How do I delete Timezones in iCal?

I searched a bunch of different timezones until I found the right one, but now I've got some timezones sitting around that I don't want, and I just wanna know if I can delete some off of this list. Thanks :) (iCal 4.0.4)

Hi,
Try this Terminal command. Quit iCal, open Applications/Utlilites/Terminal.app and copy the single line below into a terminal window and press Return. Then open iCal again.
defaults delete com.apple.iCal PersistentMenu-lastUsedTimeZones
Best wishes

How do you delete subscriptions in iCal?

    I m upset...
Same as above except I can complete and further detail the problem.
    1) when using ical event subscriptions, you are downloading an URL which goes to implement ical.
    2) Of course when I am going to ical calendar list, I right click on the mouse and I erase the calendar subscription. No problem about that !
    3) Most of us are intuitively trying to solve and fix the problem we can have. Accordingly my hesitations made that I have subscribed several times the same ical event. (7 times....)
    4) Why 7 times ? because I was doing what you have recommended above, I mean erasing the Ical event subscribed and then re subscribing it...
    5) each time you re trying to make it appeating again into ical because you want that subsribed event, it is occuring on ical the exact numer of time you have subscribed the event previously.
    6) In my case, 7 times .... and if I am continuing like this it will never end...
SO THE QUESTION IS : How to erase the PREVIOUS URL event subscription ??? because it is stored somewhere in the system ... and finally have only a UNIQUE URL subscription.

  • How do I delete meetings from iCal without notifying everyone?

How do I delete meetings from iCal without notifying everyone?  I've searched the Web and the only answer that comes back is to use a product that doesn't help me with Microsoft Exchange.  This seems like a fairly simple thing to fix, but has been outstanding for 3+ years.  Really?  Am I the only person who wants to remove old meetings from an Exchange calendar without whacking the entire calendar and its appointments and without having the original participants getting spammed?
I'm using the built-in "delete events xx days after they have passed", which you would think wouldn't do this.  Guess again.  I cannot control the fact my clients use Exchange, and it's a fairly common e-mail system for enterprises to have.  Are there any solutions?
    Thanks!

I was just experiencing this problem on Mountain Lion. The calendar I wanted to delete was on iCloud. So, I logged into iCloud from a web browser, and selected Calendar. On the current incarnation of iCloud Calendar the calendars are listed on the left. I selected the "Edit" link at the top of that list and chose delete. It indicated that the items would be deleted, but there was nothing about notifications. Then, when I went back to iCal on my Mac, I selected the calendar to be deleted, right clicked, and slected refresh...
    ... gone.
It probably would have disappeared on it's own eventually. I'd be curious to see if theis works for others, so please confirm.
    Good luck.

  • How can I delete something in Ical without a notification going out to other people?

If I delete a meeting in my calendar it notifies the entire meeting, even if I didn't set the meeting in the first place.

I was extremely frustrated as I just started to get these SPAM messages yesterday. With the first one I declined, but then I didn't want to notify the spammer that they had hit a valid email. So with the second one (which I may have gotten because of my reply to the first), I found this fix. I use Calendar v6, so I hope this applies to you also.
I went to iCal preferences and unchecked "Automatically receive CalDAV invitations from Mail" in the "Advanced" tab, and my spam invitation disappeared from the inbox and a grayed-out invitation appeared as a Calendar item for the date I received it. I then control-clicked the item, and there was an option to delete, then it asked if I wished to notify, and I just said "no."
I hope this doesn't affect my Calendar invites from real people like my wife and friends.
    David

  • How do I delete and reset ical

Calendar cleaner just nuked my calendar.  All the info a can find is outdated for OSX 10.10.2

    If you have TM setup and running try the following;
1 - go to your Users/Home/Library folder and select the Calendars folder.
2 - enter Time Machine and go back in time to just before you ran Calendar Cleaner.
3 - make sure the Calendar folder is selected and click on the Restore button.
4 - reboot and launch Calendar.
Just a reminder to never  run any "cleaning" or "optimizing" apps on Macs.  As you've found out they do more harm than good.

  • How do you delete all occurrences of a recurring event in iCal without deleting them one by one?

These events have no stopping point, and go on into eternity. How do I get them out of iCal without having to delete each one separately? I want to sync with my new iPhone, but don't want these events in my iPhone calendar. They are in my old iPhone when I synced it a couple of years ago. In the iPhone, you have no way to delete or edit these events.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    pedfogog,
... or whoever may find this post in need of assistance as I was.
I just had this same problem and successfully deleted ALL event (past and future)instances by :
    1. Click on any instance of the event in the calendar
    2. Select "Delete" from the iCal toolbar "Edit" menu.
    3. The iCal propmt asked me to choose to delete all or just the one instance.
    4. Naturally, select to "Delete all occurrences"
    I am running OS 10.6.8   iCal 4.0.4

  • How do I delete duplicate events in my iCal?

Using SyncMate to sync my calendar and contacts from my Droid X to my iMac (MAC Office doesn't work since I upgraded to Lion).  Seemed successful.  However, I now have duplicate events in my iCal.  How can I delete the duplicate events?

    Hello Linda,
Duplicate calendar entries can definitely clutter up iCal.  I found an article that has specifically addresses duplicate birthday entries in iCal.  You can find the steps under section titled "7. Clean up birthdays and use the Birthday Calendar" in the following article:

  • How do i delete the Tuesday 9 graphic from ical invites?

How do you delete the "Tuesday 9" graphic from iCal invites?  Everytime I send an invite from iCal it gets tagged with this Tuesday 9 graphic, which is supremely annoying and very misleading for those you're sending the invite to.  Yes, I understand the signficance of Tuesday 9, but I'm trying to get past the childishness of that and actually have a functional iCal experience!
    Thanks...

This is in the Videos app ? If it is then you can hide it (you can't permanently delete any item from your purchase history) via your computer's iTunes, and it should' then show for redownloading : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
You can also turn off the showing of videos that are in the cloud via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Videos 'off'
