no pages to Restore - it was empty, and the Restore option was greyed out when I went under History. I used the sessionstore.bak trick to recover 1 group of tabs. However the other group of tabs is still missing that I had open in another window before this problem happened. Is there a way to recover this?

I looked under all the ways to bring up precious tabs, including under History, but it was too late. All the tabs disappeared. Just by me pressing on something wrong. A million times before, I pressed the Restore button, and both windows with the groups of tabs would pop up. But this time, I must have done something funny. But opening a new tab next to the Restore tab, it made my previous pages disappear.

As Rick said, just shift select the comps and the solids and drag them into the project panel. Then click the particle folder and press delete.

How do I delete unused footage but not mess up my project file?

Here is the direct quote from the iMovie 08 Tutorial.
"If you try to delete an Event that has clips being
used in a project you will see an alert window.
Choose Delete Unused to delete only the clips in

I have been taking 50 minute videos on my camcorder and uploading them to the iMac. On about all of the clips I only use 5 minutes of footage. I was looking for a way to save space and I found this quote in the iMovie user guide, so I tried it.... but it messed up every single one of my projects that had the event files clips in them. The footage i needed still showed up under the event, but none of my projects that used these clips were working. Did I do something wrong?
Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm confused now but then it could be the sort of thing that needs to be actually seen. Don't have an Apple Store nearby you could pop into to ask a genius do you?
I'm successfully removing unwanted footage without affecting the project as long as the footage isn't in a project. There was one moment where I got the warning signs in a project and the thumbnails went blank but restarting iMovie fixed that.
Maybe if you described the exact process you've been through from start to finish as far as rejecting and removing footage goes I or someone could see where you went wrong.
With something new like iMovie 08 I think it's probably best to start with just one project, exploring all the features including removing footage so that you get a good grasp of it before really getting stuck into it. I wish I'd been a bit more patient myself.

I have 5 computers authorised to play my content. I want to see a list and deauthorise some but I'm only offered the deauthorise all option.

You can't 'deauthorise some'. What you do is to deauthorise all and then re-authorise the individual machines you want to be authorised.

Do a search fia either Spotlight
or via command-f for "Quicktime".
Look for the blue "Q" icon,
these will be the Quicktime Players.
Count how many you have, you should have only 1.
if you have more than one, select each in the Finder
window, and perform a command-i.
This will give you the "Get Info" screen on each.
The one that says "Quicktime version 7.0x" or HIGHER
you want to keep, anything with a lower number
you want to trash.
Also, check under your System Preferences Panel
for Quicktime, double click to open,
and click on the Register tab.
Make sure your Pro info is listed there,
in the "Registered to" and "Registeration Code"
fields.

I can delete most bookmarks, but not all. I've followed the help directions and that doesn't work. Someone suggested to uncheck lock in some file, but mine wasn't locked to begin with, so what do I do now?
