I'm using my ipod to teach art, using a dlp projector. I've got pictures sorted by topic. But I need to know how to organize the photos to display in the order I want them to. Can you help?
Thanks!

You need to rename your photos using 001.name.jpg, 002, ect.
Your best bet is to open the set of images in your photo editor, like Aperture or Lightroom then sequence them to your liking then export the set of images to a seperate folder numbering them 001 to 999.jpg should be good to go.
Although I would think there must be a better way.

  • How Do I Control The Order of Photos Displayed by an Emitter

I have a Motion 4 particle emitter which is displaying a sequence of photographs and text (all transparent TIFs), which works exactly as required, except the customer has requested the photographs appear in a particular order. How can this be achieved?
I have tried changing the random seed to see if I could hit the sequence by chance, but no luck!

Great link Patrick, thanks for that! The solution as you suggested is animating the Source Start Frame, and the video make it clear. So the solution is as follows:
Set Random Start Frame and Play Frames off.
Animate the Source Start Frame by setting a keyframe at the start of the sequence with frame one, and then set a keyframe at the end with the number of the last image.
Result: Images which fall through space from the emitter and display in a known order. If the customer wants to change the order of the sequence, then rename the files and re attach to the emitter. Simples!

  • How do I change the order of photos for a slideshow?

Not sure how to do this. It's not as intuitive as I had hoped.

When the slideshow is selected you can drag/drop the thumbnails at the top of window into any order.

How can I save the order of photos in albums in Elements 11? Even though I have set as album order they revert back to original order.

Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. For me, I get the order of the last album I opened, not necessarily the 'album' order of the present album.

  • How can I change the order of photos in iPhoto so I can create the slide show I want?

How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.

Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac.  I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album.  Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu.  Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number.  Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder.  Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window.  The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc.  There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder.  Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name.  001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad.  Click on your iPad device in the list at the left.  Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right.  In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are.  Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right.  The slides will be copied to your iPad.  Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding.  Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad.  But this worked and gave me several options.  I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV.  TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I change the order of photos within an event?

iPhoto o9 won't let me change the order of photos within a single event- really annoying! I tried to view photos then click manual sort- but when I look back at the event it is not in the right order. what's wrong? Or can I even do this?

Yes you can do that - IF you go through and assign titles to every photo
You also can change the date/time on photo and iPhoto will then sort them in the new order
And you could assign unique key words to each photo such that the sort order is what you want and sort by key word
But you can not change the order in the sense most people mean - grab a photo and move it to a new location in an event
    So yes you are right

  • How can i get the order form to display only those fields selected by user?

    Hi everyone,
I'm a newbee so please bear with me.
I would like to create an interactive form in a multi-page format. I would like to display our fifty odd products, divided into 5 different categories. The client browses through these pages then selects those that he wants to buy.
The interactive order form at the end should display only the client’s choices along with the Total purchase order.
In short, a little like a on-line catalogue and cart/basket that we see while buying online.
Now, I've created my pdf brochure, and I have the order form on page 12-13 at the end with the subtotal, Vat and Total ...all that's fine. My only problem is I want the order form to display only those items selected by the user and not the entire list of items as shown in my current order form.
Have a look at my pdf here http://www.upperside.fr/vijee/mpls09ex/EXHIBITOR%20SPECIAL%20ORDERS2010.pdf
Can someone please help me/guide me to the right resources that I need to look up to achieve my end result.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Vijee

The poster already posted at the Acrobat Users Community, Interactive Forms that sums up a client order from catalog. The sample form posted to Acrobat.com was a revision of the sample form that came with Acrobat 4.0. There are some fairly advance scripts, templates, and document level functions involved with this form.

  • How can I keep the order of photos in an album when I upload it to Flickr?

When I share an iPhoto album on Flickr, the order of the photos in my album is lost. Apparently Flickr uses the photo date, but that defeats all the manual arranging I have done in my album. How can I preseve the photo order on upload?
Also, the description of each uploaded photo appears in small print and not in the main Flickr label box. This means the description cannot be seen if a photo is viewed in full screen mode. How can I automatically transfer the iPhoto descriptions to the main Flickr label boxes?
Is there a better way to share iPhoto albums on the Web (Picasso)?

I'm glad you found a solution
For for others and you in the future it is important to understand
Albums are a way to VIEW photos in your desired order within iPhoto - the photos do not have any order (in fact they are in files scattered essentially randomly accross your hard drive)
When you move the out of iPhotoand view them in another program that program determines teh order they are viewed in
An easy to see an example is the finder - files exported from iPhoto and viewed via the finder can be viewed in many different sort orders including name, date created, date modified, size, kind and label - none of these have any relation to the order the photos were in the album UNLESS you cause that to happen (like by exporting using sequential file names so teh finder name sort matched the album order) - the order you see photos in is totally determined by the program you are using to view them - if you understand how it views them then you may be able to export them so that the destination program view martches the iPhoto view
To make suggestions to Apple re exporting to Flickr (or any other outsidside service) -  iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback - and to make suggestiont to thrid party suppliers like the Picasa export plugin contact the developer of that plugin

  • How can I change the order of photos in my fotostreams?

When selecting photos for a fotostream to share with friends the exported files appear in the order they were taken. If I add more pictures later, they are added at the end of the stream as if they were ne lastest taken pics.
    How can I change that?
Exporting all of them and then creating a new stream brings back the real order, but destroys all comments.

Aperature is the same with PS - PS is PS
Lightroom - has nothing to do with sharing photos in any way - it is a photo manager with no connection to any other Apple products
FLickr and integrated into iPhoto and are easy ways to share photos - SmugMug also is popular
    Google will bring you others

  • How can I control the order of photos in a Ravel slideshow?

I'm using the web version.  After I uploaded my photos, I discovered that Ravel does not display them in alphanumeric file name order.  Instead it appears to order them by file date.  Unfortunately, I have always altered the file name to set up the order of my photos.  In the future, if I use PhotoShop to manually alter the date of the jpeg files, and then upload them, will Ravel "see" the altered date and change the order?  I've used up my upload limit, so I can't just try it and see.
On a slide note, I tried the method of sharing an album on PC as described in the Adobe FAQ, and it worked pretty well.  Two minor things I'd add:  (1) You have to first click the URL field before the copy, and (2) the URL includes two non-functional characters at the end (#!) that can be deleted from the e-mail.

Yes, as you noticed, the only option for Revel is to sort by date.  If you change the date that the photo was taken, it will indeed change the order.  This is something you can also do within the Revel app, though not currently with the web version you are using.

  • How can I change the order of photos in albums on my iPad

Hi everybody... When I place a folder with photos in it and sync it with iTunes on my iPad they are not in the order that I want to view them or play as a slideshow.  I've tried numbering the files in order, but that didn't work.  Is there away of doing this?

When syncing folders the photos are ordered by capture date - the only way to alter the order (apart from using iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac) is to amend the photo's capture dates : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221

  • How can i determine the order automator actually gets the files?

    Hi,
I'm a newbie so excuse my probably simple question, but I have a problem using Automator to change the names of files.
What I'm trying to do is using Automator to rename files that are in a specific order and have to stay that way. I'm trying to use the "Make Sequential" option to rename the files and add numbers after the filename. Everything works out fine except for that Automator somehow shuffles the files I give him before numbering them.
    Here's what I do:
-select files in Finder and add them to Automator
    -create my workflow
-sort the files in Automators "get"-window by name (which is the order they have to stay in!)
    -and start the workflow
the problem is that my files come out renamed and numbered just fine... but it always messes the order up!
how do i properly tell automator which item to start with so that the order stays in tact??
doesn't it just use the files in the "get"-window from top to bottom?
Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Hi, are you still on 10.4.x?
Automator is a bit different in each OS, not sure this will help, but take a look...
