How do I delete the recently added songs "List is getting to large
I am unable to find ,how to delete the "RECENTLY Added" songs after having moved them to the various ctegories I selected
The Recently Added playlists in iTunes is a Smart Playlist. So in order to remove songs from this list you need to either wait until the song is no longer qualified to be listed in the Smart Playlist (more on that in a minute) or you need to adjust the rules out the Smart Playlist accordingly.
Either way though, this playlist hardly takes up any available hard drive space as it is just a list of pointers to your actual song files and not duplicate entries or anything of the sort that would be eating up significant amounts of drive space.
If you'd like, you can edit the rules out this Smart Playlist in iTunes to contain a smaller set of tracks or change the Date Added rule to only keep songs from a smaller time frame to help reduce the size of this playlist. To do this, right->click on the Recently Added playlist and select Edit Smart Playlist. A new window show pop up.
In this window, you can the Date Added rule so that it contains tracks that were added in the past X (X being a number of your choice) number of days, weeks, or months. You can also enable the Limit to X (X again being a number of your choice) rule to contain a smaller or larger number of items, GBs, MBs, hours, or minutes. To enable it, simply place a tick mark next to the rule.
When you are finished editing the playlist, click the OK button. If you did make any changes, the list should update dynamically immediately and will continue to do so as time goes on.

Deleted the "recently added" playlist. How do I recover it without re-inst
I accidentally deleted the "recently added" list and can't see the option in a smart playlist to "remake" it. Is there a way to recover without re-installing iTunes? thanks for any feedback
The default playlists are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
Also check the box "Live Updating" -

How can I delete the recent calls list in FaceTime of my Mac?
Hello muchaim,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to delete the recent call list. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
FaceTime for Mac (Yosemite): Make and receive FaceTime calls
FaceTime keeps a list of the most recent calls you made, received, or declined, with the most recent call at the top. To return a call, click the Video button or the Audio button . To remove a call, select it and press Delete.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

How do I clear the 'recently added' playlist?
How do I clear the 'recently added' playlist?
It isn't set up that way. It is a smart playlist (right click on it to see details) which uses the "date added is last two weeks" command. You would have to change the date added on the tracks it contains to be older than two weeks, or do some other modification to the smart playlist such as only have it display items that had not been played at all. I don't know if there is an easy way to do that unless it is in Dougscripts.

I've deleted the recently added and recently played tabs and want to get them back, how?
Hi
I've deleted the recently played, and recently added tabs on the left hand side of itunes, but I now want to gewt them back. I've tried to look online for solutions but they don't work, I get the icon up again, but nothing gets added. Am I doing something wrong.
Heres what I've done - Go to file - Create new smart playlist - then in the box marked random, drop down box to most recently added - then name the folder when it appears on the left. Thats great, but nothing appears in that folder. I've also tried clicking on the + sign bottom left then hitting shift, which brings up the same box, but it still doesn't work..... Help! You need to specify what the values/attributes are for the two smart playlists. The below screenshots are from iTunes on my Mac (as that is what I'm currently logged in on), but I assume that the values are the same as they would be on windows :

MacBookPro Mac OS X (10.4.8) MacBookProThe "recently added" playlist can simply be recreated by using a smart playlist with the following criteria: "Date added is after". You pick the time frame, for instance the past month, past 2 weeks, etc.

I accidentally deleted the "Recently Added" playlist from my iTunes Library
I accidentally deleted my "Recently Added" file that comes as one of the standard files with the iTunes program. I have been unable to get it back and sure would like this file as it is easier to trace new additions. Anyone know how I can do this? I tried just adding a new file but it does not recognize new additions.
Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
To recreate the default *Recently Added* smart playlist:
Click *File > New Smart Playlist...*
Click the + symbol to the right hand side
The first line should now read:
Match all of the following rules
Change the next two lines to read
*Date Added is in the last 2 weeks*
*Media Kind is not Podcast*
There should also be a tick against *Live updating*
Click OK and set the playlist name to *Recently Added*

When I download music into Itunes on my PC, every song is transferred into a specific playlist. Twice now when I have opened up Itunes, all the recent songs that have been moved into playlists have been deleted by Itunes. I now have to go back and figure out which songs are missing and re-add them. It is driving me crazy. I have 10,000 songs and now have no idea which ones are missing and which ones have been retained.
Please help. Does anyone else have this problem?Hi TRuss08,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like songs are missing from iTunes on your PC, and need to be re-added. I know that can be a frustrating situation.
The tips in this article may help the process go a little smoother:

I deleted the " recently added " from my source list
I was trying to empty the file and it got removed from my source list. How can I get it back or create another?
desktop Windows XPWhy don't you just create another smart playlist and call it "Recently Added" the default specs for this file (way Apple set it up) are Check in Just Recent Add Box, then in the parameters: first box: "Date Added", next box "in the last", next box "2", next box "weeks". Other defaults are limit to "25" songs and select "random". Finally, the "live updating" box is checked. Good luck!
