Anyone have an idea how to "disconnect" my phones from apple id? Two iphones in our family end up sharing all the texts sent to either phone from another iphone.

I've already used my deauthorize all button once before. My ultimate goal is to have the app disappear on their ipod touch, is there anyway to do that? Was just changing my email address and password enough to get it off of their ipod touch?

Changing the access list associated with your account won't delete content off his iPod.
Changing the account prevents him from downloading new content under your account, including updates to existing applications, but it won't remove currently-installed applications. That will only happen when the device is connected to iTunes and a manual sync is performed.

If your system crashes or you reinstall your operating system without deauthorising iTunes first, even a single computer can use up your limit of 5 authorisations. You can't deauthorise those dead installations individually. The procedure you describe is putting content from two different IDs into a single library, which can readily be done.
However, each item of purchased content will still be tied to the ID from which it was originally purchased, and they will be treated separately for purposes of Cloud, Match, Purchase History, etc.

If you want to transfer app dat you need to restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod. Restoring from backup will result in your new iPod being just like your old iPOd except you will have to reenter keychain items like passwords since those only get restore to the same device upon a restore.

I would not suggest starting anew AppleID as you will have problems with previous purchases.

Because it is part of your old AppleID (and your library does not just magically appear).
Did you make a backup of your HD?

Authorize your computer for your old AppleID then File > Devices, select your device then Transfer purchases.
I highly suggest you sort out the issue with your old AppleID and continue to use that. Remove your personal info from the new AppleID and don't use it.
