  • How to permanently disable this message: "Press Esc to exit full screen." (by Adobe Flash Player) in Mac's Safari Browser?

    Hello everyone,
I have been searching for sometime (without any success) for a solution to permanently remove this annoying message: "Press Esc to exit full screen."
Whenever I go to full screen mode, watching any video on YouTube, BBC, CNN (or many other websites which use Adobe Flash Player for streaming video) I have to bare seeing this message for several seconds until it fades away. Seeing this message once or twice would have been okay, but as we all watch many videos on a daily basis on internet, after weeks, months and now years seeing this message over and over again many times every day, it becomes very annoying, and I find myself rewinding many videos to their beginning after this message fades away to be able to watch it from the beginning without anything obstructing it!
Does anyone know how to "permanently" disable this message from appearing?
I am using the latest version of Safari 6.0 on the latest version of OS X (Mountain Lion 10.8.1), and have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (Plug-in version 11.4.402.265) installed on my new MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display.
    Thanks,
    Ally

    Thanks Carolyn,
I am attaching a screenshot here for you to see that this setting was already set to what you suggested. I didn't need to change it as it was like this even before I post this message.
So the problem still presists and unfortunately your suggestion is not a solution to this probelm.
Last night I did more reseach and found a discussion in Adobe website, it seems a lot of other people have the same issue, and even started a discussion in Adobe website about it. But unfortunately Adobe refuses to address it and enable the end user at least to have an option to turn this message off from displaying permanently on his/her computer.
I am writing down the url links for the two posts regarding this issue on Adobe's website:
    Link #1: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/921270
    Link #2: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3058752
Hopefully more people will get involved and ultimately we will either get Adobe's attention, or someone will find a "hack" and post it here for all of us. I have found some suggested "hacks" for Windows environment (you can simply google it, I am sure you will find them too). But so far I haven't seen anything for Mac's Safari browser.
    Cheers,

  • How can I disable Text Messaging on my Iphone?

How can I disable Text Messaging on my Iphone -- so I do not receive any texts. I do not have nor currently want an AT&T text plan, and I really don't want to be charged .20 for the text messages that will inevitably be sent my way from friends & coworkers who do not know I don't want texts.
AT&T had a link only for blocking spam texts, but I don't think this will stop standard SMS texts.
Anyone do this? Does this involve a call to AT&T. There must be a way to disable it, no?
    Thanks in advance!

You would have to ask AT&T if they can turn off your text capabilities.

How do you disable i messaging when switching to a non iphone?

Nope, that doesn't actually do the trick.  It might keep i messages from going to your i phone but still won't allow them to go to your new device.

  • How can i disable i message?

How do I disable i message without my i phone or apple device present????

You can't turn it off on your computer for iMessage on your Mac or PC. It is impossible. And yes, you have to turn it off on your iPhone.
    1. > slide to unlock
    2. Tap Settings
    3. Go to below and tap Messages.
    4. Tap on the little button that has light green.
    5. Tap to turn it off and enter the password. That's it.

  • How can i disable the message "leave page / stay on page"

How can i disable the message "leave page / stay on page" please explain step by step if if it involved inserting java script.
    Thanks

These three userscripts are along the same lines as the one link to above:
    * [http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/180752 AllowPageClose] - recently posted, appears to run a timer to watch for changes and make sure it's really dead
    * [http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/121551 Disable - remove onbeforeunload]
    * [http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/98260 Kill Sure Want To Nav Away]
None of the four scripts has any mechanism for site exceptions built into it, but you can make exceptions using Greasemonkey's user settings tab. You do that using the script's Options dialog. You can do that from the Add-ons page, User Scripts category. Either:
    * Monkey toolbar button > Manage User Scripts
    * Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Alt+a) > User Scripts
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > User Scripts
Then click the Options button for the relevant script. On the User Settings tab, in the Excluded Pages box, you can enter the site that you want to carve out of the script. Note that in order to match all pages on the site, you need to use the wildcard character (*) as shown in the attached screen shot.

  • How do I disable the messages setup window at startup?

Everytime I start my Macbook and launch Safari, a window pops up asking me to set up messages with my email accounts.  I do not want to use this feature.  How do I disable this window?

    Hi,
In System Preferences > iCloud or Internet accounts  disable the Messages tick box for that email.
I am presuming at least one is an Apple ID that can be used with AIM  (All Apple IDs issued by Apple - @Mac.com and iCloud linked @me.com and @icloud.com) as they are also Valid AIM Screen Names from and agreement that is now over 10 years old.
Google Mail IDs can become valid GoogleTalk IDs is Talk is enabled at Google's accounts settings web page.
Facebook IDs can be connected to Facebook Chat IDs if you enable Chat at Facebook.
Both run Jabber servers and can be used in Messages.
Safari will list some of these in File Menu > Share which may be effected by the above settings (I use Firefox rather than Safari)

Whenever I send a message in Facebook it attaches my location which is a bit creepy, yet all of the information I've found about how to shut this feature off seems to be outdated. How do I disable the location services for the Facebook app in the latest version of iOS?

I've tried looking there but do I disable ALL location services (wouldn't that effect every app?) There doesn't seem to be a specific option to disable Facebook location services specifically.

  • How do I DISABLE text message forwarding between my iPad and iPhone?

I want to DISABLE text forwarding from my iPhone 5 (IOS 8.1.1) to my IPad 4 (IOS 8.1.1) but....I have already tried the following (so PLEASE do not make these suggestions):
I want to be able to text from my iPhone and those text messages (either SMS or iMessage) NOT go to my iPad.  BUT, I want to also text from my iPad and those messages NOT go to my iPhone.  I want the text messages to stay on each device independently.
Since I still want to be able to text from my iPad, I do NOT want to turn off iMessage.  If I turn off iMessage, I cannot text from my iPad.
    I disabled HANDOFF
I disabled TEXT MESSAGE FORWARDING (from my iPhone)
Creating a new Apple ID is not an option since there is other data that I need between devices.
Having followed these steps, I still cannot stop the texts from forwarding between devices.  Any ideas?

On your iPad, can you deselect your phone number as an option in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at and then add an email address at which you can be reached? My iPod Touch is set up to use an email address (I have 6 email accounts) and the messages on my iPod do not sync with my other devices.
I Do have to say that it has been ages since I set up the Touch for Messages, but I am running iOS 8 on it. I can't remember if I had to sign out of messages and start all over again on the touch in order to deselect the iPhone number.

  • How do I disable video messages?

I do not want people to be able to send me video messages.  They serve me no purpose and waste space on my hard drive as I cannot find a way to delete them.  So is there any way to disable video messages being sent to me?  Also, is there any way to delete the ones that have already been sent?

I stand corrected. That's good to know. Thanks. I also found an option to prevent them from being embedded into the chat which is nice. I still would like to disable them, but given this new information, the issue is far less important.

  • How do I disable remote debugging in JDeveloper??

I am having a problem disabling the remote debugging feature inside JDeveloper 9i. I currently have a workspace in which I has set up a remotely debuggable project and another "normal" project which contains the client application that accesses my remote application. When I start the remote application, I am able to attach the remote debugger inside JDeveloper and it works just fine. However, when I attempt to debug my local project, it starts with the following JVM parameters :
    java -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=1552
and fails to start since it cannot attach to a remote process. I have double-checked the project settings and the remote debugging checkbox is NOT select for the local project. I have even resorted to restarting JDeveloper, but that failed to resolve the problem.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

    Hi David,
Some things concern me about the java command you show in your post:
    1. On Windows, JDeveloper should be starting javaw, not java. In your post, you show a java command. Is it really java or is it javaw?
    2. JDeveloper should be specifying which JVM to use. In your post, you show a java command where there is no JVM specified (there is no -ojvm or -hotspot). Check your project settings - on the Libraries panel, what J2SE (JDK) are you using? on the Runner panel, what Virtual Machine is selected?
Other than that, the command you show in your post (the command that JDev launches when you try to debug your local project) contains (mostly) the correct command options for local debugging with a JVM which supports JPDA debugging (for example, classic or hotspot).
Let me explain the command options:
java -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,address=1552-Xdebug Enables debugging.
-Xnoagent Disables old debugging agent (also called sun.tools.debug).
    -Djava.compiler=NONE Disables the JIT compiler.
-Xrunjdwp Loads the JPDA JDWP library.
:transport=dt_socket Use sockets for communicating with the debugger.
,server=y Listen for a debugger to attach.
    ,address=1552 Use port 1552.
JDev will use the above command options when you do local debugging with a JVM other than OJVM. (Note that -Xnoagent and -Djava.compiler=NONE are not required for HotSpot, but are accepted and ignored.)
The command that you show is not trying to connect to anything.
When JDev does remote debugging, it does not start the java process at all.
I think there is some other reason why your program does not start up. What other messages are displayed in the Log Window? Do you see messages like "Debugger attempting to connect to local process." or "Debugger connected to local process." or "Debugger unable to connect to local process."?
    -Liz
