  • Possible to copy the sound effects off the phone?

I love the 'robot' sound effect on the iphone which I use for text message alerts. Is it possible to copy/send this sound file off the phone as I'd like to use it on my Mac too?

    Benjamin Frain,
I couldn't locate one similar to Robot, but there are ones similar to SciFi ( Sci Fi Sweep ) and Old Phone (Old Telephone Ringing) in the iMovie '08 Sound Effects or iLife Jingles. I haven't looked extensively, there may be other similarities.
    Hope this helps,

  • How do you add more sound effects to the iMovie library

    hola
i was already suggested to use http://www.freesound.org/ but it dosent show up in imovie so if you know hoe to fix that that woud also be very helpful.  i would prefer that the new sounds be free but i would consider a small fee.
thanks you to who ever replies:)

    1. You can drag the audio clip directly into your project from the Finder.
    2. Also, you can import your audio clip into iTunes and open the Media Browser in iMovie to iTunes.
    3. Use the Import window.

  • How to turn off camera sound effects on Yoga 10+?

I find the sound effects of the camera annoying. Turning down the volume of notifications, media, or alarms does nothing to disable them. Not even plugging a dummy headphone jack will silence them.

    @navbond007
    Hi navbond007,
Digital camera's do have a sounds when a picture is being taken but this noise isn't artificial like in mobile phones it is the shutter mechanism. Some digital camera's shutter makes a low or no noise but they do have a beep to give an indication that a picture is being taken. In countries where this is compulsory by law it should give some indication that a picture is being taken.
Also please take into account one device is a phone and the other a dedicated camera.

  • The sound effects volume is all the way down. It pops on for a second, then disappears. I can't find it in settings.   How do I get the sound back?

The sound effects volume is all the way down.  It pops up for a second once in awhile and then disappears. I can't find it in the Setting.  Music sound plays fine, but no sound on my apps.  Any idea how to fix it?

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that fixes it.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up

The sound effects icon is staying on my ipad. How do I get this to go away?
    Thanks for the help.
Have A blessed and Wonderful Day!!!!!!!

If the sound icon is stuck on the screen, then the pad thinks you are pressing the volume rocker on the side of the pad.   Do you have a case or something that might be touching that rocker?
Some have reported that they have put a small dent in the pad body that presses the switch.  If so, you need to somehow indent it.
Try a reboot.  Press and hold both the home and sleep button until the apple logo appears.  Ignore the red slider.

When I turned on my Ipad to use, the sound effects logo appearned in the center of my page, how do I remove it?

    Try,
Settings > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > then switch this to Off it is on.
If this is not on, then please go through all the Accesssibility controls and make sure that they are all set to Off. From you description, I would guess that one of them is on.

  • How do I adjust the sound effects?

    Hello all,
I've inserted a sound effect (typewriting) in my slideshow and I'd like to lengthen the duration to match the duration of the title (it's letters typing across the screen).
When I move the cursor to the end of the typewriting sound effect and try to drag it to lengthen it... it doesn't move.
Are the sound effect clips fixed? Can I not lengthen them to match the duration of the visual clip (title)?
    Any helps is appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Ted

Depending on the type of music, it is often possible to patch in a small segment of a copy of the song - use copy and paste method. The 'patch' can be trimmed accurately to fit the beat. More difficult perhaps with singing than with instrumental tracks.

  • What happened to the sound effects in Garageband after in app purchase of $4.99 expansion pack?

I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro OS Mavericks and promptly began using Garageband 10.0.2.  There were many sound effects provided in the program (thunder, galloping horses, etc.), and I decided to complete the in app purchase.  Once I completed the download and install, I realized that I no longer had those sound effects.  Does any one know what happened to them?

Galloping Horses and thunder are not part of the GarageBand sound effects. You have probably other loop packages installed, for example the Final Cut Pro Sound Effects or the iLife Sound Effects.
Check, how your Loop Browser is set. The pop-up menu at the top of the Loop Browser should be set to "Loops" to have all loops available. Set the "Scale" to any, clear the search field. In the GarageBand Preferences, "Loops" pane disable "Keyword Browsing", filter for more relevant results.
Now you should be able to see all installed loops. If not, use the command "Reindex all Loops" from the "Loops" pop-up menu.

  • How do you move a sound clip in the timeline?

I have not had this problem before. I have put many songs into the timeline, and repositioned them. Today I pulled up a project and attempted to reposition a song to fit in better with the clip, and I'm unable to do so. I can't select the song, or anything else. Obviously I have set or locked up this track, and I can't figure out how to unlock if that is what I have done. I have 6 songs on that track, Audio track 2, and I can't reposition any of them. I can't even remove them from that track. What am I doing wrong?

Hunt, most of my music files, over 9000 songs, are mostly mp3 files and a few are wma, and because of copyright laws I wouldn't use them in a commercial project I'm working on anyway. When I am working on a project for a client I will generally use higher quality WAV files. This project was being done just to learn some new techniques, gain some more experience with PPCS4, and expand my knowledge with the program. I have this huge number of music files and styles to work with, so I can do a great deal of experimentation to see what different songs can do to the mood of the video.
As a test, I did put the exact same songs into the timeline on a different audio track. The problem track is audio 2, and I duplicated those songs on audio 3. I did the exact same editing. I faded them in and out the same as before. Split one song into 3 sections had parts of it come in and out over a video section of 9 minutes duration. They are working perfectly. I was just working on one section of that project a half hour ago, and I was still able to select and move each of the four songs on that track any way that I wanted to. However, the track just above it in that same timeline, Track 2, is still frozen.
Hunt, just a moment ago I solved my problem. Still not being that familiar with the program, two days ago I know that I was playing with all of the controls, and I obviously hit one of them without knowing one of its side effects. I hit the show "show track keyframes". I'm sure that you know it, but I didn't realize that when that function is selected, you can't do much else with the track but play with those keyframe. Even though I didn't have the track locked, in the traditional way, it was still, for all practicall reasons, locked. I unchecked that function and now everything is back to normal again on that track.
Something very simple, as many things turn out to be when you understand it. However, maybe someone else will make the same mistake, and my posting here will help them.
I will use your suggestions for using .WAV files. Thank you again.

    Terry,
What is the purpose of using the .WMA files? I'm sure that you have a good reason, but they can be problematic, at best. I only use them as a trasfer medium, when I need to get a DD 5.1 SS soundtrack into Audition for editing. There, I break them out into 6 discrete .WAV files, edit in Multi-track Mode and then usually Export as the 6 discrete WAV's to be encoded to DTS, or similar.
If you do not have a compelling reason for using the .WMA, try PCM/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit and see if the issues go away.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes please,
    Hunt

  • Sound Effects on the Fly

Hi...just starting to podcast and I've looked up how to do this but I just can't seem to get the sounds assigned to the musical keyboard or onscreen keyboard.
Does anyone have a great "how to" or example how I can assign sound effects to certain keyboard keys on my Mac to use them during my broadcast "on the fly"
    Thanks!

    For clarification...
I am attempting to add a laugh track or other sound effect from the GB3 loop pane...to use on the fly as I record...to give my podcast a more professional radio feel.
I follow these directions but can't get it to work:
To add a new sound to the Sound Effects instrument:
Select the track using the Sound Effects Software Instrument.
Choose Window > Musical Typing to open the Musical Typing window.
Drag the region or loop from the timeline or loop browser to the Musical Typing window, and release it over the key you want to use the sound.
If you transpose a region before dragging it to the Musical Typing keyboard, it keeps the transposition in the Sound Effects instrument. It will also play faster (if transposed up) or slower (if transposed down), similar to transposing a sound in a sampler.
When it says to "drag the region or loop from the timeline...does that mean I add it as a track and then move it? Can't figure this out...
    Thanks!
