How Do I Disable Ringtones in iTunes 7.5

I just upgraded to iTunes 7.5, and a new menu item named Ringtones appears in the left playlist window. I don't have an iPhone, and don't forsee getting one anytime soon, and want to disble this item. When I go to my general preferences, its shows up as a shaded item that I can't uncheck. Is this just Apple's way of annoying us until we all buy an iPhone? If so, that kinda *****. Any ideas on how to disable it?
Thanks

I run both Panther (10.3.9) and Tiger (10.4.11) on separate partitions. I just upgraded to iTunes 7.6 (from 7.4) on each. The first thing I noticed was the ringtone icon ...which I have no use for. With Tiger, I have the option to uncheck the selection, but with Panther it's greyed out ...as previously stated in this thread. I see the last previous entry in this thread is 12/16 ...so I guess no one has yet come up with a fix. Since this problem has existed since v7.5, am I to assume that it's something apple has no interest in addressing? hrumpf!!!

  • How do I get ringtone from iTunes to iPhone?

I bought a ringtone from iTunes, but it downloaded itself to 'Music' folder instead of the 'Tones' folder. I can sync it to my iPhone (in the music folder) but cannot select it as a ringtone. Bizarre!
In addition, the inflexibility of iTunes means that I cannot simply drag and drop the ringtone to the tones folder in iTunes on my mac prior to sync. No idea why?
Can anyone help? In short, how do I get my iTunes purchased ring tone in to the ringtones folder on my iPhone. Surely it cannot be so unecessarily complicated ...?
    Thanks.

You probably purchased a song that was designed to be converted to a ringtone.  To confirm this, right-click on the file in iTunes, select "Get Info", then verify on the Summary tab that ie says "Kind:Ringtone".  If it doesn't, you must frst convert it to a ringtone, then import the converted file into the Tones folder of your iTunes library in order to sync it to your phone.  This video will show you how to do this: http://cnettv.cnet.com/create-free-ringtones-itunes-10/9742-1_53-50093086.html.  (If you're using iTunes 11, first go to View>Show Sidebar in order to follow along with the video.)

  • How do you disable "Connect to iTunes to Enable Push Notification" Message when opeing an app? Thie message is compeleyely annoying and theres is no way to cancel it. You have to clcik on "OK" to use the app.

How do you disable the "Connect to iTunes to Enable Push Notifications" prompt when opening apps on an iPad (OS7)? The message is completely annoying and there is no way to cancel it. You must click on "OK" to use the app. I have already disabled notifications on those apps in the Notification Center.

The best way to do this is to leave all files unchanged, but render the file containing that horrendous bird noise unreadable to the system. Open a terminal window, and paste this command:
    sudo chmod 000 /System/Library/Frameworks/Social.framework/XPCServices/com.apple.twitter.xpc/C ontents/Resources/TwitterSent.caf
That's it. Your Tweets should hereinafter be silent unless you change TwitterSent.caf's permissions again.

  • How do I create ringtones from iTunes songs with Garageband?

I have an iPhone 5s.  Is it possible to convert itunes songs into ringtones with Garageband ios?

Yes, you can, if you sync your iTunes songs to the Music.app.
    See this Help-Page:
    http://help.apple.com/garageband/iphone/2.0/index.html#chs39284d66
Share a GarageBand song as a ringtone or text tone
In the My Songs browser, tap the Select button, then tap the song you want to export (or touch and hold the song).
Tap the Action button , then tap Share Song As Ringtone. The Export Ringtone panel opens, showing the name for the ringtone. By default, the ringtone uses the same name as the song. The maximum length for exported ringtones is 30 seconds. If the exported ringtone exceeds the maximum length, a dialog appears. Tap Continue to have GarageBand shorten the ringtone automatically, or tap Cancel to return to the song so you can shorten it.
To rename the ringtone, tap the name and type a new name.
    Tap Export.
In the Ringtone Export Successful panel, do one of the following:
To return to the My Songs browser, tap OK.
To choose a use for the ringtone, tap Use sound as, then do one of the following:
To use the ringtone as your standard ringtone, replacing the existing ringtone, tap Standard Ringtone.
To use the ringtone as your standard text tone, replacing the existing text tone, tap Standard Text Tone.
To see a list of your contacts, tap Assign to Contact, then tap the contact you want to use the ringtone with.
To return to the My Songs browser without assigning the ringtone, tap Done to return.
The next time you sync your device, the ringtone also appears in the GarageBand File Sharing area in iTunes. You can drag it to the Tones list to add it to your iTunes ringtone library.
And see this page, how to add a song from the Music.app to a track in GarageBand:
Import a song from the Music app   http://help.apple.com/garageband/iphone/2.0/index.html#chsb3f15dc4

  • How can I buy ringtones in itunes 10.7.0.21 store?  I do not see any options in the store at all.

I do not see any options for ringtones in the itunes 10.7.0.21 store, where can I find them so that I can purchase some ringtones?

Unfortunately you can only get ringtones from the iTunes store app on your phone. I’m guessing they did that so people wouldn’t create their own ringtones for free. So all you do is go to your iTunes store app then go to more then tones.

  • How do you disable warnings in iTunes 8?

Hi all. Since upgrading to iTunes 8, I'm getting "Are you sure you want to delete?" warnings again, when I've always disabled them in previous versions. Every once in awhile, the dialog has a "do not warn me again" box, but it never takes effect when I select it.
Am I missing something? Is anyone else getting this? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you mean the HTTP referer, you can't without installing additional software such as PithHelmet.
