How do I disable Autocomplete COMPLETELY without messing with other settings such as with the location bar? I still like to see websites there that I've been to, without typing it in every time, but just hate the autocomplete part.
Case: When I go to Tools - Options - Privacy then Location Bar options, there should be another option to where we can disable auto-complete from the Location Bar without messing with other settings. Example #1: I click "Nothing" and then I gotta type in the website I wanna go to every single time. Example #2: I click "History & Bookmarks" and then it auto-completes. Is there any other option just to disable Auto-Complete all together??

The automatic insertion of a period before the desired web address causes the search to error.
I currently must always manually remove this period before I type the address...very annoying.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

When I set (on two different computers) the Location Bar option: When using the location bar suggest: to "Nothing" it resets to "History and bookmarks" as soon as I close and reopen Firefox. I am using the latest vesion on Win8 on both computers. One has Bitdefender the othe McKafee. I have no obvious Addware, I use Iobit Uninstaller Advanced Care and and Driver manager on both computers. Until now I have always used Firefox as I refuse to use Explorer and I do not want to have to use Opera or another browser instead.

Also, this might be a glitch with using automatic private browsing mode. Some settings changes might not be saved in that mode.
If all else fails, do you want to try a manual hack?
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window (Windows Explorer window) showing your current settings files.
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
* (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then open '''prefs.js''' in a text editor by right-clicking it and choosing Edit or Open With. (Double-clicking leads to Windows attempting to execute it, so I do not recommend that.)
Paste this at the end of the file on its own line:
user_pref("browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled", false);
Then save the file and close your editor.
Start Firefox back up again. Did the manual change work? -

Do you have an icon at the top of the page that says 'Library'? Tap that to get back. If not, just tap on the page that shows up and this should bring up the icons at the top for Library, another for the contents of the book, and the text size, search, and bookmark.

How can I DISABLE the pop up 'Would you like to copy it to Library', preventing this message from bothering for each and every book, again and again , time after time? (Windows 7 64bit US).

Decided to setup the mail for exchange on my N8 so I could see my work emails. Worked like a charm but after a couple of hours decided I didn't like being that contactable so deleted the mailbox.
Now to the problem, during setup I was forced to enable the phone lock and had to pick a 7 digit alphanumeric code. Fair enough I thought and went ahead. When I removed the mailbox however the lock remained in place with the default auto time of 30 minutes. When I checked in Phone management there is no option to disable this lock so I thought I could at least change the default time to something bigger but when you try, it remains at 30 mins. You also can't disable the auto time as it pops up an error message saying can't unlock phone.
Does anyone know if I'm missing something obvious here or is this something which can't be disabled once it's switched on? I've done a soft reset back to factory settings with no luck and the only other thing I can think of is re installing the firmware which seems a bit extreme.

Which firmware your N8 having now? You can check firmware by choosing Call, then type *#0000#.
My N8 works fine on security setting and able to define Phone auto lock period, by choosing Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone management>Security settings>Phone and SIM card>Phone auto lock period>User defined>Lock after(minutes)
You will prompt to enter Lock code each time u define auto lock priod or enable/disable auto lock.

how come every time i'm on the phone and another call enters I answer it but it doesnt tell me anywhere who is who on each line so i can go back and forth?? it only says multiple calls and i cant hang up the other line.

I can't open Firefox. The home page doesn't come up, I just keep getting the Crash Reporter asking me to restart/quit but every time I do this the same message comes back. I've not been able to use Firefox for days now.
Since a few days we have a lot of crashes with [http://www.trusteer.com/product/trusteer-rapport Trusteer Rapport]. If you have this program, try to disable it and see if that stops the crashing.<br>

If you do not have Rapport, then we need to have a crash report ID. When you send Mozilla a crash report it just puts it in a giant database. We have no way of looking it up without the Report ID.
