How do I delete the jpeg from raw+jpeg imported images?

Hi,
Back in the day, I shot lots of images using raw+jpeg and imported them into Lightroom.  Now I realize those jpegs add no value and I'd like to recover the disk space that they're collectively occupying.
Is there a good way to:
1. Identify all images in a catalog which have raw+jpeg?
2. Remove just the jpeg for these images?
Thanks!

Just so ya know, what the deletion feature in RawPlusJpeg does is ultra simple:
1. Identifies extraneous jpeg files.
2. Presents them for you to review.
3. Deletes the extraneous jpeg files, if you approve. (puts them in the recycle bin if possible).
It does nothing to the database nor anything else.
You sync folders with 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files separately' afterward, which is what sets the database right.
The only potential for trouble is the criteria for determining which jpegs are extraneous.
It has no direct access to the database, so what it does is check for jpegs with same base name as raw (which *must* be present in catalog, and on disk), that aren't in the catalog, which includes the jpegs associated with RAW+JPEG (imported as a unit), *and* any jpegs that were imported separately, but subsequently removed from the catalog, or had never been imported.
So, what it does will be the perfect thing to do, *if* you first synchronize folders (with 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files separately' checked) to pull any jpegs in to the catalog that were previously imported separately, but may have been inadvertently removed from the catalog (or had never been imported), before invoking the delete feature of the plugin.
Note: You must do that for any manual procedure too, or you will have the same problem, except in the manual case, you won't have the benefit of the plugin checking your work, and presenting the files to be deleted, before you commit.
It's your call, obviously, and to save Geoff the Kiwi from pointing this out: the plugin comes with no guarantee, warranty, or any other kind of tea.
Consider backing up catalog and photo files before doing this maintenance, whether manual, or plugin-assisted.
In my opinion, the plugin-assisted method is much safer than the manual method, which is the only reason it was written, *not* to save steps, although it does that too. For example, you can not, with the plugin, delete any jpegs that do not have a corresponding RAW in the catalog and on disk, period. - unless there is a bug of course, but there probably isn't , at least not one that would change the aforementioned assertion... - it wouldn't take much of a bug to cause it to barf, but it would take a big bug to cause it to delete files that weren't on the list, etc...
Seriously, I don't think you have to wait for Adobe on this one. I wouldn't (I didn't - my catalog is all clean now!...).
PS - there is *very* little recorded in the database about the jpeg sidecar - it's existence upon import (when "as a unit") - that's about it. Most of the funny business about updating that we were fumbling with above, stems from the software (and the person at the keyboard), *not* the database. Syncing folders with 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files separately' checked, once the jpeg sidecars have been cleaned up, *will* set the database straight!
Cheers,
Rob.

  • How do you delete the contacts from "All on My Mac"

How do you delete the contacts from "All on My Mac"? i have moved everything to iCloud and want to delete the contacts on my mac.

Signing out will not delete them from iCloud. Do it and read the message. It will give you the option to store address book contacts locally or just in iCloud. It will tell you that they will be available in iCloud when you sign back in.
In Addition, signing your mac out of iCloud does not sign your other devices out of iCloud. Any info in iCloud will still be available to other devices.
You can also access iCloud from the website https://www.icloud.com , which you can access from any computer at any time.

You can't; not if the phones are sharing the same iCloud account.  If you want to keep your data separate, migrate one of them to a different iCloud account.  (You can continue to share the same iTunes ID.)
To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (this won't effect the other phone), choose Keep on My iPhone, sign back in with a different Apple ID to set up a new account, turn on your iCloud data syncing, then choose Merge to upload the data to the new account.  You can then go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's data from each account.
Another option if you're only concerned about not sharing contacts but wish to share everything else, is to set up a second iCloud account on one of the phones and sync contacts with the secondary account.  To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off and choose Keep on My iPhone.  Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, sign in with a different Apple ID to create the secondary account, and turn Contacts to On.  You can then go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's contacts from each account.

  • How do I delete the information from the old firefox sync mechanism?

I have updated to the latest versions of Firefox and the latest/new version of Firefox Sync on both my devices by following the instructions from this support site.
QUESTION: Did disconnecting my devices from the old sync mechanism delete any and all of my information (e.g. bookmarks, passwords, etc.) from Mozilla's servers?
QUESTION: If disconnecting my devices from the old sync mechanism did NOT delete all of this information from the Mozilla's servers, how do I now delete all of that information from the old sync mechanism? Also, if it did not and a step was required to do so before disconnecting my devices, that should be added to the instructions about moving to the new sync.
This seems to have been asked in a couple of different threads, but the answers I read all seem to describe how to either upgrade to the new sync mechanism or delete an account from the new sync mechanism. One provided a link to a site to delete an account, but it's unclear if that will delete the account from the old sync mechanism or from the new sync mechanism since there's no indication as to which is which in Mozilla's account services.
    Thanks for your help!

If you used the same email address on the new Sync as you were using with the older Sync, there is no "old" data to delete. Basically - the same account which was updated for the new version of Sync.

Here is the SAP help on this topic.  I guess that answers your question.
When you cancel a billing document, you are actually creating a cancellation document. The cancellation document copies data from the billing document and transfers an offsetting entry to the accounting department.
    Features
The cancellation document causes the reference document for the billing document (e.g. the delivery) to be reopened so that a correct billing document can be created.
You can also cancel individual items. In the billing document, goto: Edit - Cancel item This function is not possible for:
    rebate agreements
    transactions involving credit cards
documents that have not yet been forwarded to Financial Accounting

  • After restoring my 3Gs I now have duplicate--sometimes triplicate calendar entries. How can I delete the duplicates from the phone?

On the info tab I'm told that my calendar is being synced through MobileMe and directly with the computer resulting in duplicated data. How do I prevent that? And how do I now delete the duplicates from the phone?
I notice that the entries from the computer show "Busy" in the status while the others--probably from MobileMe-- do not.
    Ron

Solved the problem...I think. In the Calendar app I clicked on the Calendars button. There I found, under Show All Calendars "From My Mac." There I found not only the calendars as they appear in iCal and MobileMe, but the same items with brackets containing my MobileMe address plus other info that isn't visible enough to see what it is (looks like "@calendar).

I bought a new computer and I cannot transfer my library to this new one. The message says that I'm not allowed to sync with two computers??? How can I delete the previous one from my account???

You cannot transfer from the iPhone to the computer.
You must move the contents of your old computer to the new one directly.
Use an external hard drive perhaps or restore your old computer backup to your new computer.
The iPhone is not the source of your data, that is the computer, the iPhone is only a slave device to iTunes.

If you have the OS X install DVD that accompanied it when new, or a later retail DVD of a supported OS X system (not grey from a different model) this can be used to start up the computer and use its version of Disk Utilities to erase (or secure erase, overwrite HDD with one-pass or more zeroes, etc) and install a new OS X system on the hard drive. You can exit or force quit the iBook after the installer is done, you may have to be sure the system disc is ejected.
By force-quitting computer after the installer is done and not allowing it to ask for user information, on a normal first-restart it would ask for user info to set up a new Admin account. (Hold power key to shut down; restart holding mouse or eject key to get DVD out; shut down again with power key.)
Or if 'recycling' means to bin the computer, it is good to know a working G4 iBook still has value as a computer and even more with a system DVD that can be used to restore a working OS X or original discs with the full set of as-shipped content; though dated can still work and be useful.

Always, it is a good idea and sound owner/user policy to include the original and any related system media DVDs, papers, manuals, etc with a computer as it goes forward to another user and repurposed.

  • I download confidential info & save to a secured flash drive; how can I delete the file from "downloads" after that?

I am a mental health professional. My supervisor emails me confidential information as Word documents, which I download using Firefox. When the download is complete, I open the document and save it to my secured flash drive. I would like to then delete the file from my computer, so the flash drive has the only copy, to protect my clients' privacy. The only directions I can find are for deleting the entry from the downloads list, but not the file itself.

If the photo was taken with the iPhone camera or copied from an email or the web you can use the Photos app to delete the photo.
If the photo was copied to the iPhone during a sync with a computer you delete the photos by doing another sync. Either delete the album the photos is in or move the photo out of the album it is in on your computer. Then complete the sync process.

If the application came with an uninstaller, use it. You can also check the developers site for instructions.
But for the most part, just drag the application to the trash. Some applications come with uninstallers under "options" on the installer.
The reason for this is that in Mac OS X most associated files are kept in the application package itself. If you choose any app then "control-click" on it, you can choose "Show package contents" from the contextual menu and you will see all the associated items.
You can also do a Finder or Spotlight search for any other items but they will probably only be prefs which will do no harm and don't take up much room.
These are ususally just plist files in Users/yourname/Library/Preferences . Also some apps will install files in Users/yourname/Library/Application Support. (To reveal this hidden Library go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library"
Note: Some apps may also put a file in /Library/Startup Items or SystemPreferences >> Users & Groups >> Login items. (So, it worth a look here too)
