How do I disable awesome bar in Firefox 4?

Hi, I would like to know how to disable the awesome bar for firefox 4. I didn't like it in FF3 and don't want it now and cannot find to disable it yet.

i've tried this but the thing just keep resetting itself as soon as i type something into the address bar. before you ask, yes, i click ok and not cancel. yes, i've made sure i set it to suggest nothing before i click ok. is there a fix for this??

The Windows bar already functions as a tab bar. Those tabs are called "windows." So, I find Firefox tab windows superfluous. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23? Let me clarify even more. The Firefox add-on you mention does not remove "tabs" windows. It only HIDES the "tabs" bar when there is only one "tab" in that window. It DOES NOT end "tabs." It does not turn "tabs" off.
I know this, because, even with the add-on you recommend, the "tabs" bar often re-appears when I open a link, which--for some unknown reason--Firefox defaults to opening in a second "tab" within the same window, rather than putting it in a new Windows bar window. This, of course, disregards what I want to happen.
I want to use my Windows bar to control my windows. I do not want my Firefox browser controlling my windows--which it calls "tabs." Can you tell me how to shut off "tabs?"

Missing awesome bar on Firefox 5.o, how to restore

I'm having two problems with Firefox 5.0.. First, there is no "awesome bar" on my home page.

How do you disable TheFreeDictionary from Mozilla Firefox?

My browser was updated yesterday to 14.0.1 version, and now every time I double click on any word in any website, TheFreeDictionary opens in a new window defining that word. I did not download it as an extension, and if I do look it up on the Add-ons Manager, I even get the option to install it, not uninstall it. It is extremely pesky since I tend to, for various reasons, copy and paste words, and it's annoying having TFD window open each time.
How can I disable it or get rid of it? Would I have to perhaps download the extension (again, apparently?) and then disable it?

How can I make awesome bar act normal

How do I make the notso "awesome bar" keep a web address' I type in? When I click the down arrow there is nothing there even though I have typed 5 websites in the bar and gone to those sites. It worked fine until v23. m Now my 5 websites that I frequent daily are gone. I reverted to v22 and no change. I don't want my history of every website showing up or every little search I have done appearing in address bar. I just want a NORMAL address bar.

Disabling plugin bar in Firefox 3.6.x for Macintosh

Just yesterday (5/24/12), I am now getting the yellow bar that alerts me on a website that, "some plugins used by this page are out of date" and asks me to update the plugins. My laptop is a PowerPC Powerbook with Firefox 3.6.28. Since it is not an Intel Mac, this is the best version of Firefox I can use along with the plugins for this computer. All plugins that can be updated, have been. Yet this yellow bar persists. So how can it now be disabled? It is very annoying! I saw suggestions for how to do it for Windows, but no instructions for Mac. Any help would be appreciated.

How to fix Spry Menu bar and Firefox with a Mac

The spry menu bar does not properly display in Firefox (Version11&12) on a mac. Have looked at a number of different ways to fix this. Included is a copy of css for menu bar. Would appreciate any suggestions.

How can I Disable XI Plugin for Firefox?

I have disabled the plugin on the Firefox plugin page (Tools>Add-ons), but it re-enables. I have changed the two .dll files to .dxx. Tools>Options>Applications does not show .pdf. Firefox by default uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin. If you haven't manually changed that, it is not an Adobe Reader issue.

How do you disable menu bar icons from being moved?

The students at our school have discovered that if you hold down the Command key and click on certain menu bar items (such as the icons for Displays, Sound, Date & Time, Keyboard Layout, etc.) it is possible to move them around. It is also possible to drag them out of the menu bar and they disappear in the normal "puff of smoke" which you get when dragging items out of the Dock. Is there a way of disabling this nifty little feature, or at least of having it reset at login?
We are using Workgroup Manager (XServe, OS X 10.4.8) to manage the setup of the student computers, and I cannot find a setting relating to management of the actions I have described. The problem is that we have enabled a Vietnamese keyboard layout. The students can select it when needing to type in Vietnamese in Word 2004, and then set it back to the normal layout (Australian, in this case). Occasionally they forget to set it back to normal. Then, if a student in the next class decides to command-drag the keyboard layout icon out of the menu bar, the Vietnamese layout either becomes the default (with no way for them to change it back) and/or sometimes "kicks in" without any discernible reason when trying to connect to the server, making logging-on a challenge (the layout re-maps some of the characters). Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have already tried enabling access to the "International" System Preference, but some students then go out of their way to add every keyboard layout (there are dozens of them!) and/or change the language settings - have you (as a mono-lingual person) ever tried to navigate through menus when they are in Chinese, Arabic, or Hungarian? We would like to be able to somehow "lock down" the icons which are displayed in the menu bar (top RH corner) so that they can not be deleted or, alternatively, re-appear at next login if they have been deleted.
