How do i delete the tab at the top of my website? (i.web 1.1.2)

i have created my pages but each one of them has a tab along the top that i would like to delete. (it leftover from the gazzette template i started with.) is it possible for me to delete it, or at least change its color to the same as my background color? thanks!

Hey there, from within iWeb simpl click on the page(s) one at a time (in the left column). Then click the inspector button (bottom right) to open the inspector menus. At the top of the inspector there are 9 icons. The second one from the left is what you need.
When you click that you will see to options. 1. "INCLUDE PAGE IN NAVIGATION MENU" and 2. "DISPLAY NAVIGATION MENU" If you uncheck the "DISPLAY NAVIGATION MENU" it will be removed from the current page. Then continue the process for your other pages as well. Hope this helps and Merry Christmas

hi - thanks so much for your response. unfortunately both the "include page in navigation menu" and the "display navigation menu" boxes are unchecked and the tab is still present! any other ideas? take care

You mentioned making the text the same as the background...did you try that yet? I mis-understood your first question so my bad. What I have done with templates that dont let you delete the title is to shrink the font to 1 and match the text with the background color like you spoke of.

i think you did understand it correctly originally. the text box has no words in it, i just deleted them, so a blank text box is still there and can not be deleted. i am not sure if that is why the tab is still there. the tab runs along the top of the website. if you don't know what i mean, maybe i could send you a page to look at? thanks a lot for your help.

I took a look at the gazette template and if I understand what you are talking about, I think you have changed the page background to another color or another image and the top still has the beige with the 2 little flower scroll. And that is what you want to remove. If I am correct in my assumption that is a lot more involved as you would have to find the graphic in the package and modify it.
can you give a few more details or post your site may be someone also more knoledgeable will look at it.

Go ahead and send me a link or picture of it...if you haven't solved the issues already. Please include the template that you are using. I will create it myself and see if I can solve it.

mireille - you are right, i changed the background color to black and the tab remained beige. is there any way i can fix it?

laderamacguy took a look at it and added a black shape over the tab. he suggested i use a different template next time, such as the black template.

Oh sure you can delete it from the computer. I thought that you wanted to permanently delete it so that you can never access it again. In fact, in some countries, you can delete movies and then download that again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID.
Launch iTunes on your computer and click on the movies tab under the Library heading, find the movie and right click on it and select Delete.

I have an alias of one of my external hard drives in my trash. When I tried to delete it, it showed that I was deleting 80,000 files and counting. I stopped the delete process and when I clicked on "show original" all my external H.D.'s and my Mac hard drive show up. How do I delete this alias from the trash without loosing all my files? When I tried to drag it back to the desk top, it just made a duplicate and remained in the trash. When I turned off the external H.D., the trash was then empty. Tried rebooting the computer and then turning the external hard drive back on and the alias shows up in the trash again. Much help appreciated.

In Finder's Menu, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to "/volumes". (no quotes)
Volumes is where an alias to your hard drive ("/" at boot) is placed at startup, and where all the "mount points" for auxiliary drives are created for you to access them. This folder is normally hidden from view.
Drives with an extra 1 on the end have a side-effect of mounting a drive with the same name as the system already think exists. Try trashing the duplicates with a 1 or 2 if there are no real files in them, and reboot.

I paired a bluetooth headset with my G4 17". I've since lost the headset, and can't seem to figure out how to delete it from the sound preference pane. I have deleted it from the bluetooth menu, but it still shows up in the sound preference.

In my current Firefox, the "new tab" icon/item from the "customize" pop-up window menu of items is placed next to my home, back, forward buttons near the top-left of my header (Button 1 for "new tab"). Then, the tab bar automatically come with a small tab (with a + sign) to the right of your last tab opened (so you click on + and a new tab opens. Button 2 for "new tab"). I like to have this "new tab" button twice (as a + mini tab, and next to my "home icon".
When I upgraded to Firefox 4, I seemed to be only able to "customize" or use the "new tab" in one place. Either as an icon next to home button, or as a "+ minitab", but NOT both.
What can I do to put this button in Firefox 4 on BOTH places???
Your help is really appreciated. I want to upgrade, but I want my buttons on both places...
I upgraded to FF 4, but downgraded again just because this feature... that's just me of coarse :-)

I've been following some massive open online courses (MOOCs) and its been necessary to have several tabs open at the same time for the same site. I would like to be able to distinguish these tabs by being able to put a tag instead of the site url ('instructions', 'template', 'code', 'scratch', 'docs' etc. etc) and/or a colour code.
Does anyone know if and how this can be done?

This one colors tabs, but the author warns that it doesn't work with other tab-related extensions, so you probably need to keep searching for one that does everything you want:

If you don't find a do-it-all extension, you can modify the tab titles with a userscript that is specific to that website. This is because the tab displays the text designated in the page as its title.
You either could "hard code" the list of words for each of the pages, or you could have a script extract information from the page, for example, the first main heading, or some other predictable bit of data. The script then would insert your preferred wording as the title of the page and Firefox will show that on the tab.
To see how that appears, so you know whether it would be useful, you could do this experiment:
On a web page that has useless tab text, open the Web Console using command+alt+k (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+k). In the line at the bottom next to the caret, paste the following code and press Enter:

At the present time, you can't hide or delete an app from your purchased list on your phone. Prior to iOS 6 you could hide it; there has never been an option to delete it.
