How do i delete the icloud account on my iphone without login details or access to the email account which it was set up with?
While you can delete the existing iCloud account by forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it, or logging into iCloud.com & erasing the phone, you won't be able to activate the phone unless you you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to activate the phone. The phone will be useless.
This is called Activation Lock.

Here's how I did it:
Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> iCloud (this had the email account that kept coming up in iCloud)
Tap on "Sign Out"
You will be given the opportunity to delete the account .... do it
Now go back to iCloud and you should be presented with a screen to login to your iCloud account. It will create an iCloud email account for you. -

If you intend to keep using iCloud on your iPad, your best course of action would be to update your Apple ID/iCloud information so that you have a known password and it is associated with an active email address. You may find the following articles helpful:

You need to go to Manage your Apple ID, https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/, and sign in with your current Apple ID and password and do the following:
1. Edit your current Apple ID and change it back to the ID which is displaying for your iCloud account. You do not need to verify it - this is only a temporary change
2. Go into Settings>iCloud on your device and delete the iCloud account. Use your current password when your are prompted for a password
3. Once the old iCloud account is deleted, go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your ID back to the current one
4. Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your current ID and password
That should take care of your issue!

You can't delete an account, you can only stop using it. If you're getting that error message you won't be able to create a new account on your device. Your only options are to re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

If you acquired content with the old Apple ID, you also forfeit the content. Content is forever associated with the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another nor does Apple merge IDs. It would be best to reacquire use of the ID than to abandon it if you have content because that is the only ID that can redownload the content or update it. Call Apple Care for your country and ask for the Account Security Team, then request help resetting the password for the account.
Otherwise, if none of that matters, just abandon the ID and everything associated with it, delete everything from your devices and libraries. Then create a new Apple ID and start over. -

I signed in to iCloud with a personal Apple ID account to get some of my personal music onto the device. I have been trying to find out how to change the iCloud account to my business Apple ID. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth if I want. I have read several posts that advise deleting the iCloud account, but I still have personal devices I would like to continue to use with this Apple ID and iCloud account. The extent of the deletion is not addressed.
If I use the delete account under iCloud, does that delete it from the device, or does it delete it permanently? Tried adding my business email to the iCloud account, but it won't let me because it is associated with another Apple ID (duh). Am I stuck here?

The only option under iCloud is "Sign Out"Deleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud. In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens. Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device. It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days. When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question. However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days. When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload). Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this. If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account. -
My mother and brother made the mistake to connect both their iPhones to the same Apple-id, so a problem came up: All iMessages sent and received from one iPhone are also seen and saved on the other iPhone. I previously changed my Apple ID to a new email address (so it was the same account, just a new ID). However, on my phone it still shows the old Apple ID. Under iCloud in the settings app the Apple ID is greyed out, so I cannot change it. When I try to delete the iCloud account from my phone, it requires a password. I know the password and I enter it correctly, but I get a message saying my Apple ID or password is incorrect. I know it's my ID that's incorrect, but I can't find a way to change it to the correct ID.
You can't change it, only delete it. Don't worry, if you delete the account, nothing will be deleted from the phone, only the cloud. After you set up the new account, you can re-sync everything to the cloud.

My mother-in-law and I both have iphones and when they were set up, they both had icloud downloaded onto them through her apple account. I don't use icloud and I was wondering if deleting the account on my phone would affect hers as well.
They were initially setup with the smae Apple ID but when you delete the iCloud account from the phone you disassociate iCloud items on your phone.
If you want to rid the device of the Apple ID completely you will need to sign out in seceral places:
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Settings > Messages > Turn off iMessage
Setings > FaceTime > Turn off FaceTime
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Sign out
Settings > Game Center > Apple ID > Sign out
Note: You can keep the iTunes & App Stores sign in to share purchases without any effect on anything else
You should consider getting your own Apple ID.
