How do I disable the 'open java script' message box message box alert?

Bee Hong-
What App is showing the message?  If it is Safari, go to Settings-Safari-JavaScript and turn it ON.
If it is a different App, see if that App is in Settings and has a JavaScript option.

    Find the process ID of the HP Device monitor by doing
    ps -eo pid,command | grep "HP Device Monitor"
    The process id will be the number that is printed. Sometimes you may see two results, the correct result to use should print "/Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HP Device Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/HP Device Monitor"
    Then using the number you got from the first step, run the following command.
    sudo kill -9 <pid>; sudo rm -rf "/Library/Printers/hp/hpio/HP Device Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/HP Device Monitor"
    You will be prompted for your admin password.

  • How do I uncheck the "open in low resolution" box for Acrobat Pro 10.1.10 in a MBP with retina display?

    I have the "open in low resolution" box checked by default and I can not uncheck it because it is shaded out. I already tried the "uninstall Acrobat, delete the 'com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist' file, and reinstall"  solution, but it did not work. I am using Adobe CS6, acrobat pro 10.1.10, macbook pro w/ retina display, and OS X 10.9.4.

    I don't think Acrobat 10 is capable of that. Only the very latest Acrobat 11 update has some concessions for Retina displays.

  • How Can I Disable The Open This File Prompt?

    I'm running 2012R2, IE 11, Acrobat Reader 11 (Also Chrome, but the same fix should work)
    My users open PDF's all day.  I want to remove the Open/Save prompt - it gets in the way and is very annoying.
    I've tried creating the registry entry:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\AttachmentExecute\{0002DF01-0000-0000-C000-000000000 046}
    AcroExchange.Document.11    REG_NONE
    AcroExch.PDF.PDF.1               REG_NONE
    AcroPDF.PDF                           REG_NONE
    I found these on various forums but none have worked.
    Please help.

    Cheers for the reply.
    I have deleted the rdf file but no difference. I still get the opening file box popup.
    From the resetting download actions link. Both lines in the about:config are missing.
    I have also tried switching the download option for the qif file to use a csr file but that also opens the confirmation box.
    I pulled this from the rdf file
    <RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:mimetype:handler:text/x-qif"
    NC:alwaysAsk="false"
    NC:saveToDisk="false"
    NC:useSystemDefault="false"
    NC:handleInternal="false">
    <NC:externalApplication RDF:resource="urn:mimetype:externalApplication:text/x-qif"/>
    <NC:possibleApplication RDF:resource="urn:handler:local:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System\msmoney.exe"/>
    </RDF:Description>
    <RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:scheme:webcal"
    NC:value="webcal">
    <NC:handlerProp RDF:resource="urn:scheme:handler:webcal"/>
    </RDF:Description>

    NC:path="C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System\msmoney.exe"
    NC:prettyName="msmoney.exe" />
    Not sure if that helps.
    Thanks again for the reply

    Sounds like Malware.
    Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have. '''(Not all programs detect the same Malware.)'''
    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - [http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php]

  • How do I disable the bleeping RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION box

    Every time I open Firefox, the RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION box appears - even if there has been no crash. I've tried the about:config fix and it made absolutely no difference. Please tell me how to get rid of this feature without having to delete all my browsing history every time I turn off my computer.

    If you want to completley disable session restore about:config
    set browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo and browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo to 0
    Then Options > General > When Firefox Starts select home or blank tab.
    Set browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash to false to stop it restoring after a crash.

  • What to do? When on a site with a PDF download I wish to open, the site commences to open in a new Tab but the information does not come through? This happens on all sites. The advanced Java Script is disabled.

    When on a site with a PDF download I wish to open, when I click on download the site commences to open in a new Tab but the information does not come through? This happens on all sites. The advanced Java Script is disabled. The new tab will sometimes flash black then go white with nothing else happening or just go white & nothing else?

    I had the same problem and also had PDF Download 3.0.02 installed. By removing this addon I can now select a PDF document which then opens up a normal Open With/Save dialogue allowing me to open the file or save it. Hope this helps.

    Sounds like a file association issue in Windows. Right click on the files of interest and select Open With>Choose Default Program and select the program you want used (be sure the "always use" box is checked. The Acrobat installation should not have done this change, but this is the process to make the change on each file type.

    How can I disable the system feature which automatically restarts applications i had open during a previous session ?

    When you log out, uncheck the box to reopen applications. If you're still using 10.7.3, then you will have to uncheck the back with each shutdown or restart.
    10.7.4 update was suppose to fix it that when you uncheck the box, it should remain unchecked for restarts after that.

  • Disabling the Open button in the JFileChooser dialog

    Hi,
    I would like to enable/disable the Open button in the JFileChooser dialog, after the dialog is shown.
    I looked at the Java APIs but I could not find a method that gives me the access to this button.
    Could anyone let me know how to either retrieve the Open button from the JFileChooser or enable/disable it through Java APIs?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul Rodziewicz

    As I'm editing with multiclips in my sequence, if I select "open" from the middle pulldown menu in the canvas or viewer, it will open the multiclip in the viewer and play it in sync with my timeline playhead (like the gang feature). I.E. so I can hit play in my timeline, watch the multiclip in the viewer real time, and make edits (to the clip in the timeline) as I watch. My issue is that the syncing of the viewer playhead and the timeline playhead often break when deleting clips and I constantly have to reselect the "open" button, and it would be way nicer if there was a shortcut key instead of having to mouse it. It only takes a second to use your mouse and select "open" but when you have to do it constantly, it makes you wish for a quick key.

  • How can i disable the message "leave page / stay on page"

    How can i disable the message "leave page / stay on page" please explain step by step if if it involved inserting java script.
    Thanks

    These three userscripts are along the same lines as the one link to above:
    * [http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/180752 AllowPageClose] - recently posted, appears to run a timer to watch for changes and make sure it's really dead
    * [http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/121551 Disable - remove onbeforeunload]
    * [http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/98260 Kill Sure Want To Nav Away]
    None of the four scripts has any mechanism for site exceptions built into it, but you can make exceptions using Greasemonkey's user settings tab. You do that using the script's Options dialog. You can do that from the Add-ons page, User Scripts category. Either:
    * Monkey toolbar button > Manage User Scripts
    * Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Alt+a) > User Scripts
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > User Scripts
    Then click the Options button for the relevant script. On the User Settings tab, in the Excluded Pages box, you can enter the site that you want to carve out of the script. Note that in order to match all pages on the site, you need to use the wildcard character (*) as shown in the attached screen shot.
