How do i delete text from a table cell

I want to delete text from a cell or table but not the cell or table themselves. How do I do this? The 'delete' function does not work.

Mac Word 2011. i found the answer: 'fn' (function') key + 'Delete' key. if i had a full desktop keyboard it would be the 'Del' key, NOT the 'Delete' key.

I want to keep the table and it's formatting but I want the current information deleted and don't want to have to do this cell by cell. If you want to remove only a specific part of the text, you have to get the String, take the parts before and after the removed part, append them back together and use setText to replace it in the textArea.

How do I delete text from a movie I did in final cut

hey guys i made a movie in final cut a while back and I want to delete some text I added to a clip but I can't seam to figuer out how to do it anyone have any ideas?

As Jim is pointing out, the best way to deal with editing the text out of an existing movie is to go back to the project and deal with the clips BEFORE the text was added.
Either that or bring the movie into AfterEffects or Shake and paint out the text on a frame by frame basis. (LOADS of fun!)

How can I delete texts from a conversation in iOS8 without deleting the entire conversation?

If I tap and hold an indivivual text msg, I get the pop-up with "Copy | More" and I select "More". The only choice then is to "Delete All" or "Cancel". There is no trashcan visible to just delete the selected message. I have an iPhone 5 and and an iPhone 6. Both are at iOS 8.1.3 and perform the same way. Am I missing something? One or two iOS versions ago, I was able to select individual msgs and "Delete Selected" (or something like that)

sberman (& Emilyy1234), thanks for making me look more. The Trash Can icon and the Forward (arrow) icon were not visible at the bottom of the screen. What was there was the text message input window with the camera icon in the lower left and the Send button in the lower right. That screen bottom line was covering the Trash Can icon and the Forward icon.
The only way I can make it disappear is to select the input area and then when the keyboard slides up and I drag it dow out of the way, the Trash Can is right where it should be.
It seems like the action of 'tap and hold' an individual message and then selecting 'More' is failing to replace the bottom screen line (msg input line) with the Trash Can and Forward icon on the bottom screen line. It works that way on the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 6 (both at iOS 8.1.3). Is that the way it works for everyone or is it something about my phones?

Just delete them. Or, do you mean beyond just deleting them? Then, you'd need to wipe the phone - select Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. That's a secure wipe of the iPhone contents, takes several hours (connect to AC power). You'll need to set your phone up from scratch (and erase the old backup(s) from your computer, since your SMS history is part of the backup).

if not s_select_option [ ] is initial.

Be careful though. If select option is emty, you will delete the entire table.

Open the Messages App to teh messages list. Tap Edit. Tap the minus icon for each mesage thread, then tap Delete. Individual messages can be deleted from teh thread view by tapping Edit, selecting the message , then tapping Delete (lower left).
Caveat - this will delete SMS messages from the Phone. How long they aactually remain on the server depends on your carrier's policies.
