How do I disable Setup Assistant in Accessibility?

How do I disable Setup Assistant in Accessibility? It has completely ruined the look of the page.

Sandy,
I've viewed the link you posted, but that method does not seem to apply to my particular phone. Please consider the version numbers of my phone which I posted above. When I view the Options for Backup Assistant - cancelling my subscription or uninstalling is not an option. The only available Backup Assistant options are:
* Set Schedule
* View Mobile #
* Change PIN
* Help
* About
I suspect this is because Backup Assistant was pre-installed on my phone when I received it.
As a preemptive strike to what I'm guessing you will suggest next, I do not believe performing a "Restore Phone" (a.k.a. Factory Reset) on my phone will allow me to uninstall Backup Assistant either. I believe I saw a post where another LG Cosmos 3 user had tried this, and Backup Assistant was there even after the Restore Phone.
Regardless, I like your enthusiasm. I agree, let's fix this!
Thanks,
Gary

    Question: Do you think the response from the support staff is correct? I mean, surely, I can't be the only CF user on a shared box whose other users need to modify the date and time within their applications. Even if they do it at the application level for their domain, surely it wouldn't affect mine, would it? That was what was implied by the support people, but I have a feeling they are way off, or covering for some goof-up on their end. I struggled like hell yesterday trying to get this to work and I did not get very far at all.
    I found an interesting tutorial here which does a comparison of time zones and, theoretically, this might do the trick. But if what the guy told me was nonsense then I won't bother with it. For the record, our calendar has been working fine for about a week now.

    How do I start Setup Assistant to activate cellular service

    Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer, insert a new SIM from your carrier, then connect the phone to iTunes and Restore it. Unless it is a Verizon or Sprint phone; then call the carrier to activate it.

  • Can I disable "Setup Assistant" at start up?

    I have a new computer, and transferred all my iTunes data manually to the new computer. For some reason, whenever I start up iTunes, I get the "setup assistant." I hit "cancel," and my iTunes library starts up as it should. In other words, all my data is in place. I am afraid to go through the setup assistant, because I'm worried it will add duplicates of all my music, and I'll have to go to a lot of effort to clean it all up. Can I disable the setup assistant? How?

    AFAIK, there is no setting to disable it.

  • How do I bypass setup assistant?

    When I recently re-installed my OS, I migrated (by hand) my iTunes library into the proper place before running iTunes for the first time. I then hit cancel when the iTunes Setup Assistant came up. I believe I have done this previously without problems.
    However, this time I get the setup assistant every time I launch iTunes. If I hit cancel, all is fine - my files and settings are all there that had been migrated. But the setup assistant keeps coming back...
    Is there a way to let it know I don't need it?

    I don't now how to switch that off, but have you tried just letting it do what it wants?
    Answer no to all the questions and it should not come back the next time you run iTunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I find setup assistant

    When I installed OS X Lion, I cancelled the setup assistant process, intending to complete it when I had the time.
    now I can't find it and I think there were things I should have done.
    How do I find it now?
    Thanks!

    Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now, no matter what happens. If you’re not sure, STOP.
    This procedure is for advanced users only. If you don't understand it, don't do it.
    Launch the Terminal application. Copy or drag – do not type – the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
    Reboot. The Setup Assistant will launch.

  • How to rerun the setup assistant after it has already run

    Here's the deal. I have searched but can't find an answer to this problem.
    I'm selling a MacBook Pro with 10.5.6. I zeroed the drive and did a clean install. I created an admin account and completed all of the software updates. The MBP is now clean as a whistle and ready to roll. A nice touch would be for the Welcome video and setup assistant to run just like a brand new Mac for this newbie Mac user.
    How can I make it happen?
    I know I can reinstall and leave it at that but then the new guy is going to have to sit through all of the software updates.

    yes he will, and that would be for the best. it's possible to do what you want but it will leave the admin account you made on the mac. that would really freak the buyer and I wouldn't want to do it to anybody. as a buyer I would not trust a computer sold to me in that condition.
    just do an erase and install, restart when prompted to and as soon as the setup assistant shows up quit it using command+q and shut down.

  • How to rerun the setup assistant

    I  deleted previous backups from the Cloud from previous iPhones because it said Inwas out of free space to backup. Now that I have the space theonly way I can turn cloud backups on again is to run the setup assistant. Well the assistant only will run when you upgrade or program a new phone which neither apply to me. Doe anyone know how I can run the assistant manually or otherwise so I can turn the cloud backups back on please?

    You have to go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will completely erase the phone.  Then go through the setup screens again and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts.
    Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as it restores the backup.

  • How do you disable backup assistant?

    Does anyone know how to disable backup assistant? It doesn't work very well for me and I don't want it messing up
    my contacts on my phone anymore.  Thanks, Geoff

    How do you turn of the backup assistant on Droid X that is causing issues regarding Contacts?
    On your phone, go to Settings (it’s the left button on the bottom of the phone)
    Then click on ‘Settings;
    Then click on ‘Accounts’
    There you should see an account referring to an email account.If you don’t see an account referring to an email account, I recommend that you go to a ‘Verizon’ store where they can assist you.
    If there is an account referring to an email account, click on that account.
    You should see links for ‘Sync Books’, ‘Sync Contacts’, ‘Sync Gmail (for example), and ‘Sync Calendar’If you do not see an account you are looking for, I suggest that you go to a ‘Verizon’ store where they can assist you.
    If you have found the account(s) you are looking for, make sure that the check box for that account is ‘greyed out’.  If not, the click on that account and ‘grey ou the check box’.
    For those who are having issues with syncing there’re ‘Contacts’ between Gmail and their Droid X, this should solve that issue.  This has been successfully tested.

  • Where do I find setup assistant in Mavericks?

    I did a clean istall with Mavericks and now time machine doesn't access any time prior to install. Possibly setup assistant will access this but I can't find it to launch it.
    Mid 2011 iMac 27"
    8GB Ram
    OS X 10.9
    external iomega HD 1 terabyte for Time Machine

    Most likely, some folders were inadvertently excluded from your backups, and as a result you can't restore your data in Recovery, Setup Assistant, or Migration Assistant.
    Starting from a fresh installation of OS X, set up a new administrator account and log in. Enter Time Machine and press the key combination shift-command-C. The front window will show all mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible.* Select the one you want and navigate to your home folder (in the Users folder at the top level of the old startup volume.)
    You should now be able to restore your user data. I suggest you do this in two stages. Quit all applications except the Finder before you begin.
    Restore all the visible items at the top level of your home folder.
    Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. Enter Time Machine and restore all items in the Library folder. Log out and log back in as soon as the restore is complete.
    Any other invisible folders or files at the top level of your home folder that you want to preserve will have to be restored separately. For most users, that isn't necessary.
    You'll have to reinstall all third-party applications from scratch, or restore them from another kind of backup, if you have one.
    You'll have another problem if this is a new computer, or if you erased the startup volume: The next time you back up, Time Machine won't recognize any files as being the same as they were before, and will make a full copy of all files. There might not be enough space on one or more of your backup volumes for that. There are different ways of dealing with that situation, depending on your needs. The easiest way is to set your backup drives aside, if possible, until you're sure you'll no longer need the data on them, then erase them and start over. Meanwhile start a new backup on one or more empty storage devices. If that solution isn't workable for you, ask for instructions.
    *If you don't see any snapshots in Time Machine, exit the time-travel view and then hold down the option key while selecting
    Browse Other Backup Disks...
    from the Time Machine menu, which has an icon that looks like a clock running backwards. Select the backups of your computer by its previous name. If you don't have the Time Machine menu, open the Time Machine preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked
    Show Time Machine in menu bar

  • Bypassing Setup assistant and Install assistant

    I am trying to do a command line / automated installation of Lion. I would like to know how to restore InstallESD.dmg or OSInstall.mpkg to  a blank partition without the  Install assistant.  I would also like to know how to bypass the setup assistant after reboot.

    I am willing to use Single-User mode for creating the first user account.  However, before I can even get there, I am unable to bypass the Install Assistant (where it asks for the volume for the OS and agreement).  I want to have this entire process automated, starting from the InstallLion.app in the Applications folder, ending with a brand new bootable OS.  This is all to be done on a Mac Book Pro.
    I tried -
    1. asr restore --source InstallESD.dmg --target /Volumes/<target> - But this creates the equivalent of a bootable DVD.
    Also tried -
    2. installer --pkg OSInstall.mpkg --target /Volumes/<target> - This gives "There is nothing to be installed"
    Thirdly, I tried
    3. asr restore --source BaseSystem.dmg --target  /Volumes/<target> and copied kernelcache, boot.efi and mach_kernel to /Volumes/<target> and added
    <key> Kernel Cache <\key>
    <string>\kernelcache<\string> to
    /Volumes/<target>/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
    All of the above bring up Install Assistant. What I want to see is a bootable volume with a brand new, usable OS(Lion) on it.
    Any help on this with be deeply appreciated.

  • Disable AD account with access policy

    Hi all,
    how can I disable AD account with access policy (or create AD account in disabled state)
    Regards,
    Vladimir

    Access Polcies are just for triggering provisioning. You can custom AD connector or write your own to create user in disabled state using JNDI.Hi Dewan,
    I have to create a simple demo system, and I need a solution which is not too weird (that means use as little of disparate technologies as possible).
    I have two connected systems:
    1. HR system, which is a trusted source for user and organizational data.
    2. AD system, which is my provision destination.
    I want to comply to the following requirements:
    1. When a user is created in HR system, a new OIM account shall be created, and a new AD account shall or shall not (depending on HR data) be created in AD in disabled state
    2. When a user is marked as dismissed in HR system, the AD account if exists, shall be disabled and moved to some special place in AD tree.
    3. Same rules shall apply if the OIM account is created or marked as "Dismissed" manually by OIM administrator.
    I use OIM reconciliation to get source data and it is no problem for me to create any reconciliation event I need.
    I was considering creating Group->Access Policy->Resource chains, but Access Policy allows only to manage AD attributes, not account enable status.
    Or should I add some unmapped pseudo-attribute to AD connector and a task which will enable/disable AD account based on the value of this attribute?
    What other options do I have?
    Regards,
    Vladimir

    I am using the Adobe Customization Wizard utility to create a transform file to then install Adobe Reader 11.0.0.x via a group policy.  Upon first running the Reader after installing with the transform file the Accessibility Setup Assistant dialogue box appears.  Is there a way to either disable this or preset the accessibility options to take the recommended settings and skip the setup process using the customization wizard?
