How do I delete unauthorized songs that won't play in iTunes?

I recently just downloaded all of my purchases I've made from my iphone, onto my itunes on my macbook.
I've also noticed there are songs that are in dull grey writing (not the solid black) so when I click on them nothing happens, I can't delete or play them at all. So I clicked "get info" and under summary it says it's not available.
It lists the song name, and album, and size, and whatnot.
Except I can't do anything with it. I have duplicates of the song too, one which works (solid black, clickable, etc) and then one that doesn't do anything (grey font, can't click, can't play, can't delete, etc)
How do I get rid of the songs/information that aren't working???

You can delete individual songs, artists, albums, playlists, compilations and composers from your iPhone. To delete an item, swipe across it, then tap Delete.

Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

i've deleted all the songs... emptied the Recycle Bin too...
i used to be able to just clear all the music away and sync in a whole new set of songs..
but i can't do it now...

You buy one and only one download.
It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Certainly you did not update your ipod without making sure that you had transferred anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and included it in your regular backup copy of your computer.

I had to do a few extra steps. First I had to go to settings and turn on show all, then back to music and saw a cloud by the one song that was showing up again and again. Then, I downloaded it to the phone (it's a new phone that I just purchased and used my backup to load onto it so maybe that is why I had to do that). Then, I went back into setting and went to the music section and turned off the show all music section again. After that, back to the music app, found the song, swiped it (think it was to the left) and voila, DELETE!
It was soooo annoying having that song play every time I plugged my phone into my car automatically. So glad it's over!

One song in a complete album that won't play, all others play, but this one says that it's not authorized to play on my computer and to enter password for apple id, which when done, says it is authorized to play on this computer and 2 others, but still won't play? What gives?

How do I delete unauthorized songs from my iPad?

A friend of mine sent me songs a while back from his iTunes account. Now, whenever I play songs on my iPad, it asks for the password of his iTunes account to be able to play the songs he sent. I simply want to delete these songs and stop dealing with this headache.
I've tried several things that have not worked:
I restored the iPad from back up.
I checked "manually sync music and videos" in iTunes, had it sync no songs, and the songs still remain on my iPad but do not show up under "Music" on the device list under my iPad in iTunes.
I tried swiping the songs, but it won't let me swipe to delete on the iPad.
I deleted the songs from my iTunes library and resynced the iPad, but they still show up on my iPad.
Please help! I'm running out of ideas. I do not want to set up my iPad as a new device, as I have several apps with saved documents.
Currently, my iPad has only the songs that will not delete on them. They are not grayed out, but when I press them to play, I'm prompted for my friend's Apple ID password.

I figured it out!
Basically, because I was restoring from an iCloud backup, iTunes wanted to download the songs from my friend's account, as well as my own collection.
So to prevent this, I deleted all the songs off my iPad, the grey songs were still there on hold to be downloaded, and backed up to my computer.
When I restored from back up, all my apps and settings were back in place, and I had no songs in my Music app, not even the greyed out ones.
Then, I resynced my iTunes music (after deleting the songs from my friend) and it no longer is trying to download those songs.
I've since gone back to syncing with iCloud and have not had any problems.

There is no way to delete songs from an iPod.
Nothing will be touched on your iPod in regards to iTunes content with the first sync with iTunes on your new computer if you transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer following the simple instructions included with the link provided. Certainly as a Windows user you maintain a backup for all important data which should include your iTunes library? Important regardless the platform but even more so with Windows due to constant virus, adware, and spyware concerns. Try this: delete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:

There are songs i purchased a year back or so that I would like to re-download to another external harddrive as I lost my main external harddrive. i have Windows Xp so it appears i cannot access the icloud. How do I get these songs again?
