How do I display cover art in Songs view?

I like how the other views look, but as far as I can tell they do not automatically continue to the next album/artist when the current finishes. (Artists => All Artists almost works, but when I press cmd-L it refines to the current artist which is not what I like.) So Songs view has the behavior I like, but is missing cover art.
Is it possible to display cover art in Songs view?

As a workaround, I created a smart playlist that includes all my music in the playlists view and then in that view I can show the artwork. Select: view/artist list.
Now I have two sidebars (the playlists, and artists)! Progress though, thanks.
EDIT: Whoops, this is not any better than the Artists view AFAIK (cmd-L still refines the view to just the current artist).

  • Itunes won't display cover art correctly

When I view my music in the album list, the cover art for songs will show up very sporadically, despite displaying fine in the grid and cover flow formats. They also show up when I select "Get Info" as part of the information and in the cover section. The cover art is also tied to the music file itself.
Is there any way to fix this? Album list is my preferred way to view my music, but the lack of cover art is annoying. Plus, I don't want to sync my ipod until it's fixed because I don't want to lose the cover art stored there.
I have iTunes 10.0.1.22, but I was having the problem in earlier versions as well.

Try itunes menu > view > Always Show Artwork when you're in album list view.
The default is off, which saves screen real estate when there's a bunch of singles.

  • How to show the cover art in the sidebar?

    Hej!
I just updated iTunes to the latest version and wanted to make it look like before and already managed to enable the side and status bar.
Now to my problem: I just can't find out how to show the cover art of the selected/playing song in the sidebar...
If they didn't remove this option, please let me know how to enable it.

I was able to somehow pull the single tool column down and get it to show as a double column. I am not sure as to exactly how I did this, but I did get the double column tool box and so far it has remained. There is some gray column overlap at the bottom of the screen.

I understand what you mean - I too, would like to see some variability in the 'default'. Besides having a single default, I would step that up to a default that changes with genre and media: ie. I could see using a sax for Jazz; a microphone for a Podcast, etc.
I don't have the answer to your question yet, but I think I'm going to crack open the iTunes package to see what default images there are embedded in there.

  • How do I add Cover art

How to I make cover art viewable in iTunes after the podcast has downloaded

You'll need to add the image to your id3 tag before you upload it to your server.
Easiest way to do it with iTunes, is to import the podcast into iTunes. Go to recently added right click on the episode>get info> click the tab that says Artwork then add. Then you can upload it to your server and it will be attached to your podcast.
Only problem is you need to do this for every show.
    Hope that helped.

  • My podcast has been approved, how do change my cover art and add an author?

My podcast has been approved, how do change my cover art and add an author?  I would appreciate any help
    Thanks

In whatever method you are using to create your podcast there should be a place where you originally placed the image or its URL, and you can just replace this with a new one (which needs to have a different filename from the original). Similarly there should be a place to enter your name so that it goes in the 'itunes:author' tag.

  • Can I bring back larger cover art in album view in iTunes 11

In iTunes 10 there was a slider on the top right that allowed you to make the album art very big. Four or Five albums per row was the way I liked it and it worked very well for my living room media center setup.
I absolutely hate the new maximum size of the album art in the "Albums" view of iTunes 11. It makes me want to reverse engineer it and add the setting back in.
Any ideas on how to get this back, or Apple can we please have this option back?

  • ITunes 11: Album art in song view

    I WANT:
    1) Album art in song view with Date Added selected
    OR
    2) Add DATE ADDED to Album View (why isn't it?)
    3) If I can't have these anymore, cuz we all know Apple giveth and Apple taketh away on a regular basis, then Album View should automatically show the current song playing (why doesn't it?)
Also, I had to restart three times before Command L finally worked. I had to deselect and reselct Sync iPhone over WiFi to get that to work.
    Sloppy and unintelligent update.

If you are in Album view and click Song view, you can view all the information you wish.  It is an extra click but innovation seems to be that way these days.

  • I have songs on my iPhone 5 that have been purchased through iTunes that isn't displaying cover art. Please help!

I have a few songs, quite a few actually, that have been purchased through iTunes and they aren't displaying the cover art on my iPhone. They have previously, but now for some reason it has stopped. Only on a few.
    Can anyone help me?
I have the latest version of iTunes and I'm using a PC with Windows 7.

    Hello kerrisapatricia,
It sounds like you have a couple of songs you want to delete from your iPhone. This article should help with that:
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5772
    To delete a song:
    Tap the Music app.
    Tap the Songs category.
Swipe left to right over the song you want to delete.
    Tap Delete.
If you see a cloud icon next to them right now, or after you delete them you can hide them by turning off Show all Music in your settings here:
    Tap Settings > Music
    Download past purchases

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • REMOTE app on iPhone does not display Cover Art

I use the Apple REMOTE App on my iPhone to control my iTunes music library on a Mac. The REMOTE App controls the iTunes playback properly. However, the Cover Art for each song does not display on the "song" screen - showing the song currently playing. Across my iPhone screen (where the Cover Art should appear) are the words containing album of the song). The name of the song and album correctly appear at the top of the screen.
What is interesting is that when I hit the back arrow (left side top on song screen), all of the Cover Art appears in small thumbnails. The Cover Art also appears in other displays (for example, the currently-playing Album) using REMOTE on my iPhone. This means that the cover art is being transmitted to my iPhone - HOWEVER IT DOES NOT DISPLAY ON THE SONG SCREEN.
Can anyone kindly help me resolve this - because I would really like the Cover Art to display properly on the song screen.  Thank you.  Dale

Nezmo, This is really unbelievable.  I have suffered from the issue I described for SEVERAL YEARS.  Today, for some reason I decided to make this post on the Apple discussion board.  And, today the issue was fixed by Apple.  I just downloaded the update to the REMOTE app and the cover art now shows beautifully on my iPhone 6 plus.  Thanks.  Dale

  • I've always wanted to obtain and have perfect resolutioned cover art for my albums. I have been and downloaded albums from the iTunes store, and they come with really great cover art. How can I get cover art as precise and clean as the albums have on ther

My problem mainly concerns cover art.
There have been times when I downloaded albums from the iTunes store to find its cover art it is absolutely beautiful, and is absolutely 100% un stretched. Whereas when I have gotten images for a specific album from Google Images it's terribly pixelated and totally disgusting.
Is there a way for me to obtain cover art for my albums that is has clarity equal to the cover art on the iTunes store albums.
Or will it basically boil down to I can only get that cover art by downloading my albums off the store?

The old iTunes libraries do not restore any playlists or song counts.
They should you if you do the roll back properly... Opening files from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in Windows Explorer simply opens the current library. If you don't see the .itl file extension then don't give your copied and renamed file the extention or iTunes will create an empty library rather than using the renamed file.
If you had a complete pre-problem backup of your library you could restore that. On the assumption that isn't possible I have a script called ExportImport that could in principle be adjusted to save the relevant data from a backup of the library database and then reimport that data into the current library. See this thread for details.

  • How do i get cover art

i cant figure out how to give my podcast that i put on itunes cover art please help

In the print menu for iTunes click on theme and change to "single cover"

  • Cover art for songs will not "save" in iTunes 7

The songs on my PC have corrected tags, lyrics and an associated picture (cover art). When I import all the songs into iTunes, many do not indicate that they have any cover art. The lyrics and the tag are ok. I used the Ctrl+i to manually add the cover art and it seems OK. When I exit the "Get Info" box, and go back into the same song, the cover art is missing, again. I also did the drag-and-drop method into the artwork viewer at the lower left. It seems to work OK too until I change songs, then it goes MIA. I have compared the jpg pixel sizes and file sizes to some that work but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Help!

See this thread for a (brief) discussion of the issue you're probably seeing. iTunes does not properly handle ID3v2 tags which are larger than 127 bytes (which includes pretty much any image). The reason it works when you add the album art in iTunes is because it saves the information in your iTunes Library file rather than in the ID3 tags.
