For the passcode, what passcode are your referring to? Your Apple ID passcode? If so, go to Manage your Apple ID, click on reset password, and answer the Security Questions. If you can't remember the Security Question answers, contact iTunes Support so that they can reset them for you:

Might you have a newly acquired iPad that is still locked to someone else's Apple ID? If that is the case, then you will need the former owner's Apple ID and password to proceed. That feature is called Activation Lock and described here:

If you cannot get that former owner's Apple ID and password, you will never be able to use the iPad.

There are two files that ought to change when you set your preference:

Try moving both of them out of the prefs folder. Then launch System Preferences and reset your preference to whatever you want (or uncheck the box altogether). See if that works. If it it does you will have to also reset your other System Prefs, since all will be returned to the default. If it doesn't do the trick, you can put the originals back and thus avoid the resetting.

Also when I am trying to connect ipad to my windows PC, it shows, your software is up to date and later starts restoring while updating again. Then automatically it stops to update halfway and I have to repeat the process again and again, still in vain.
