How do I disable iCloud from my broken iPhone?

The screen of my iPhone 4 was destroyed and is now perminantly black - as a result I'm now using my old iPhone 3G.
My question is - when my friends with iPhones send a text it still goes out to me as an 'iMessage' and because I'm on the 3G I never receive it. Everything I've read says I need to disable iCloud from the devise...but when the screen is completely black I'm not sure how to do that. I've check iCloud.com but do not see a place where I can "unlink" my phone from the cloud – unless 'wipe my iPhone is the solution'.
Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Remote Wipe should solve the problem.

  • How can I disable icloud from an old mac ?

I gave away my old Mac book Pro. I reseted the icloud password after giving away my Mac. It turns out that I have received word from the new owner that photos and videos from my icloud are showing in that Mac. Is there any way to disable icloud on that Mac?

Not for you, but you could ask the new owner to sign out of the account and delete your stuff.

  • How do i transfer contacts from a broken iphone to another?

How do i transfer contacts from my iphone that will not turn on, to another working iphone?

    Hey dbricknr,
If you signed into your device with an iCloud account and backed up your contacts through iCloud, the next time you go onto that new working iPhone be sure to sign in into your iCloud account.
To do so, please follow perform these instructions on your iPhone:
Settings > iCloud > You should see somewhere with an option to sign in, from there sign in. > Once you do that, go back to the iCloud settings page on your iPhone and make sure Contacts are on.
Turning the contacts slide on should backup your new contacts you added on this phone, (If I'm correct)
Your contacts should now appear in your contacts section.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I remove data from my broken iPhone 3GS from iTunes, iCal, contacts?

    Help .....
I recently fried my iPhone 3GS and the data used to be synced using iTunes. I have iPad and iMac, which data are synced using iCloud. The data in iMac are duplicated by the iPhone and iPad. Can any one guide me how to remove the iPhone data from iTunes, iCal and address book please. Thanks

Turning your email off in settings doesn't remove the email from your account.  You have to delete it from your device or from icloud.com, then empty the trash to remove it from your account.  Same thing with contacts.

  • How do you transfer everything from a broken iphone 4s to a friends old iphone 4?

My iphone 4s has water damage, a broken lock button and will no longer turn on or charge. I want to transfer my contacts, apps, messages and photos to an old iphone 4, and keep my original phone number.

"okay great and how do i keep my original phone number?"
Put your Sim card in it.  The phone number comes from the SIM card.
"and my friend wants to keep her pictures on the oldiphone 4s is that possible?"
Not if you sync it to your computer.
The pics should be on your friends computer.  Why do they want the on the iphone?

  • How can I disable iCloud on my iMac and my iPod touch 5th gen?

My ipod touch 5th gen now syncs through icloud. How can I disable icloud from my ipod and my imac and go back to syncing through iTunes.  Is it possible to do this without losing the data in contacts and ical?  Any ideas would be much appreciated!

With the iPod connected to your computer go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck the box that says: Sync with this iPod over Wi-Fi.
Also in the Summary pane check the box that says backup to the computer.

how can i disable imessage from automatically starting up when i turn on macbook air? i dont know my imessages to pop up on my laptop when it turns on. But i dont want to disable imessage totally on my macbook.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, check that Messages is closed when you turn off your MacBook. This is so important because, by default, OS X will reopen all opened apps the next time you start your Mac.
Apart from that, when you go to  > Shut Down, or  > Restart, in the window you see to restart or turn off your MacBook, unmark "Reopen windows when logging back in". This will avoid that your Mac opens all opened apps the next time you start the MacBook, so Messages won't start automatically at startup

  • How do I stop iCloud from sharing with other devices on my apple i.d?

My kids and I all share the one Apple i.d as they are young. I have just upgraded my iphone (to iphone 4) and I'm setting up iCloud for the first time. I have absolutely no idea how to use it.
I use my Calendar a lot, for all my appointments etc.
How do I prevent iCloud from sharing my Calendar, photos, messages, emails and everything else with my kids iphone and ipad? Some things are best kept private!
I have gone into settings, iCloud and tunred mail, calendar, contacts, photos and nearly everything to OFF. Will tha take care of the problem? Will iCloud still work on my phone then?

Yes, that should work. But let me ask one question, why do you set up your iCloud on your kids devices? If you share your Apple ID for store purchases (Apps, Music, Movies etc.) then just set it up in "Settings > iTunes & App Stores". Your kids do not need your iCloud account on their devices to get access to your media.

  • How can I remove icloud from my iphone as I don't want my whole mailbox on it?

Is it possible to only receive email without having my whole mailbox downloaded?  If not, how do I remove icloud from my devices?

Create a new ID for yourself.
Of course that will have none of your items purchase in the old ID.
Once you have an ID then log into that ID on the iPhone.

  • How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only?

How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only, which have a different user with a separate Apple ID?

You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
