How do I do multiple alarms in ical as a default

How do you set a default alarm for iCal so it always comes upt with two bells / alrams?

Hi BWTS,
There is no default for 2 alarms. You can set a default for 1 alarm, and then when you set up your event, you can double click on it and set up a second alarm manually.
Cheers,

  • How to rid of multiple entries in ical

How the blazes do you you get rid of MULTIPLE entries in ical? I have read many answers and printed off a few to follow them but invariably i get to a point where I am unable to take the next step! I back track and and unable to find a fault of where I went wrong!! Then I have to ask myself WHY? Why on earth am I having to go to such extreme lengths to get rid of the unwanted entries?
Come on now Apple it is you who should be providing the simple logic answer to this?
I decided to give up? just ignore the other entries it easier than going frantic trying (and anyway I am frightened I may throw the macbook in my temper)

    Hi pvonk
I do know how to delete the odd file but I have things like bank holidays entered 7 or 8 times and Trooping the colour 15 entres Queens jubilee 14 times.
I just want to stop the thing from doing that and if there is a way my question is why do I have to do it? surely apple should fix it or whatever

  • Multiple alarms in ical after import

is their a global way to remove a 2nd alarm that seems to have happened after importing from outlook. I have 2 alrms and i think this is making my ical file and entry numbers huge.
Can you globally remove alarms and other ical event functions

    CaptainStarwars,
FYI, this multiple alarm issue is affecting a lot of iCal users under a lot of different circumstances—not just import. Do a search and look for other threads.
My observation is that MobileMe is responsible somehow. I fixed ALL my repeating events last week so that they all had a single alarm (like they're supposed to), and today duplicate alarms started showing up again.

  • How do I select multiple events in iCal 8.0?

In OSX Mavericks, I used to be able to select multiple events in iCal in the event list view. I could select the initial event in the span of events to be selected. Then hold Shift while selecting the final even in the span of events. As a result, all of the events in that span would be selected.
in OSX Yosemite, this is no longer possible. There appears to be no list view, and holding the Shift button does not allow me to select a span of events.
What is the best way to select a span of events, say as much as 30 events?
    Thank you.

  • How can I share multiple calendars in iCal with several different people?

I need to share multiple calendars created in iCal with all our staff. Do I enter their individual email addresses separated by a semi-colon or a "plus" sign or how. I tried entering all the email addresses with the semi-colon and when I go back to look at sharing, it just shows one email address.

I am assuming that you are referring to a responsive layout that has divisions that reposition themselves according to the width of the client browser window.
Rather than go into a teaching mode on this forum, let me point you to a nifty free Dreamweaver extension that will help you to achieve this. Have a look here http://www.dmxzone.com/go/21759/dmxzone-bootstrap?utm_source=Blog&utm_medium=link&utm_cont ent=DMXzone+Bootstrap+Released…

  • HOW DO I CREATE MULTIPLE SCHEDULES IN ICAL?

    Shashi,
You need to read about configuring the Catalog services:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/catalog/index.htm
These docs have not yet been moved into the 7.0 doc set but also apply to
    7.0.

  • How do you add multiple emails to iCal group?

By using Edit Distribution List, I can specify which of several email addresses for one contact should be mailed as part of a Group.  But what if I want to include more than one of the email addresses that is included in a contact (for example, both the husband and wife)?  How do I do that?
    Thanks.

I did figure this out, sort of, by adding a tab character to the beginning of each email address in my text file. Contact then let me import it, and I could select the field for the email address. So I've imported my list as a group of 700+ emails.
BUT now when I try and add that Group in the To: or Cc: or Bcc: fields in mail, it just disappears when I type it.
Any idea what's up with that?
    thanks

  • How can I use multiple concurrent profiles without breaking Windows' default HTML handler?

I have two Firefox icons, one with the '-p "MyProfile" -no-remote' options, and one with the '-p "MyGirlfriendsProfile" -no-remote' options. This works great; we both have out separate pages logged in with no conflict. However, when I click a link or HTML file in any other program, Windows tries to launch a new process rather than loading the target in one of the two running ones, and I get the "Firefox is already running..." error. I found the registry key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML\shell\open\command" which provides the parameters for handling Firefox-associated targets, and tried adding '-P "MyProfile" -no-remote' to it, but that doesn't work.
Is there any way I can get Windows 7 to open links/files in my profile in the process that's already running?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I started using separate profiles

You can't send a link from an external program to a Firefox instance that is started with the -no-remote switch.
That switch makes that Firefox instance invisible (undetectable) for other programs.
A workaround is to drag the link in that Firefox browser window.
You only need to use the -no-remote switch if you need to have both profiles open at the same time and I assume that that won't happen in your case unless you leave Firefox open and running all the time.

  • How to turn off alarms when iCal is not running

    iCal-Version 4.0.4 (1395)
Imagine giving a lecture supported by powerpoint in front of an audience, all applications turned off except of powerpoint, and suddenly popping up the iCal alarm message "meet her (xy) in the pub". How can I turn off alarms when iCal is NOT running?
    cheers
    knatterton

Hey!  I was DJ'ing and an iCal alarm went off even though I'd selected to have alarms not go off when iCal is not running.  Now that option isn't there anymore!  Can I revert to the previous version of iCal?  I don;t see any other new features that are worth not having interruptions during DJ'ing and presentations!  I know that if I turn off all alarms, I will forget.  I'd create an alarm to remind me to turn it back on, but...  This is REALLY annoying.

  • How to set multiple alarms on E90?

    Hi guys,
I want to set multiple alarms on a 24 hour period of the same day, please give hints on how this can be done, on my pervious handset I was able to set alarms for multiple dates & times.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Does the E90 not have the same multiple alarm features as the N95 & N82?
Go into the clock, then press right for alarms. Then press Options > New Alarm and set it for the correct day and time. Then repeat the process to set mutiple alarms for the same day.

  • How to disable alarms when iCal is off

    Hi all,
I might be missing something here, but I believe there used to be two settings to turn off alarms in 10.4 and 10.5:
    1) disable all alarms
    2) disable alarms when iCal is off
Did option 2) disappear in 10.6? I am really missing this feature.
    Thanks for your insights

I too would like to know a way around this problem. In the prior version of iCal, you could enable alarms only when iCal was running. I routinely sync three computers, sometimes hours to days apart. So unless I remember to turn alarms off prior to shutting down the machines, the alarms are not properly updated upon syncing when an idle machine is turned back on.
Hope this makes sense. Either way, it would have been better if Apple had not gotten rid of this feature in the new iCal.

  • Multiple issues affecting iCal - using GroupCal to sync with Exchange

Okay, I'll accept the fact that the world isn't perfect so long as Microsoft is around so that's one concession out of the way. I'll also concede with the issues related to the constraints that the Snerdware folks have to work with in respect to how their tools bridges a significant gap between the Mac and Windows communities.
However, the quirkiest things have been occurring that I can't explain nor can I remedy unless I completely rebuild my iCal database.
    1) Meeting requests get sent with what iCal considers as an incorrect email address and suggests that I add or change the "Me" card to properly reflect that address.
    2) I have multiple alarms in meeting notices, even ones that I originally set for myself. Its clear that something is getting screwed up in the translation as one alarm will show with "Message with sound" and the other with just "Message" so something odd is happening there.
    3) Meetings become tentative without understanding how that occurs - even after I accept the meeting request - upon syncing I get a tentative flag - how does this happen?
    4) I get multiples upon multiples of the same meeting - have no idea how that's occurring.
I understand that Microsoft continues to play the proprietary card and have read the dissertations from others on the difference between standards based technology and of course Microsloth's game plan for world domination.
I'm curious as to whether anyone has encountered these issues and if so, how did you resolve them?
    Thanks!
    Jim Naeve
    Murphy, TX

I too am always being told that there is an incorrect address with the suggestion to add/change the "me" card. I am a new Mac user and do not know what to do . . I cannot say if I am having the other problems that you are because I don't use iCal as much as I would like due to this one problem. My calendar entries are usually sent to my by my family who all use Exchange. This issue is actually rendering iCal useless to me.
If there is a resolution, please share! We realized today that we missed some things this weekend because they weren't on "Mom's calendar!!"
    Thanks,
    Anne

  • How do I create multiple calendars on my iPad?

How do I create multiple calendars on my iPad?

I love stealing another users posts and here is one now ....
You don't create multiple calendars on the iPad.
The iPad is designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer for contacts and calendar events. The contact Groups I've created with the Address Book on my Mac and the different calendars I have with iCal on my Mac are available and kept synchronized with the my iPhone's Contacts and Calendar applications, and the same applies to the iPad.
Long story short, this is done with the supported application on your computer used for syncing contacts and calendar events.
The same principle applies to PC users. You have to sync within iTunes from a supported calendar application on your PC.

  • How do I select multiple calendars?

Somehow iCal has given me multiple -- as in hundreds -- of "untitled" calendars (a sync issue?). I want to select and delete a whole bunch of them at once. Otherewise it's a painfully slow process of selecting and deleting one at a time. Any ideas how I can select multiple calendars? Holding down the shift or command key doesn't do it.
iCal is hobbled by memory problems until I clear out these uninvited calendars. I get the spinning ball, for instance, if I try selecting a different month.

Paste this into Script Editor's window, click Run, and go for a cup of coffee. It worked here to delete a dozen newly-created untitled - don't know what it will do for you, so it might be an idea to doa backup first.
    tell application "iCal"
set Them to calendars whose name starts with "Untitled"
              repeat with ThisOne in Them
      delete ThisOne
              end repeat
    end tell

  • Multiple Alarms for 1 Event

Keep getting multiple alarms (usually 3) popping up for each event in ical. I go into the event and edit it down to 1 alarm but that is not fixing problem. I just updated to 10.5.5 and it is still happening. Any suggestions?

You can only assign directly one location to each event, but each photo in the event may be assigned to an individual location. When you display the event in places you will see all the different locations.
