I mistakenly deleted the file "Newly Added" "smart playlist" from my itunes front page and now i have all my music going to the "music file" I would like to start from scatch and do a full reinstall tried twice before and, even after I deleted my history/catch/recy.bin and did a full program removal it still reinstalls with the missing original file.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. That will cost nothing and you will then know what the problem is and what alternatives you have for a fix.

How do I do a clean reinstall of iTunes?

I had been converting my cassette library to MP3 files and using iTunes (10.1.2) to burn CD's therefrom. I was using separate iTune libraries saved on an external disk when a 'my bad' moment caused the loss of the libraries. No harm, as I had already burned CDs of the now gone-forever libraries, but now iTunes references a bunch of missing/empty libraries and other intertwined iTunes files.
How can I strip iTunes and related files completely and get it back to a 'brand new, never been used' state? I have downloaded the iTunes 10.1.2 .dmg from Apple's download site.

Thanks for the suggestions--I knew about using the Option key, however what I finally found were three nested folders, each named 'Previous iTunes Libraries' that held grayed-out .MP3 audio files (my lost files) that were not accessible. I trashed these folders.
I have subsequently created several new iTune libraries and can open them via the Option key. However, if I just open iTunes, it always opens up with the previously opened library instead of opening empty. I guess that's just the way it works.

How do I do a full reinstall of OSX Mountain Lion so that all data from my internal hard drive on my Macbook Pro is wiped out and starting fresh?

Install or Reinstall Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
      the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.

A 'clean' install will not help you.
What ever you do - do not plug in your iPod or iTunes will update and erase the iPod.
Plug in your iPod and hold down the 'Option' +  Keys at the same time until the iPod appears in the Devices section of iTunes. This will prevent iTunes from updating the iPod.

After applying a patch, we redeploy the GP and our users get a full reinstall of Acrobat which takes a longer amount of time than if only the smaller patch were being applied. Is there a way around this so every time we patch and redeploy Acrobat (even the smallest patch), our users don’t have to wait through an entire reinstall?

I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). I have IE 8 on Windows XP, and iTunes 10 something. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below." I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to 'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)

Did this, then updated iTunes, and I was able to put my back up (from iPhone4) on my new iPhone 5. As soon as I did this, I noticed numerous functions missing that were present before I sync'd it. (LIke an ability to install short cuts when texting and allowing certain numbers to call in when I have DO NOT DISTURB selected). How can I regain the full functionality of my new iPhone 5? It only has what my iPhone 4 had on it.

Okay, that is the latest iOS. As far as shortcuts are concerned, they should be available. Go to Settings, General, Keyboard, Shortcuts. You should find the settings and area to enter new ones there. The area to set what numbers to receive calls from in DND mode are in Settings, Notifications, Do Not Disturb, and then then Allow Calls From.

How did you try to "restore" and what did you try to restore?
Probably the only solution is to restore your backup of the iPhoto library from before you did this

I just received an email receipt from Paypal showing a $12.99 purchase from iTunes. I almost NEVER purchase anything over around five dollars in the app or music store. Since PayPal does not show what this purchase was for, I have not received the receipt from Apple yet, and I cannot find anyway to look up online what this purchase was for....I need help to find out ASAP what this purchase was. If my account has been compromised or if I have been incorrectly charged for something, I would like to get the issue handled immediately. I've nener been part of a forum before and an wondering if this will actually be taken seriously. I'm new to video editing and know little about the program I am using (Adobe Premiere Pro CC).
