How do I disable Firefox Faster - where subsequent pages automatically load when scrolling down the page?

When I am on the website "PlentyofFish.com" and scroll down to the end of the page, the subsequent pages begin to load up and "stack up" which conceals the previous pages and contacts. This does not normally cause a problem with other websites, like news sites, where I can read from page to page without having to find the "page forward" button.

This should be in the same spot:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > uncheck the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"

• My home page is MSN and whenever I scroll down the page, the "Bing Web Search" menu drops down and covers part of the page in Windows XP. How can I prevent this from happening?

locking as a duplicate - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/811325
This only happens on the home page. The drop down appears as soon as the "Bing Web Search" at the top of the page disappears as one scrolls down the page and remains visible until I scroll all the way back to the top of the home page.

Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).

Go into settings and reset all network connections. Then restart your device by holding the power and home button until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose any data. When the device restarts connect to your wireless network.

Try "Ctrl+0" (zero) to restore normal size, see if that does anything.

Please paste the following into the location bar and report the size of your current window. (will not work from location bar in Firefox 7.0.1 but your version is more practical)

• How can I disable Firefox asking me to confirm a resend when I hit BACK button?

When I hit the back key after doing a search and clicking on a result, Firefox usually, but not always, asks me to confirm resending before taking me back. This is very annoying. I can't find any option to disable this.
Is there some way to disable this, or can I suggest it as an enhancement? When I click on BACK, I just want it to go back without prompting me to confirm it.

• While browsing in 2 or more tabs, scrolling down the page with the mouse wheel causes Firefox to unexpectedly open the tab in a new window, closing the tab in the process and losing any data on it (such as a half written email etc.).

This problem is with Firefox 3.6.15 and also in the previous version. I've tried reinstalling but no joy.
This happens a lot. Several times a day. Very irritating. I keep losing work I've typed into a text box or email, or having to go back to the beginning of things (such as audio or video) because it has reloaded in a window.
I have McAfee security which checks the computer every week and removes virus and malware so I'm pretty confident there's no problem with that.
I'm sometimes so plagued by this problem that I have to switch to other browsers (I have Chrome, Safari and IE installed) and have not experienced any similar problem with those.
The problem does not seem to be in conjunction with any plugins. Although I have plugins installed the problem happens when none of the plugins is noticeably in use.

• All downloads through Firefox are not opening correctly. Bookmarks open up a page with links flush left down the page that do not work. All file downloads do not open correctly with the same issue as bookmarks. Want to avoid losing all my bookmarks so don

Something happened in the last day with FF. IE downloads files correctly. FF Delicious bookmarks open up a page with blue links that look like an outline but they are not my links. My downloads do the same. No virus.

That can be caused by having some bookmarks with a long title in the main Bookmarks menu.
The width of a column in the Bookmarks menu list is in current Firefox versions automatically adjusted to fit the bookmark with the longest name.
You can check the names of the bookmarks and make the longer ones shorter.

• In Safari I can define what pages are loaded when I open a "New Window". How do I achieve the same in Firefox (and supress the current begavior of it opening all of the tabs that I defined as my home page all the time)?

I am returning to Firefox after having used Safari on Mac for the past year. One thing I liked about Safari was that I could define what page gets loaded when I used the File Menu command to open a new Browser Window. I defined this as opening up with my Bookmarks Menu where I then was able to select the page I wanted to go to.
I have not been able to find a way to define this in Firefox and was surprised to see that "New Window" in Firefox opens all of tabs that I've defined as my Home Page.
Is there a way to manage this?

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

• How to get an empty form when we run the page?

Hi all!
Hope you are well
My question is, how to get an empty form at run time? means when we run the page, text fields are filled with blank....Could anyone please help me with this..
Thanks in advance,
nanda.

Hi Nanda,
Just follow these steps:
1) Create a bounded taskflow (uncheck the create with fragments checkbox)
2) Drag the CreateInsert operation on your bounded taskflow and mark it as the default activity
3) Drag a view and link the CreateInsert to the view component using a control flow case
4) Double click on the view to create the page
5) Drag the view object on the page as an ADF form
6) Go back to your bounded taskflow and from the General tab make sure under visibitliy you select "url-invoke-allowed"
Run you tasfklow and your form will be rendered in insert mode.
Regards

• How can I disable Firefox from automatically opening on system startup on my Mac - unchecking the "open at login" does not work?

We have Firefox 10.o on our Macbook Pro OS X 10.5.8. I prefer using Firefox as my browser but my husband prefers Safari for now because of a long history of bookmarks and saved information he doesn't have time to re-do. He is tired of Firefox automatically opening when we start up the laptop, and even when we uncheck the "open at login" it still opens at login every time. He is about to uninstall it because of this. How can we disable? It does NOT show up in our account on the Mac OS as an application that starts at login, so we can't disable it there.

For those of you running Windows, I found this on another site. (Unfortunately, not before getting totally disgusted and switching to chrome.)
1. click start (or the windows flag button at the bottom left) 2. in the "search programs and files" or the RUN dialog box, enter "msconfig.exe" or "msconfig". 3. That should open the system configuration program. 4. click the "Startup" tab at the top of the opened program. 5. Under the "startup item" column, look for Mozilla firefox. 6. uncheck that one. 7. Click OK or apply. 8. click "exit without restart". 9. you're good to go.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See:
* Troubleshooting extensions and themes
* Troubleshooting plugins
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
