How do I distinguish the header/footer from the two-colume format of a .pdf document?

How do I get adobe to realize that there is a header and footer on each page, but the actual text in the file is in two columes. Is there a way to make this clear and embade it in the document so other programs recognize this too?
I am finding tha when I copy/paset text from this .pdf document the pasted text combines thet text across each line especially when images are involved in the selected feild. This 600 page document is formated into two columnes but has headers and footers and inserted articles and pictures that obscure fields. Here isinimage of what I mean.

Scripts can be placed in many different locations, but in this case an Action is the right choice since you want to process multiple files in the same manner.
You can set the output option of the Action to "Do not save changes", since you're already taking care of that in the script and don't actually need to save the original files.
It seems to me the script is doing what you want it to do, no? It creates the PDF files from the extract pages of each source file.
All you have to do now is to combine all of these files together, which you can do by going to File - Create - Combine Files into a Single PDF and select the folder to which you saved all of these files.

Blank space in the header part from the second page onwards.

I am having a 16 pages report where there the header part comes in only first page and the data flows to 16 pages
from second page onwards i am getting a empty space in the top portion (header part of the first page).
the property of repeating frames are
vertical elasticity=Yes
page protect =no
Base printing on =enclosing object.
keep with ancoring object=no.
please advice.

I think that you may find that the stuff in the header is set to print on First Page rather than All Pages. Try looking at the items and change.

Patch for displaying header/footer in the PDF output

Hi all,
I have issue in the xml report, I am not able to view the header/footer details while viewing the output in pdf format.
I found the solution in the blogs, they mentioned apply patch(5352734) in the below URL(http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/discuss/msgReader$103). I downloaded the patch but i dont knw how to apply this patch to generate the output with header/footer details.Even i read the readme.txt they said simply apply u5352734.drv file but i dont knw how to apply and where to apply this file.
please guide me if any one know how to do this?..

For seeing the header footer on the xml publisher desktop you need to Patch 5579683
and follow these instructions
1. From Template Builder, select Help -> About Template Builder.
2. Go to the Workspace directory and change to the subdirectory jlib.
3. Rename existing xdocore.jar and copy xdocore.jar from this patch.
You can find the patch on metalink.

How do I remove the header/footer when printing from ipad safari?

I'm trying to print invoices from a web app I'm using in safari on my ipad1. When I print there doesn't seem to be anyway not to include the header and footer that prints by default with Safari. I'd rather not have to use a second app just to print and go back and forth to the browser. Any ideas on this?
The printing itself is no issue at all and I'm using an HP6500A plus over an airport extreme in case you need those details.

Acrobat X, using applescript, how do I open the 'Header & Footer' panel

G'day from Oz.
We badly want to update to the CS6 suite, but using the trial version of Acrobat X, I can't find a way of opening the 'Add Header & Footer' dialog panel with applescript. We must add a barcode to pdf's, which was relatively simple using Acrobat 9.
Anyone know a way to do this please?

How to Modify the Header/Footer that's created when printing to PDF?

How do I modify the header/footer that is added when I use the Adobe PDF printer in another application, like MS Word? Currently it adds the entire path of the file as the header, which is really annoying.
I'm not talking about the Header/Footer command in Acrobat's "Document" menu. In fact, that command doesn't even recognise the header that's generated by the Adobe PDF printer.
I'm using Acrobat Pro 8.1.3, btw.

Generally you should set the whole look of the page in your application and then print to the Adobe PDF printer as you have been doing. If you are using a browser, there are header and footer commands for the printer that are typically set by the browser - those can be modified there. The PDF should look just like the preview in the application, that is the point of a PDF.

I think you might be opening your Pdf document in Adobe Reader. If you try open your pdf document in Adobe Standard and check again as far as your option are concerned you should be able to do that.

What you describe tends to indicate that you're using Reader, not Acrobat. If you do have Acrobat installed, make sure you're using it and not Reader.

I have a js scripts that I placed in the Header/Footer Section of a particalur reason.
It is quiet a lengthly script but when I click apply changes I get the following APEX error message.
ORA-20001: Error in DML: p_rowid=641043905163928761, p_alt_rowid=ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
Is this message cause by a limit on the number of characters and if so could there not be a limit on the number of characters allowed in the input box with a counter so that the user is aware that there is a limit.

Yes, there is a limit. May I ask why you want to put the script into the region footer or
header? I put the long code into a file on the file system and then reference it from the
page.

Sql loader does not skip header rows from the second infile

Hi
I am new to Sql Loader and trying to figure out a way to load data into the table from 2 files which have different data in the same format. The files get successfully loaded into the database with just one glitch:
Its skips first 2 rows from the first file however it takes first 2 rows from the 2nd file which I do not want. Can anyone help me with this issue? How can i restrict loader from picking up the 2 header rows from the second file as well?

How do I remove the white space from the bottom and side of my document? (I'm not talking about printing, just viewing it on the screen.) There are about 6 inches of white space at the bottom and at the right hand side. I don't like this. On a blank new spreadsheet it's triple that amount of white space.

The infinite canvas convention doesn't make a lot of sense for Numbers. When I'm viewing a spreadsheet and mistakenly scroll into white, empty space I think, "this is ridiculous - all of my content is fits on one screen. there's nothing over there."
A (relatively) infinite canvas is logical for Microsft Excel because it's one big table. There are 256(?) columns by default and hundreds of rows on a sheet - there are cells outside what a user is looking at to see. However, when viewing a Numbers spreadsheet with a single 10 column 10 row table that fits on the screen, there's nothing else on it to scroll to.
Numbers should distinguish between viewing a spreadsheet and editing one. When I'm just viewing, when there's no content outside the window it shouldn't scroll there. This window behavior is beyond annoying for Numbers on my iPad and iPhone.
(Adding user-defined canvas size setting to my view mode / edit mode thinking would probably be the most complete solution to this now that I think about it.)
Until now the way scrolling worked in Numbers has defied logic. Actually it still does lol. That said, thank you Yellowbox for providing a clear explanation. Much appreciated.

To keep track of messages you receive from especially important people, make them VIPs in Mail. You can have up to 100 VIPs.
To make someone a VIP, move the pointer to the left of the sender’s name in the message header and click the star that appears. You can also move the pointer over the sender’s email address, click the arrow that appears, and choose “Add to VIPs” from the pop-up menu.A mailbox for the VIP is added to the Favorites bar. For example, if you make Dad a VIP sender, his messages are displayed in a VIP mailbox titled Dad.
To remove VIP status from a sender, click the VIP’s star in a message. The star is removed and the sender’s VIP mailbox is removed from the Favorites bar.
