How do I disable the facebook plugins?

How do I uninstall the facebook plugins? I'm currently having problem loading pages because my office server blocks everything that it was not blocking before. The 'safe site' that I'm browsing indirectly prompting to facebook plugins which causing the server to block the website. I didn't install any facebook add ons or plugins as well.

In the iPhoto/Web preference pane set Check for new published photos to Manually. I think that may do it.

  • How do I disable the "some plugins are out of date" message

I am running firefox 3.6.3 on a powerpc mac laptop. There are no more upgrades to either firefox or any of the plugins it is using. It's a powerpc and the current updates of the plugins all require an intel based mac. I constantly get the message "some plugins used by this page are out of date" message above the screen, or Firefox disables plugins because it says they are a security risk. I don't care. This is an old computer that would work fine if Firefox would just stop trying to upgrade either itself or its plugins, or try to warn me about something that can't be upgraded and that I don't care about. MAC rule number one: The user is in charge. How do I fix this annoying and PC like feature?
In the future if Firefox is going to continue to have this "feature" it should keep track of what kind of computer it is running on and what what updates can and can not run on the computer it is running on, or give the user the option of turning off not only the messages but the whole plugin update function.

  • How do I disable the java plugin?

    I have already done
    -tools->Internet options->Advanced
    - unchecked 'use java2 1.4.2_04 for < applet> (requires restart)'
    - checked Microsoft VM java console enabled (requires restart)
    - reinstalled the MS JVM (MSJavWU_8073687b82d41db93f4c2a04af2b34d)
    - set my class ID to
<OBJECT classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"> which is supposed to be for MS
Every time I run the applet, the java plugin console appears with 1.4.2_04 version running.
    what else can I do?

I created my applet using 1.4 and I want to be sure that it works for people without the plugin. Applet tags alone cause a gray box, while Object tags work but seem to invoke the plugin.
Also is there a way to check the highest JVM/ plugin version needed for my applet? I don't want to have to manually thumb through javadocs for each object in each file to check when it first appeared. I also don't want to have to download each environment and try to compile the applet.
    Thanks.

  • How can I disable the Facebook app from auto-playing videos?

Is there away to disable Video auto playing in Facebook App on iphone 5, os 7?

They do not let you disable it- but there is a way sort of to turn the annoyance off part time:
    Settings–>Facebook–>Settings–>Auto-play videos on WiFi only
    Doesn't make it less annoying

  • How can I disable the Facebook Notification in Firefox 6 which takes my focal point from what I am typing until I close the notification in the lower right corner.

When I have Facebook open, I get pop-ups in the lower right corner that tell me that I have new notifications or messages in Facebook. When the little pop-up shows, no matter what I am typing, my cursor is taken away until I click the x to close the pop-up. It is very annoying and slows me down so much. It disables my typing.
If this cannot be resolved, I will either go back to version 5 or uninstall Firefox completely.

Do a custom install and install each version in its own program folder to use multiple Firefox versions.

  • How do I disable the "additional plugins are required..." error message? I removed Quicktime because of an incredible annoying security beep and I don't want the plugin or a constant reminder.

I want to right click on the error message and choose "do not show again."

  • How do I disable the new feature that disables outdated plugins unless they are clicked?

I'm running Adobe Acrobat 8. I'm happy with it. Firefox has a new feature that automatically disables the PDF plugin unless it's clicked. It's called the "Click to Play" feature. Even when disabled, it's not really disabled: it activates itself for "vulnerable plugins." Though there is an option to make a website trusted for plugins, there is seemingly no way to make the PLUGIN ITSELF trusted. As a result, every time I get a PDF, I have to Click to Play.
Question: How do I truly disable this stupid new feature?
There is the following support article that explains this new system, and that the only solution is trust a website, but apparently can't disable the feature or trust the plugin:

  • How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox Version 18 or higher startup?

This thread carries on from a discussion about How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox startup? As clearly Tylerdowner did not like my previous message and so would like me to obviously start a whole new thread to find out what’s going on.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/938821
Tyler: I am still looking for support and so are the other 83 people who have this problem. Hence why I am here, not to have to start another thread, not to have a go at you or just to run around further to get a clear, straight forward answer. I am now back to running Version 12 (which, has not solved the problem), with up-to-date plugins which are all supported.
Don’t fob us off, PLEASE HELP. Unless I am very much mistaken, this is the place we are meant to find help, right? Not to be completely blown off because somebody says something you don’t like. Perhaps someone better suited to this will help. I’ll follow on from then with MY problem from Tyler’s final comment as it is highly relevant:
Tylerdowner: Rumor Control, if you are running Firefox 18 with up to date plugins, then you are having a different problem than this thread is about. This is for Firefox 3.6 users who have old plugins, not those with updated software.

I should also add this info for all to see clear as part of my question (can be seen in More system details too):
I liked that version, was the first ever FireFox browser I tried and because of it made it my number 1 browser. There have been a heck of a lot from 3.6 to 18 though I think we’d all agree. Progress can and often is messy, but worth it.
Which is fine except mine, a different version, up-to-date plugins – and I’ve still same problem as these guys. It’s exactly the same even for me who has updated: How do we get rid of the Plugin Check Screen every time we start FireFox? I know I am up-to-date – as it tells me every single time!
I agree everyone should be up-to-date with the software and this may very well be the case that solves a lot of people with lower versions – yet I can say I updated from version 12 to the latest 18, spent the time getting half a dozen different updates as it wanted (all of which are supported according to the link you provided) plugins and yet I am still having the same problem as users with 3.6 and older plugins! Went back to version 12.0 and I am getting the problem since installing version 18.
Therefore from the fact I’m still getting the popup every time telling me everything is updated and safe, which is lovely to know, still doesn’t change the fact it won’t go away! Not a major problem but it is getting tedious now every single time.
Like I say I am willing to wait and see if this gets fixed anyway which to be fair, FireFox seem to do a lot better than the competition. If it doesn’t though I’d still rather go back to an older version just to be rid of it! But not even that is now working to be gone of it! It’s gotten that ridiculous for me now too!
    :)

  • How do I disable the hardware acceleration in Flash player on a Windows XP machine remotely?

How do I disable the hardware acceleration in Flash player on a Windows XP machine remotely?
I have a few hundred computers running Adobe Flash Player.
The operation system is Windows XP.
They are Compaq 6005 desktop PC’s, with an inbuilt ATI radeon HD 4200 video card.
We have a persistent issue where viewing a flash video (e.g. something on youtube) causes the video card driver to crash.  You are left with no video signal to the monitor.  Audio continues and the computer still responds to commands. This only happens when watching flash video.
    We have tried:
    Updating flash plugin (numerous versions)
Updating the video card drivers (we have tried the last three video card driver versions, including the HP drivers and ATI drivers)
Updating the browsers (this problem happens with IE8/9 and Firefox10/11/12)
There seems to be two ways to work round this issue.  One is to disable the video acceleration in the ‘troubleshoot’ section in the advanced part of the display settings area in windows.  The other way is to start a flash video, right click, go to ‘settings’ and untick the box marked ‘Enable Hardware Acceleration’.
Doing either of these things allows the user to view flash videos with no apparent issues.
Is there a way to disable the hardware acceleration in Flash without visiting the PC?  Perhaps an undocumented option in the mms.cfg file? I understand that you can use an option to skip the video card check, and so force hardware acceleration on, can you do the opposite?
    Thanks in advance
    Daniel.

    Hi.
I have had over 200 views, and no suggestions as to how this could be fixed.
I have also posted in the general flash forum, that thread has fewer views.
If I should put this question in a different forum please let me know which one.
If what I am asking is not possible is there a mechanism for escalating this issue or requesting a feature for the next version of flash?
    Thanks.

How do I disable the Firefox allow page feature.
when I click on allow, it completely knocks me out of the website in which i have to log in again.

Uncertain of your question. If you are getting a re-direct to another page after signing in (common occurence after signing in) check the following setting:
*''Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Advanced > General (Accessibility section), '''<u>un-check</u>''' "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"''

Link to other options panels - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-options-preferences-and-settings
Other- You should check your plugins and update as needed.

  • How can I disable the annoying orange outline while I tap a link or a input area?

i'm a user of Firefox for android. i've found a problem since I update to 16.0.2 and above. every time i tap a link or a input text in the web page, there always shows an annoying orange rectangle outline around the focused link or input area. Moreover, this outline would keep showing while I drag the page and start browsing other parts of the same page. how can I disable the annoying feature?

This is the default feature of the browser to indicate which element are you on, if you are actually on focus with the input or tapping on the right link.
Since this is a default feature of the browser, it now depends on the website's developer to override this feature with custom focus styles. Normally, in a browser, you can override this with user styles/scripts but as far as I know, Firefox Android does not support such features.
However, I found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929362 an article] that states that there is a [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ plugin] that is compatible with Firefox Android that handles user styles.

  • How do I disable the automatic startup on HP Photosmart Premier when I turn my computer on?

Someone else posted ths question a month ago, but still no answers.  Anyone?
How do I disable the automatic startup on HP Photosmart Premier when I turn my computer on?
Windows XP, SP3 operating system recently re-installed so I also reinstalled my printer software.  Now, for some reason, each time I turn my computer on, my HP Photosmart C4100 all-in-one photosmart premier software opens.  It is not in my startup.  This slows down my computer terribly, which is why I never used the program before my re-install.  How can I disable this feature?  I only print, I don't use it for photos.
    Any help here is appreciated.

Run msconfig.exe from the start button (type in msconfig).  When it comes up go to the Startup tab and find and deselect the HP product you do not want to start.  Save and reboot computer.  Now try.

  • Fedora 13: After upgrading from FF3.6 to FF6.0.2 I no longer have a Java plugin. How do I configure the Java Plugin for FF 6 ? There is no Java Plugin at the site

I am Fedora 13x64 bit. I just installed FF v6.0.2 from the FF download site. I backed up the existing FF 3.6 as firefox_old
I need to have a Java plugin to access company site, how do I configure the Java Plugin ?
At the Plugin area in FF6 there is no Java Plugin available, even after a search.
I have Java 1.6.0 installed in the OS at:
    /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0/jre/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so
I googled how to configure Java Plugin for FF 6 for Fedora 13 and the trick was to create a soft link from /home/<userID>/.mozilla/plugins to the above libnpjp2.so
