How do I disengage Yahoo!, Gmail & Hotmail's contact sync?

I understand that Address Book wants to be the prime contact source one I've sync'd it with my Yahoo mail. No problem.
1st Problem
Now that I've sync's Address Book to Yahoo, even though I've gone through and changed the templet in Address Book preferences,
a.) Address Book is still NOT picking up all the birthdays and anniversaries.
b.) Address Book is still NOT picking up any of the url's from Yahoo.
          ♦ How do I get Address Book to incorporate the Birthdays, anniversaries, an URL's without having to manually enter them?
2nd Problem
a.) Other than the first problem (Address Book NOT picking up Birthdays, anniversaries, an URL's from Yahooo!), things were OK. I could use my me.com email with up to date addresses from Yahoo! ••• Woo Hoo!
b.) Then I sync'd Address Book to Gmail. Whoa. The merging software (Apple's &/or Yahoo's) played havoc on 1st-middle-last names switching them around and sometimes adding up to 4 sets of 1st-middle-last names to the Yahoo! contacts. The software did the same for "title" and "employer" fields, and it especially frequently added 3 to 4 sets of "notes" fields. Trying to get rid of the redundant sets is laborious and time intensive, especialy with 450+ contacts.
c.) And I can't really figure out which sync software is jumbling/multiplying those fields. Yahoo!, Gmail, or Address Book? Man is it confusing and frustrating. So the questions are:
          ♦ How do I now (or in the future), keep (Apple's &/or Yahoo's) merging sofware from playing havoc, and creating redundant sets of "1st-middle-last name", "title," "employer" and "notes" fields?
          ♦ How do I slave Gmail contacts to Address Book so that I dont come back to my MacBook after a few minutes rest, and find that Address Book contact info that was already OK from the Yahoo! sync, has now been changed and several fields (in both the Apple Address Book & Yahoo!) have been deleted or reverted back to older entries from the Gmail contacts? Aaaaahhhhhhh !
3rd Problem
a.) As if stupidity was a personal unlimited resource, I thought wouldn't it be great if I sync'd Yahoo contacts with my Hotmail contacts. Then when I have to use Hotmail, I wouldn't have to flip back-and-forth from Hotmail to Yahoo! for addresses. For the Hotmail contacts it seemed a good (but not necessarily great) idea. I could use my Hotmail with up to date addresses from Yahoo! ••• Once again, Woo Hoo! Same problem as 2nd problem above, but now with Microsoft steping in to stir the sewage. Again merging sofware was playing havoc, and creating redundant sets of "1st-middle-last name", "title," "employer" and "notes" fields. Sorry for monatany but the questions are:
          ♦ Same as for 2nd problem above, but with Hotmail thrown into the mix, especially: how do I slave Hotmail contacts to Address Book?
          ♦ If there's no better answer than to turn off contact synching from Yahoo!, Gmail & Hotmail's (leaving Address book's software running) controls, How do I turn off or toggle Yahoo!, Gmail & Hotmail's synching functions? I've been unable to get back to the toggle.
          ♦ The fact that I signed up for Gmail + and Microsoft's equivalent accounts, probably confounds the issue, but can anyone offer some advice on unsyncing from Yahoo!, Gmail & Hotmail's end?
If there is even one of these 6 questions that I can get some direction on, I would be extremely grateful. Hellllllpppppp !!!

there is currently no support for syncing your google contacts or google calendar, unless you port them though iCal or Address Book which you can now do in Leopards latest update. You could try that, you should find the option for the address book in its preferences and the calendar under accounts.

are you having issues with the initial login, or is hotmail successfully taking your information, but failing to remember it when you access more of the site for address book information gathering?
If the first part is happening, you're probably not setting up your connection within a SSL environment correctly (I'm only guessing that's what hotmail uses, as I'm not a hotmail user). There's plenty of documentation on apache's jakarta site on how to do this/troubleshoot it.
If you're connecting, and it's not holding the information, then the cookie storing is not set up right. In that case, you may want to post a new topic more specifically relating to cookies (probably want to do it in the networking section of these forums, as it's far more pertinent there).
I wish I could help you more, but I am far more familiar with instantiating web connections via the UrlConnection class, and not with the Jakarta Commons libraries. :(

Yahoo prevents accessing a free Yahoo account with any email client such as the Mail.app.
You can access a paid or Yahoo Mail Plus account ($19.95/yr) as a POP account with Mail and with other email clients.
If your Hotmail account is new, MS followed Yahoo's lead (all MS primarily knows how to do is follow and copy) preventing the access of free Hotmail accounts with an email client such as the Mail.app.
If you've had your Hotmail account for some time, you can access your Hotmail account with Mail by installing a 3rd party plugin that adds the httpmail protocol and account type to choose from when creating the account with Mail which can be downloaded here.

HT1277 When I delete email from my actual hotmail, yahoo and gmail accounts online, it does not delete from my MacBook Pro Mail accounts that I created for hotmail, yahoo, gmail. I thought sync'ing these accounts would do this. Please help :-)

I've set up my Mac - Mail with my yahoo, gmail and hotmail accounts and can successfully send and receive mail. However, when I go online to my actual yahoo, gmail and hotmail accounts to delete unwanted emails or to move those emails into subfolders, my Mac - Mail is not updated. How do I do this?

Is it POP or IMAP? - see Mail/Preferences/Accounts - highlight an account and see what the Type is.

I can't understand why emails sent by recipients with Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail (etc) accounts are not being received by my iPhone. Everything else comes seems to come through... Just to confirm, these are not accounts that I've created but rather email servers for family, friends, and clients that need to copy to my iPhone.
Any suggestions where I can adjust settings to allow these emails to come through? Muchly appreciated.

Who is your email provider? Is it one of the free services or a work account?
Do the emails show up in your inbox when you check from a computer?
Do you have any filtering rules set up on your email account that would automatically direct the emails to a folder other than your inbox?

Don't want gmail and phone contacts synced

I have synced my s3 with my gmail account because I want to be able to check my email with my phone (like every other human). I don't, however, want my contacts synced because it puts many many contacts in my phone (everyone I have ever emailed). I just want phone contacts in the phone. How do I do this? Google has not been much help.

Another way is to turn off automatically adding email to your contacts. I email tons of different people and the only ones that show up in my contacts are the ones I put in my contacts. I do NOT automatically add emails to contacts as that is a completely useless feature for me.

Well the worst happened... I upgraded my wife's 3G to V2.1 from 2.0.. I conscientiously made sure the iPhone data was backed up before I ran the upgrade ( iTunes 8 told me it was... and I believed it...) and it all went swimmingly.. that is until I opened her contacts and calendar and then DOH! all empty.
If I understand correctly ( what I should have known before) the contacts and calendar on the 3G must be synched with something to be preserved... *I was not warned of this possibility at any time during the process before it wiped the data... DOH! nope.*
We do not use the Mac Address Book or iCal on Tiger or Leopard. We do not use Outlook/Exchange as of yet. My wife uses her G-Mail account.
Can G-mail be set to store Address Book and calendar information so this does not happen again.. if so HOW?

I have convinced my company to buy the first Mac after a long struggle:) And finally started to use it on our network which consists of windows servers, solaris and unixes. However, since I am the only one using a Mac and no IT assistant to support me. I have to figure out and solve the problems I am facing myself:( I would really appreciate any help to come over those problem.
1- Mail application was far from being usefull for corporate use. So I had to switch to MS Entrouge. Even with small problems(gives a certificate error when i open it) its useable. Problem is, I cant reach the corporate address book where i can see the users which i was able to do on MS Outlook.
2- I can't print via the network printer. There is a printer located on network, I can see it, install it(I have manually set the correct printer). However when i try to print, it gives me an error.
3- I was able to access gmail, hotmail,yahoo in first days. But I dont knwo what happened. I can't access to gmail,yahoo, hotmail neither from safari nor from firefox. I have resetted both, cleaned cache, cleaned history, deleted keychains. What ever i do, i can't open those pages. On windows partition i can reach them without a problem
4- There a shared folders on our network for my department. I used to keep shortcuts of those network folders on my desktop to easly reach. However, I have to find them each time i start my computer. How could i create shortcuts for them on my desktop?
5- Whats the thing with desktop? Sometimes the files i save on desktop doesnt appear until i restart. I can see them from 'finder' but i can't see them on my desktop? I suppose thats a bug from OSX but i can't understand how come thats not fixed until yet. Also saving images from safari is a pain, since i can only save them to my desktop, as its the only option, is there a way to do save as?
6-I use an iMac "24 with 1GB of Ram. But funny, it feels slower than the intel mac mini 1,64 i use at home. Could it be the computer on network causing it to work slower.
7- Safari cant deal with FTP's at all. So I had to install 'firefox' and a pluggin to deal with FTP. But honestly, miss internet explorer on that case. It was so much better than both.
8-My archive files from MS Office(pst) cant be imported neither on 'mail' nor on entrouge:( They are about 2GB, and so far from what i read, it cant be done easy. and it cant be done from a Mac
I am sorry, if I sound a bit complaining, but because of these problems, I really had hard time to keep projects on time. I love using my Mac at home, but corporate use of a mac seems like a whole different experience. My emigrations hasnt passed so easy already....
And official distributor in my county fail to provide enough support on any of these problems.

Backup the device in iTunes.
Restore as new.
Setup one account on the device and test. If it works, set up the other accounts one at a time and test. If this works, there is some screwy setting in your backup that is the culprit.
If this does not work, restore from the backup created in the first step to get all your data back/settings back.

However,if you are working on gmail once there is a way by which one can export gmail contacts address book.

Now coming back to extacting Gtalk list the logic is bit simple.
Just try to re-write the logic such that you extract all the list for which email address ends with "@gmail.com".

I have setup icloud in my Iphone 6 running 8.1.2. and it is logged in by enabling Contacts in icloud settings. My contact list contains 1718 Contacts. I manually backed up my data into icloud including my contacts without Passbook & Documents data. But when i logged into iCloud.com to see the contacts it is not there.
I also find when i checked only the Icloud contacts "there are no contacts showing in my contact list". I think this is the reason why there is no contacts in icloud web too. Then how can i move contacts from other accounts (eg: gmail,hotmail etc) to icloud.

I assume you're using GMail as your primary e-mail account? Try this. This is how I am setup. Not only will it move all your contacts to your phone but any changes made in GMail or on the iPhone will be sync'd with the server.

Note... I think this will delete your existing contacts from your device. You will want to use iTunes to back them up and get them imported into GMail before you sync your device wtih GMail.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

You can't unless (assuming you have the Apple TV 1) you remove the drive and connect it to a computer.
